Holy shit I have been wanting to hear about what’s going on with Cove for years. And there’s no one else I’d rather have interview him. Super dope Tim 🙌🏻👏🏻
Glad Cove is back in the game. This dude is a real G and true to his fans. Really related when he talked about life hitting you, much like when he departed saosin. That “what now?” moment that a lot of people go through. Just surviving and living to fight another day. You just feel dead, but somehow you’re still going.
Omg thank you for this. I miss this man's voice so much . He was so nice when I met him years ago. He even wrote me on MySpace back in the day. Cove rocks
I'm glad you got a chance to interview your favorite vocalist. You've mentioned Cove and Saosin in your past interviews so you should be proud. Dead American sounds great, I'm excited we get to hear a new side of Cove's vocals.
Really miss this man, the feel when he grabbed my hand in the middle of crowd audience, I can still fell it til now even it happened back in 2008 when they did concert in Bali - Indonesia. So sad when he leaved Saosin and now my fav guitarist Justin also leaved Saosin :(
I can’t believe I’m just stumbling upon this interview! So cool! Thank you for doing this. I love listening to people just talk music and life, so refreshing!!
"I want some of that pants money!" Cove is such an extraordinarily good singer. I also love that we both share love for Blindside. I would say to Cove, don't let an experience with a dead beat label dampen your love of music and how often you get on stage. Much love.
LOVED this interview and think its funny we all want things the way they were when younger. I cannot believe the man Cove turned out to be, I am 52 y/o and miss all he speaks of. I THANK GOD that KORN is still around because I let all my emotions and aggression out by them.
In Search of Solid Ground was definitely the most impactful Saosin album for me. Cove's lyrics were just so damn relatable to where I was in life at the time, it was uncanny.
Cove Reber is my favorite vocalist too there is a very unique emotion that is conveyed in his voice in all the songs he did with Saosin. His work in Saosin is close to my heart great songs and my childhood growing up with listening to vh1 countdown everyday. Those were the days man! Sadly all these crap reality TV shows took over through the years so they don’t seem to show vh1 countdown anymore but I am still here always looking for great music. Rock is not dead it’s still there it’s just a community we have to keep supporting 💕🎸👍🏻✨🎤
I love how Cove mentioned the Mars Volta. I would have thought that if he would bring up Cedric Zavala's super ambiguous big word lyric style; I would have thought foooor sure he would have referenced At The Drive In. You know because I would have thought for certain that At the Drive In was a Saosin influence, but im not that sure anymore.
In regards to some of Cove's comments: There are interesting musical advances in instrumental rock/metal. See Polyphia's New Levels, and Plini's Sunhead.
I've felt the way he feels about heavy music. Knocked Loose is good. A lot of other bands have been disappointing. I would say the emo tinged stuff is the most exciting scene right now. That's where you can find stuff that's exciting right now.
Love this interview. Love Cove’s style. Get Justin Shekoski in this new band. I know some crazy shit went on with him but like Cove, he is so unique and talented.
@@cayeminterviews What's your source for this being the case? I've been searching for a while and cannot find anything other than this comment, and the fact that Cove hates the song(could be for other reasons of course). Thanks in advance, and great work with the interview :)
Dang one of the best singers , ever, stopped making music cuz his heroes said he wasn’t good, that’s fucking nuts , I know there’s more to it but damn that’s sad
Crazy man, I have a lot of empathy for Cove's feelings about people's cynicism and apathy, within music scenes and without. I'm a little more radical than he is about it, I kinda just wanna fucking shake people awake sometimes. I appreciate Anthony Green's once in a thousand year talent, but his ideas always seem very confused to me - but he's almost an entirely driven by emotion guy. Cove is very different, a bit more driven by reason and a desire to just find balance I think. Just my read.
If you're looking for something as good as nirvana you have to follow geniuses. Andy hull, for instance. Also mewithoutyou, if you can get over the singer's voice, is unbelievable.
I think it’s also worth noting in watching this video because while the music for Dead American is well produced and catchy. The song titles made me feel like I should myself research the Alt Fact of may this musician I like be an Alt Right supporter because I need to know if one of their shows could be an unsafe place for myself and my partner. Basically... fact determined I’m not fucking coming
The interviewer definitely pissed me off with some of those questions but ig it's to be expected with some Dead American songs named like Alt Facts. From his lyrics and responses here it's clear he considers himself more of a centrist or apolitical... But man some of the lines off their newest album are questionable, especially in Hate Speech. Maybe it's copium but I'd like to think from his "just live your life" attitude he's in support of people like us, just that he's speaking from his own privileges without fully understanding what others go through.
Please pass along, if you can, how Cove IS saosin for so many people, Ant started it, but Cove made them a real respectable band. Its boggles me he isn't the singer of Chiodos, Dance Gavin Dance, etc. He's the guy to make bands relevant again. Not just his voice, but the words he writes.
As a trans person who gets unwanted attention almost everywhere I go... almost this whole interview is speaking from a point of view of riding on their white male privilege. I wish I could ignore everyone’s bullshit. Sometimes that’s just not an option for me. How’s that for an Alt Fact. You only get to be ignorant because being born a white dude worked out for you and no one feels the need to randomly just ruin your day or have to worry about your personal safety in almost all situations. You’re literally wearing a ‘New World Order’ shirt dude... wtfff.
The entire interview is awesome! 1:16:48 is where they begin discussing Cove's departure from Saosin if you're curious.
MVP
Thank u bro

Oh man, this was like sitting down with a friend you haven’t seen in years and catching up. Such a good interview.

Pretty vague tho

Cove was the best thing to ever happen to Saosin. I was so gutted when he wasn't in the band anymore.
oof
I liked Cove and Anthony tbh.. followed both of them.
He couldn't sing and he sucked. If you had a band and your vocalist sucked, you'd fire them right?
@@Yeomannn what, he was an incredible singer and still is.
He is back baby

This guys a LEGEND!
we need another Cove interview especially to see how it came about him rejoining Saosin

Great interview!!! Hope you follow up with another one now that New Nostalgia is out and it’s freaking amazing!!!!🎶🖤
How am I just seeing this?? Glad Cove is still doing music.
One hour of awesome talks! Cheers for Dead American!
It’s crazy how he used to look up to them then became bandmates with them in such a short time. Anything is possible man with God man.
Man all of your interviews are the best ❤️
We need more people like Cove in the LDS Church! Love ya Cove!

Got endless love for Cove. He really took Saosin to a whole other level of awesomeness ❤
the power of emo vocalists, so keep playing the music in your position, I support you proudly, keep working friends🤘🧔

hell no, he wasn't the nicest person to Cove. Why put them both together again?
@@Covers-and-Commentary they have probably made up by now don’t you think?
@@H8in2R4G3 nah man Saosin completely cut ties with him as did the Used because he’s a prick.
this dude is cool as shit, saw them with of mice and men and he jumped in the pit with us.
Cove looks like a guy I wouldn't trust in my house. For real though, thanks for your time in Saosin and being a huge part of my childhood!
what does that mean
I miss cove in Saosin
I remember in an interview from yrs ago, some of the band members were adamant NOT to hire Benson to produce. Anyone know why?
GameOfInches that’s addressed in this interview lol watch the whole thing
Cove is amazing
Crazy learning that the whole band hates Changing, didn't know the story behind the song until today. That's like my favorite song by them too...
Yo so why does Cove hate the song Changing again? I think I missed something
Everyone in the band hated it. Label guys came out to make them create a single that was “radio friendly”.
"Screw both sides" Totally agree. Love this dude
your chinese fan is here, dont give up
The band he was talking about is Brokencyde
I'm way too excited about this hahaha
So dope dude, Cove has been my hero for years. I literally based my character and persona off this guy
insta subbed. interviewing the legend himself.
"So tell me is it RIGHTTTTT...... To FEEEEEEEL like. We're-"
ONLYY GETTING SMMMALLLERR
Cove with a beard!!
What’s the story with Changing?
not much of a story other than the fact that it was a studio planted song (not written by the band)
Changing was probably my favorite song on that record
