Lots to say on this one. I had mentioned power-ups before, and it looks like Jean has a new one shown in this episode: psychometry. Instead of just mind reading, she can now gleam other people's past history by reading the psychic residue on foreign objects. She was able to see SO much of Bastion's past simply by touching a drawing he made. Also, the scene where the Prime Sentinels are standing over an unconscious Rogue totally took me back to the Stephen King movie Salem's Lot. Also, the Summers finding the old woman at Bastion's childhood home totally reminded me of Harry Potter and Hermoine meeting the disguised Nagini in Godric's Hollow. My absolute FAVORITE X-Man is Rachel Summers (Scott and Jean's daughter, and Cable's sister), so it was completely cool to see her appear in Cable's retelling of the future where she's helping rebuild a bridge. It was nice that the writers were able to give Scott, Jean and Cable a bonding adventure together. Watching them escape the Prime Sentinels, I was again reminded of the DC Comic's OMAC invasion storyline. The Sunspot mother storyline is totally messed up. That she displayed to everyone that her finances hold more importance than the welfare of her son...just wrong. Kurt showing his seeing Rogue as a sister is heartwarming. I don't know if the writers are going to keep the fact that Valerie Cooper was the leader of Forge's X-Factor team, or if they are keeping her separate from that team in this universe. If she was their leader, I can't imagine what those members will feel when everything comes out on what she's done. The one thing I completely don't get though, the sentinels were created to stop the evolution of normal humans into a new stage, but Bastion and his brood are doing that anyway. Instead of becoming mutants, they're progressing the future for humans to become cyborgs. Tomato, tomoto. I'm loving Jubilee's new outfit, but I think she got that outfit in the comics once she was transformed into a vampire. P.S. Rob rocks
Jean's psychometric exposition dump was almost too much but then I remembered that this show does everything at brisk pace and just accepted it. I admit that I don't know modern Sunspot all that well (other than he is still very rich) but I remember him when he was first in the New Mutants and he could do none of what he was doing. He basically had super strength. When Gyrich said they were placing dominoes, he wasn't kidding. Forge is coming back with Storm and he's going to be instrumental in curing this plague, with some help from Beast.
I think most of us did. Each episode has so much going on I don’t think our brains compute it all. I end up watching lots of other reactions and the episode 1-2 more times and then the emotions kick in big time
I have a question what happens to the rest of the world now that magneto cut power to the whole world he took out the sentinels but also set back our economy and our way of life
I think this is why Magneto has never used this technique before. He knows the risks and he felt that this was his only and last option to handle this level threat. I honestly agree with his decision but LORD…..the consequences that will inevitably follow is a lot. Omega Red being inadvertently released is a whole high level threat all on its own. Val Cooper said that Magneto hadn’t spoken a word since Genosha. I am quite sure he used that time to plan and weigh his options in what measures to take if and or when he found a way out of there. Even when he was released he still didn’t say anything. Just up and straight shot to the North Pole where “enough “ was all that was uttered. The plot is so amazing, this

This episode made me feel hopeless. If Magneto is right that means tolerance and coexistence is impossible and one race has to kill off the other one to survive. That is a depressing thought. I am unsure how Xavier can fix this. Amazing episode and I cannot wait to see what happens next.

They changed Bastion’s origin, he didn’t merge with Mastermold and Nimrod until he was older. The Nimrod joining with his dad is new as far as I know. How cold is he to mutate his own mother, I mean I’d do it 😈

The X-Men cameoed in the fantastic four animated series so they are within the same universe. Aliens do exist in the x-men animated universe, also there was the brood episode in the original series, so I think it's common knowledge. This show is so good though. Love it. Still think Val Cooper is Mystique but she's playing the long con. She also seems to have an interest in Rogue. When Sebastian Shaw told her that Magneto would only rule genosh if Rogue came along, she asked in shock "what did she say?" And looked even more shocked when Rogue flew in and she and Magneto kissed.
Remarkable writing. What's very telling is many, many people are watching this - and still are clueless about the messaging in this show. Personally, X-Men I hope to see before the series ends is Havok, Colossus, Shadowcat (Kitty Pryde), and Iceman.
Have you ever heard of or read a novella called, “The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas”? I won’t spoil it for anyone who hasn’t, but it’s a 1970s piece about the price of utopia… and how people could choose to justify it to themselves, or not. The scary thing about this version of Bastion - besides how they gave him an MO that he can reason through and is applicable to our world (compared to the comics where he’s just… so hateful of mutants, that when he ended up in a world without them he engineered their existence just so he had them to kill and torture) - is that he’s a parallel to the mutants themselves; a later, more “superior” being. Heck, remember how MCU!Ultron was stated by Vision to be a unique lifeform that he regretted the need to destroy? That’s Bastion, in a way… I really don’t know if Magneto being let out when he was, is actually part of the plan; he’s utterly justified at this point in declaring war, but it’s something Bastion can certainly use… How will this conclude, in the end? We shall see in the next couple of weeks.
Several things I want to add: If Madelyne is really, actually dead, I’m going to be annoyed. Not because of the way she seems to have perished, but because it feels like her setup for an arc would have been cut off at the knees; why have her leave the mansion only to kill her a scant two episodes later? I get the point Beau DeMayo was making with Genosha and how tragedy is indiscriminate, but… unlike Remy whose death creates good story and character potential (same if Magneto had died), I feel like Naddie dying was too clean ultimately. We’ll see, but I’m still hoping she and other mutants are Sinister’s captives for now. Lesser point, but I’m pretty sure Cable’s future showed an elderly Lorna Dane/Polaris, aka Magneto’s non-Wanda daughter. You guys might have noticed or not (or I completely missed you referencing her), but I’m surprised you didn’t mention her. The Spider-Verse idea of “canon events” is not like fixed points, the latter being about events in the timeline you can’t interfere with. Canon events are more like… narrative causality, if you will; each Spider-person is a chosen guardian of their Earth, and they have similar notable life events like an “Uncle Ben” or the Captain who dies. Miles wasn’t meant to be Spider-Man but because he did, his Peter Parker died for his origin story (while the world without one went to hell).

Another: how did bastion create so many prime sentinels that he covered the planet? Without raising any alarm? Did no one died or went to the hospital in those days? And why did Bastion not just put a bomb or something inside magneto? Why leave him unguarded with the only good that has explicitly told him she doesn't trust him? It's a great great f-king show. Tier S. And part of that, it that it now when to explain and when people won't care that there's not a complete answer. Such as when Logan know Magneto declared war
I think Logan assumes an EMP on that scale as to be a mutant. The only mutant he can think of is Magneto. Magneto surviving the Genosha Massacre probably isn't that far fetched to the X-Men considering all the things that happened.

I was thinking that also, but why are the prime sentinels not reacting to her X gene, they can detect Morph. Why not her?
