To think that all of these nut jobs were all running around New York at the same time. The 70’s and 80’s seemed to be a bloody time if you lived in certain areas of New York. DeMeo and his crew. Scarpa, Sammy the Bull and Gotti, Casso and Amuso.. it was a bomb going off constantly.

Someone that Joe Pesci might play. That was Roy DeMeo, and he ended exactly that way."

Another job well done. I was working at this job years ago in the early 90's and there was this Italian girl from Canarsie. Also one of the retiree's that was working at this place used to love to talk about these guys. The second woman knew Gambino's son Joey and I think Tommy when they ran Consolidated so she would tell me stories about them and seeing Don Carlo driving a brown Benz in Massapequa on occasion. Anyway the young girl from Canarsie was always urging me to read the book "Murder Machine". That book was about this whole crew of Roy DeMeo and Nino Gaggi. One of the craziest mob books I've ever read so if you're a reader def check it out. That girl i truly believe got married to a wiseguy. He just seemed different and I went to school on the South ; Shore, L.I. and it was a mobbed up neighborhood; he gave her a giant three karat rock, white gold. Beautiful.

Roy knew he was going to his death because he left his wallet and Vig book at home. According to MM, there were "admissions" by some of participants of how it went down. Roy took his coat off and sat down for a cup of coffee, and Nino came out of hiding and shot him, the 2 more from the Twins to show loyalty to Nino.

I didn't go door to door but I worked doing in-home sales of home improvement (roofs, windows, exterior coating, kitchen and bathroom remodeling, etc.) for a couple of years during Obama. This was in Los Angeles. I have a trunk full of stories of some of the weird and threatening characters I met. Somehow I got the rep that I would walk in anywhere so my boss's used to send me on the sketchy ones. I did have guns pulled on me. By crazy little old white trash "ladies". I once walked into a Samoan gangster sitdown. Fortunately the gang leader turned out to have been a student of my deceased father in the 8th grade and he remembered my dad fondly. I dealt with Hollyweird types whose home was outfitted like "The Silence of the Lambs" set. I had a surreal experience with a Rob Zombie lookalike where large rats were running around my feet in a mostly darkened room in a partially ruined house. There were more. Most people, thank God, are normal and nice but in Southern California we have far more than our share of strange ones.

Richard Kuklinski was a psychopathic liar. Most of what he claimed was demonstrably false, as with most hitman memoirs, including "I Heard You Paint Houses" by Frank Sheeran which Scorsese's film "The Irishman" was based on. Kuklinski certainly killed some people but he was basically a violent pornographer and pimp. He might have been on the Mafia's radar but he wouldn't have been trusted with anything important. DeMeo would have eaten him as a light breakfast snack.

Very good job. I asked a historian once if he agreed that Roy Demeo and his crew would have scared the Nazi's. He agreed. Roy Demeo was one of the most brutal people ever born.
I have a suggestion for a program. How did mobsters pay for houses and cars. Big ticket items. Not like they could show proof of employment. Imagine being a real estate agent and showing a mobster a house and asking financial questions. Or a car, did they walk in the dealership with a bag of cash?
Joe Coffee had said it was close to 200 murders. The bottom line is you can believe any number. They say the same about Gregory Scarpa. What ever the number is you believe it.

Paul never knew about the kid getting killed or how close it was to an all out war with the Colombians. Nino kept as much as he could about Roy's dealings under the radar, Just kept telling Paul how much money Roy was making. It was the stolen autos to kuwait that brought the Feds into the stolen car case. The heat on the crew reached critical mass once the Feds were involved. Roy knew he was in big trouble and actually started planning to kill Paul first. Roy and Freddie DiNome (the guy who was filming the BBQ) did a few practice runs with Freddie driving Roy on a motorcycle and Roy being the shooter. Could you imagine how with Roy's size and bulk it would have been him shooting as Freddy rips down the street? I think the blood in the backseat was from searching the car after the recorder had been found. Police may have gotten the reecorder but Nino got the tape. I agree with you also that he never would have meekly went to get killed, he either would have went on the attack or perhaps flipped if he was arrested. He wasn't going to just lay down. All of this happened after Roy bailed on Nino after they killed the Eppolito's and Nino got in a shootout trying to get away from the murders each had just committed.

You are totally wrong. Paul knew about the kid being killed. For one thing it was in the papers that this kid had been killed and paul knew it was roy. Nino kept as much as he could from paul but he knew about this hit. He didnt know all the details about the cuban drug dealers but he knew it was bad. Paul knew way more about roys doings than what nino told him

Also roy saved nino after that shootout that you said roy bailed on him. Nino got shot and the bullet from the cops gun was stuck in ninos arm. Roy snuck in the hospital and cut the bullet out of ninos arm and replaced it with another bullet to throw doubt on the shooting. Nino was aquited in that trial.

    • @gordontanner4407

@@jesseknorr8594 I love the way you start out with "You are totally wrong", and then concur with what I originally said, with "Nino kept as much as he could from paul" . Nino was shot in the neck, not the arm when he was arrested. Roy fled in an opposite direction entirely. Roy did not sneak into the hospital and remove the bullet. When first treated for the bullet wound Nino refused to let the Dr.'s remove the bullet. However they x rayed it while it was still in his neck. When he dug it out and flushed it he presented a slug his nephew had snuck in not Roy, youre way off on that claim. The prosecution presented the X ray at trial and it clearly was a differnet caliber than the one Nino said he dug out from his neck. Nino was convicted of assault. On appeal it was discovered Nino had bribed a Juror. This is ,my last comment on this video's subject. Beleive what you want I'm calling it as I remember it.
