This was Fantastic. I had a great time watching this. Go Edward. This video is top notch. I watched the Real Table version awards show all the time and I am glad we have a Virtual one. We can have fun debating the nominee's and the winners but to have a Awards show is fun to watch. Thanks!!!!!
Thanks so much for making this video! I really enjoyed seeing a round up of the incredible year! Just as a slight honest criticism, I personally didn't really like the continuous applause effect. Maybe consider using it more sparingly? I more enjoyed hearing you talk and share about the tables. Regardless, thanks so much for all you do for the community! Ultimately, just do what makes you happy!!! 😁 Thanks so much!
Happy new year! 🎆 And a small thank you for all the monthly videos and for this wrap up. This vid reminded me what a great year 2023 was for virtual pinball! I can agree with everything you said. Well, except Sponge Bob is not mere "children's table"! 😉 Sponge Bob was never that big over here, but that table still it puts a smile on my face when I play it. It's one of those tables that I just can't skip when I'm browsing. And I found that table (plus so many others!) thanks to your monthly vids. So here's to 2024 and the next 12 months of Digital Victory highlights!
Hey DV, Great Award show! Glad Darkest Dungeon got table of the year, I totally agree with this pick considering all the work that went into it. Can't wait to see what comes out in 2024!
Another great video! Thank you for making these. These always help me flesh out my table collection. I’m really curious about which Atgames machine you play with and your setup. As much as I’d love to build a full-blown VP table, I just don’t think it’s going to happen, or at least not soon. I’m starting to consider picking up an Atgames table that I can connect my gaming rig up to to also play Pinball FX3/FX and VPX tables through, but I’m not really sure where to start.
I was watching one of your other videos and the John Wick table blew me away at the end of the game with the bullet holes in the glass. Such an awesome touch and the kind of thing that I love that digital tables can do, really elevates that theme.
Couldn't agree more! I love the digital approach. I first saw how versatile it could be when I played the Space Invaders table and then the point was really driven home with the Natural History games - watching those clouds move about the table and then seeing a pterodactyl fly through them was simply awe-inspiring.
@@LumpsPinball Yes, I thought that would probably seem to be the reason, but it is a 2023 release. The flow of that table is so natural, artwork and sound is superb.
Yes indeed, 2023 was an amazing year, wasn't it? If the only tables I had on my machine were just from 2023, it would be an awesome machine. Thanks for watching buddy! Appreciate having you on board!
You're welcome, Tiger! Glad you enjoyed it, I had fun putting it together. Although it was aggravating, having to pick winners, knowing so many other tables are great too.
It's a great one, man - and honestly, there's probably another 10 tables that are worthy of being included. No disrespect to any of the incredible tables and designers that are not showcased.
@@digitalvictory8266 I've just discovered the delights of vr pinball and I now only play in vr. I did contemplate getting a atgames cab but I think I will just get a vpin controller instead. A best VR room and table category would be great and monthly mentions too. The 3D depth you get in vr just feels like you're standing in front of a real pinball table. I can't go back to playing on a flat screen now. My hope would be that the vpx developers integrate mixed reality so we can play a table in our real rooms.
@@austintse5719 Some examples are Rollercoaster Tycoon, SpongeBob, Haunted House. They are more than just a virtual game room with the table. E.g. Rollercoaster Tycoon is situated in a waiting area where a rollercoaster keep coming in, stops, and the starts again. So the VR room is animated as well. But there are many more, but then I would have to review this years tables again…
Ok, now I feel like I'm spamming the thread here but I feel compelled to ask - (and no need to answer of course) are you using measurable criteria when choosing the winners in each category? Do you have a list of bullet points graded from 1-5 (or whatever scale you may use) to determine an overall score? Or is the decision made simply by evaluating your own reactions to the sounds, lighting, music etc? There's no wrong answer of course, I'm just curious.
No, no - that's a great question and very fair. It's my own opinions and evaluations after multiple plays, and watching many videos. They're based on all the things I talk about during the video: gameplay, artwork, lighting, music, etc. Also - how the table makes me feel when I play it. I won't name any tables specifically, but playability and fun are EXTREMELY important to me. There are tables that are NOT fun (to me) simply because can't keep the ball going long enough to enjoy it. Are they too hard? Am I just too sucky a player (very possible - not in any way diminishing that aspect) - but I can only judge it based on MY thoughts/feelings. Anyway, buddy - I hope that answered your question. Thanks Dani!
@@digitalvictory8266 Thank YOU! I appreciate the honest and candid response. I totally get it. "...playability and fun..." Kind of says it all right there!
This was really fun! But it was weird seeing some original tables get nominated for "table of the year" but not "original table of the year", but I guess that was a way to get more tables into the conversation. Instead, I might've made the categories "Best Recreation", "Best Re-skinned Original Table" (eg Darkest Dungeon) and "Best Original Table" (eg Die Hard).
Yeah man, I got behind the curve (time-wise) and struggled on exactly what to include and where. Next time will DEFINITELY be tighter! I did the best I could with the time I had - next year (now that I have the format done, etc) will be much better! 👍
Yes!! A Puppack Category would have been awesome - great suggestion. Will definitely add that to the 2024 Award Show! Latest version of Big Trouble was indeed from 2023; and thanks for info on John Wick. Appreciate you watching Mario, thanks for the suggestion!

Excellent VDO Ed. Great concept. How about an annual Raspberry/Crappy Award Show?
😁
LOL
But no, I don't think I would do that.
Thanks for sharing your expertise!
Thank you SO much! Appreciate you watching my videos! Team Victory for the Win!
Thanks for the kind words
Thank YOU guys for all your hard work in making such amazing tables! Happy New Year!

Great list. Thanks for making us aware of these. What a community eh?
We're all extremely blessed and fortunate to have so many great designers/creators!
Very Cool awards show I would love to play the The Exorcist table
Thanks Ellis! 👍
Great video, DV! I can't wait to get my ALP set up to play a lot of these tables.
Right on Dani!

Yeah, as great a year as 2023 was for Virtual Pinball, I'm betting 2024 is going to be even better!

Thanks Keith - really appreciate you watching!
Wow! Awesome video. I ordered some merchandise to support the channel ❤
Hheeyyy!! You ordered the shirt!!
Thank you!!! Much love! 💕
Where is CyberRace? One of the best VP Originals ever made if you ask me. Rest of nominees and winners are great choices!
Thanks for the input - a fair comment! Will deep a little deeper next time.

Appreciate you watching Charlie!!! Glad you enjoyed it, my man!
Can you provide links to all the tables please? Hope to setup virtual pinball for my son soon on his legends micro from Xmas. Thanks!
Can do! I'll add that to the description! (probably tomorrow though)
I have added all the links in the Video Description! 👍

Darkest Dungeon is not a reskin, it just used a donor table for the table layout. Reskins are mainly art/aesthetic changes.
@@stevemcnair-fq6lh I've always thought of reskins as tables with an identical layout, but we can call it a mod instead, since the dev did.
