Thanks Chalieoscar, we hope you can take something from this video, thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed it.🙌 Manual Choke is also a valuable tool in the tuning proces and with fuel diagnostics. Use it as it saves time.
I added some 10W40 to the inlet of the carb and it lubed the choke. Ran the moped around the block twice and it runs well now. I was not able to remove the 2 screws that hold the choke to the carb. Good video, I learned everything I know about auto-chokes from this video.
If i were to plug the e choke out, the cable that goes to it. Would it be like running the bike completely warmed up but all the time? And also if i were to plug it out when the bike is completely cold and the ignition off would the choke be off and completely down?
Thanks for this very informative video! I have a new scooter under 400 km. It seems to run good but before starting it, I usually need to turn the throttle once and start it up. The rpm is only about 1,000 to 1,500 rpm's so I have to baby the throttle a few minutes (or it will stall out) until it starts ideling at around 2,000 to 2,500 rpm's and then it's fine. Do you think it could be the auto choke is not working?? Thank you
Check the choke for sure, also the cary may not be adjusted correctly and also you may have an air leak so check from the airbox to the manifold just to be sure. this should be done from the dealer at the workshop prior to delivery to customer so if you have an issue reach out to the selling Dealer👍
my Gilera DNA 180 starts immediately from fully hot or fully cold but needs a bit of throttle to start up when its hot but been off for a few mins. It fast idles cold, idles like shit for a few seconds then fast idles again gradually settling into its idle. When started from warm but not fully hot it needs little bit of throttle to start, idles rough for a couple sec, fast idles at like 2k rpm for 30 sec or so then back down to set idle. Closed idle mixture screw causes engine to eventually die so ik pilot jet is fine and the throttle response is fantastic. I read that these auto chokes have 'wax capsule' in them which expands with heat to push the plunger out. Can this deteriorate over time and how well protected is it against chemicals like fuel, carb cleaner/non-polar solvents etc. Like the choke obviously works but I dont think its as responsive as it once was (2ndhand unit from ebay as i need OEM) or is sticking a bit. Also I'm actually really surprised at how much electrical shit does actually deteriorate gradually rather than it either works or it doesnt and it seems to be a big thing with 'solenoid' stuff like this.
Is this for 2 stroke and 4 stroke scooters ? My scooter hard start unless i unplug the inricher then will start. And have problems idle. . it didn't used to do this .
The auto choke system is the same for all types, it is a system which enrichens the fuel supply, the choke may look different but operates under the same principle.
Hey so my Aprilia SR50 starts first kick in the morning and it starts off with high rpms and drops after a few seconds but if I let it idle for 2mins it dies. Also when i start riding the throttle response is poor and sputter before taking off even when its warm. Could it be a choke issue?
Are these auto chokes generally the same thing? I would like to convert my Peugeot Django 125 to a cable operated manual choke. Do you think yours would fit?
Will it work with any carb? I have a honda Dio AF18 and the E choke has a faulty connection. One of these seems like a perfect replacement, especially for cold starting. Question though? How long do you usually let the choke stay on for the manual one?
