Like father-like son ! Amit ji was as good a singer as his father Kishore da was. He has sung some really good songs which are hummed even today. 'Aati rahengi bahare, jaati rahengi bahare' from Kasme-Vaade (1978) is one such good song which he has sung with his father and it seems has bettered him ! I know it would be a big statement but some times it feels he was a better singer than his father. But unfortunately he hasn't got the recognition and fame as Kishore da has. All through his singing career he lived under the shadow of a big tree and despite being an excellent artist, just couldn't garner the same following as his illustrious father has. Maybe destiny has played its part.

I know it would be a big statement but some times it feels he was a better singer than his father.
But unfortunately he hasn't got the recognition and fame as Kishore da has.
All through his singing career he lived under the shadow of a big tree and despite being an excellent artist, just couldn't garner the same following as his illustrious father has.

Amit Kumar is a great singer. He had sung numerous superhit and evergreen songs from 70's to 90's,but the only problem is that people are not aware of it that those songs were sung by him. He had numerous superhit and blockbuster songs to his credit from 'Bade acche lagte hain' to 'Bole chudiyaan bole kangana',from 'Laila o laila' to 'Dekha jo tujhe yaar dil mein baji guitar' and from 'Dushman na kare dost ne wo kaam kiya hai' to 'Kajal kajal teri aankhon ka'.
