- In this video I enjoy a spin on my Johan Gustavsson Bluesmaster 59. I'm playing it through a Klon KTR and Vemuram Jan Ray stacked into a Blankenship Twinplex over an ambient loop that I created. It is an inspiring instrument and I hope the video conveys how musical of a voice it has.

Congratulations with your new guitar.
Sounds amazing.
Question, what would you say are some of the differences from this one from your Bartlett?
Thanks for making these videos.
Thanks and my pleasure, Michael! My Bartlett sounds more like a great Les Paul while the JG is a bit more refined. The JG has much better upper fret access. The nitro on the Bartlett has a unique feel and is checked/checks easily. Both finishes feel great, but the JG isn’t checked/probably won’t check easily). For whatever reason, the Bartlett is more of an all rounder for me while a gravitate to the JG for lead only. It has a stellar, warm, vocal quality to it that is familiar yet unique. Those are the most notable differences in my examples and both builds are top notch.
One more question regarding Your Guvstassen Guitar.
How would you describe the neck?
Thick, thin, tapered things like that?
Yep your playing is ace!
It’s a big neck and was advertised as such by the seller who also said it was the best of 7 JG BM’s he’s had. It’s larger than a typical 59 C shape, but very comfortable. I want to say it’s .92 at the first fret.
