I did a couple of necks in walnut this year and you are spit on , planing it is just the most satisfying experience. From the smell , the ease and the beautifull surface left behind its just amazing.
Nice looking set... sounds similar to Claro from earlier in the series. Quick question - the bridge and the bridge backplate are the first points of contact for the strings transferring the energy into the body of the guitar via the top... with this in mind what developments have been made over the years to maximize this transference of energy via the bridge? Simple wee question for a Friday night Tom...lol. K.
I love hearing your love for the walnut! I love the look of it. My next guitar, I want something unique and made by a craftsman with a love for wood, the feel, the smell, as that is also what I feel when I play guitar! I've just subscribed 🙂
I am not going to make a guitar. I am going to make two. I think there is enough wood to make one small-body guitar (think Little Martin or Taylor GS Mini) plus a small sibling in the form of a soorano ukulele. I play the uke and my wife plays guitar, so I recon a (slightly cheesy) "his&hers" combo will be perfect.
"There's magic in waiting." Loved that.

Beautiful tonewood
Also one of my favorites... right behind bastogne/paradox walnut.
Oh man, paradox is unreal, I recently passed on a set and I'm so bummed about it

I will add this to the queue of questions for the next Lutherie WTF?!
Cheers Tom... :)

@@davidhurry1964 I think it’ll be great. Amazing wood to work with and reasonably priced.

Let's compare some rosewood (tap tone test 😉)
Soon I will send you flamed Persian walnuts, herder than any one you ever tested, 🙂
