What a treat to hear four of the world's finest flutists play such a delightful piece! Some pieces join the standard repertoire for a good reason. Anton Reicha was a teenage friend of Beethoven and played flute, violin, and piano. He turned to composition later in life, eventually settling in Paris. He is best known for his woodwind music; he also composed Operas.
What a pleasure to hear and see these notoriously fine flutist having a good time for their benefit and ours. Flutists do enjoy this sort of thing especially at a good party after a fine concert. Don Griffis
Beautiful, thanks so much. It is lovely to hear this charming and together performance, in contrast to the Erato recording of Rampal, Rampal, Marion, and Beuf (four French guys) of the 60's. Marion jokingly told me he wasn't able to hear which playing was his on that recording. I'm glad to move forward and be able to know and hear what's happening now, flutewise, in 2013.

Flute playing is such a happy sound, and brings out orchestral music very well🥰
