- Part 1 of 4. Flail chest presents with at least two fractures of at least three consecutive ribs, typically caused by blunt injuries to the anterior or lateral thorax. It has profound effects on ventilation.
Traumatic chest injuries often negatively affect the patient’s ability to ventilate, exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide, and/or sustain adequate perfusion.

My brothers accident happen last year ne doctor said he got flail chest, 6 ribs were broken and Docotr suggest for surgery but there’s other thing Docotr said wait for 2 month if u don’t wanna do surgery and let’s see how it heals n all. We r giving necessary medicine n injection and let’s see how it goes after 2 months and after 2 month recovery was good and doctor said now don’t need to do surgery

My fingers and nails are mildly clubbed. I first noticed it 5 years ago (it may have existed before). Now I am 22 and recently someone told me lung cancer and congenital heart disease are the most common causes of it. Can I have any of those diseases? Never smoked
