primpumpkin The packages of resin I buy is 236 ml and it can make quite a few of them.I can't quite remember how much I paid for it maybe close to $30.
Wish I would have found you in time for Halloween but that's alright.. Your videos are just in time for our gingerbread Christmas 😄 so excited to get crafting..
Hi i was wondering if u can use tge gel food coloring or the water based? Just curious. I know u said to use the oil based but i wondered why or if it had to be that specific kind. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
Victoria Kelley I used the oil base because that is the preferred stuff for that clear red but I’m not sure if you can buy oil base anymore so definitely use the water base! I use craft paint for all my fake candies I made out of resin which is a water base :)
Alisson BeamingSmile Hi! For the candy apple I use a clear epoxy resin ,to tint it red I use an oil base red food dye.For the frosting on the cupcakes I use feather weight spackle which is a light weight crack filler !Thanks !!
I finally made these yesterday. My color was lighter than yours, but I ran out, so it was all good. I used 3 oz of each bottle of Easy Cast and it covered one large apple, 6 mini apples and the rest I poured into a silicone heart shaped mold. I put them on parchment paper and they came out so cute. I don't know why it takes me so much time to get myself in gear to try new things - you make them look so easy - but a failure would mean I would not try a second time. However, I am going to try to make caramel apples with what I have left of the Easy Cast. Now to get a good color mix. I don't suppose I could use acrylic craft paint, could I?
@@thepinktree3490 Hi I did my candy apples and when said put it on wax paper when I lifted up my apples when they were dry Why did the wax paper get stuck to my apples ☹️
Miss Kay Actually I've looked into the fake caramel apple, haven't make one yet but I plan to!From what I've seen use modge podge and caramel coloured craft paint !
LOL...Soooo, I'm back, because I need to know how to make Faux Baby Head candy apples, lol! If that makes sense....Im going to use baby doll heads and put a stick in the top and do the rest like I would a candy apple. I wonder if this will work! Lol, I have a Creepy Babydoll theme going this year in my antique booth and an abundance of Baby Doll Heads )O_0 Lol!! We'll see!!!
Ahh, Ive never worked with resin before, well, not beyond the 2 part you get in a hardware store for glueing things...its always made me nervous and I dont know why. Can you use paint to color it?
Em22 Hi! Sounds like a creepy cool idea! I use craft paint most of the time but for the red I used oil base candy colouring.Have fun with your project!❤️
Oh for sure!Would have to be after the resin dries though as you can’t tip it to put the nuts while it’s wet. It’s different than when you use paint.Add clear glue to add your fake nuts.

How can we make a cute 24" gingerbread? Would you use foam board or maybe insulation painted with mod podge, for a christmas tree or indoor deocation
Yvette Costa Umm I’m not sure!LOL
ThePinkTree I’d love to figure that out n do a pastel faux gingerbread for a tree but big lol
U look like princess diana with that hair🥰

@@thepinktree3490 ok again thank u so much❤ i am new to this but u have inspired me so much.
Victoria Kelley Wonderful!🥰❤️
If I wanted to make the candy coating really Goth looking...how would I get the coating to look almost black? Like a darkest red?
You could mix red with a little black!
Bonjour j'adore se que vous faite 😍 qu'es que vous utilisez pour recouvrir la pomme ? Et pour faire la crème des cupcakes ? Merci de votre reponse

Lynn Drake Yes you could !
Lynn Drake Oh and don’t worry everything doesn’t come out perfect the first time for me either !😅
@@thepinktree3490 Hi I did my candy apples and when said put it on wax paper when I lifted up my apples when they were dry Why did the wax paper get stuck to my apples ☹️
Can you add the fake nuts to the resin candy apple
Tina McGee I can’t see why not !
@ThePinkTree, love the video. Where did you get your shirt from? 😍😍😍
Taco Belle Oh thank you ! The shirt I bought a few years ago ,they wouldn’t be available anymore!
Make sure you stir the resin for the manufactures time or it will not get hard.
Nice tutorial! Where do you get the casting epoxy resin from?
Dnai DuBose Thank you ! You can buy resin from Michael’s craft store or online! I found a great deal on eBay !:)
ThePinkTree Thank you!
Would this work for "caramel apples" as well or is the Epoxy too clear?
Miss Kay Actually I've looked into the fake caramel apple, haven't make one yet but I plan to!From what I've seen use modge podge and caramel coloured craft paint !
ThePinkTree thank you!! I look forward to seeing it in the future 😁
My resin just comes right off the apple?? I have tried twice now, what can I be doing wrong?
There isn’t even a thin layer?Try a second coat or try slightly sanding your apple with a low grit sandpaper.
Only use resin outside with gloves.
It can make you really sick.
I open up windows and/or door!

Well, this absolutely wrecked my fake apple. As the resin dried, it crumpled my apple.
Kitten Pickles Oh that’s never happened for me !
Kitten Pickles What was your apple made out of ?
Just a regular Michaels craft apple.
It might be a red vs green though. Reds worked fine. Thanks for the video and keep up,the good work!
Kitten Pickles I’ve been planning to use green ones I’ll see how it works for me ! Thanks !
