Great show, Was in Front Stalls too. Shame I had to leave half way through The Musical Box (second encore) because of trains! Hope I didn't miss too much!
I don't know about your show, but it was almost certainly identical to the one I saw in Basingstoke the night before, on Fri 05 Oct. If so, all you missed was another perfect rendition of (the song) The Musical Box, the only difference being that, this time he sang it in the fox-head, rather than the old man mask.
Thanks for letting me know! I got to the point where he had come on with the fox head, and left a couple of minutes after that, so not too much missed. I think everyone was expecting Steve Hackett to pop up as he was there the night before! As far as I know that didn't happen!
Not bad except for the drum triggers. If you're going to do it up, do it to it's completion. Also, didn't Phil rock a beard and hockey jerseys around this time?
A bit disapointed with this show they have put on...I really think it underwellming. The whole purpose of this band to me is to see an attempt to exactly recreate the shows, we will never have the chance to see. Classic art rock Genesis shows with all the antics involved. I just hope they get back to do the shows like they did. To me this is not worth the while...The black show", "Selling England" "foxtrot" definately are.
I felt somewhat the same when I saw the songs list. I saw The Musical Box about seven times, including their very first Selling England by the pound tour (with the first signer). Then I watched this video : ua-cam.com/video/D4S5kTX7CgM/v-deo.html and I agree with Sébastien. After all these years, they have earned the right to put together this kind of show :) I'm just glad they are still touring and sharing their talent with us.
I get your point. This was my first time. I hate tribute bands normally because they ether go for look alike crap sound or good sound wrong vocalist. The Musical Box blew me away. My first Genesis Concert was Wind & Wuthering and I totally got the authenticity, musically and visually. I never thought I would pay £50 to see a tribute act ever. The authenticity of the band is to be recommended and should be the standard of all who follow.
@@clown247 I was blown away each and every time I saw them. But the very first show I saw was very special. At the encore, just when the signer was approaching the mike to announce the next song, someone in the audience shouted "The Knife !". The singer said "The Knife..." and they started the song. Exactly as we can hear it on the Genesis Live album. Maybe this guy who shouted in the audience was a member of the crew and it was just part of the show, but I prefer to think it wasn't planed.
Nice one! I was at that show, absolutely incredible night!

I think there is a video up of (the song) the Musical box from Saturday night. However it is filmed in portrait :(
Great show - extremely faithful and authentic.
Brillant...
