  • Leaving Aruba to go back to the US is definitely a unique experience.
0:05 You need to get to the airport at least 3 hours before your plane departs because you'll go through customs and immigrations for both Aruba and the US at the airport. There are several lines you should anticipate waiting in for flight check in, passport checks, security checks, immigration, etc.
0:21 First, check-in with your airline and check your bags.
0:26 Aruba customs and security comes next. You wait in line for someone to check your passport, then you go through security, etc.
0:35 Next you enter a huge room where you pick up your checked luggage. You literally just walk around and find your luggage - there's no rhyme or reason as to where it might end up in the room.
0:40 Then you take your baggage though US customs and immigrations, recheck your baggage on a conveyer belt (the signs are clear for which belt goes to which airline), and then you'll go through security one last time. It's a lot of waiting in line, showing your passport, and taking on and off your shoes until finally you get to relax and wait for your flight in the airport.
0:59 There is a decent amount of food options where you wait for your flight; Sbarro, Nathan's, Auntie Anne's, Freshii, Cinnabon, Quiznos, Panda, Grab & Go, Carvel and a few restaurants.
1:04 Note: Saturdays are known for being the craziest day at the airport so pack your patience. Things are a little hectic and intense, but you'll make it to your flight as long as you get to the airport 3 hours before your flight.
1:10 There is an option to pay for a VIP service to skip to the front of every security line - I believe the price is around $150. An airline employee literally just walks you to the front of each line while everyone else gives you the evil eye.
1:20 The best part of leaving Aruba is when you land in the US, you can just get your baggage and go home because you already went through US customs and immigration in Aruba.

How hard is to complete the ED Card? I’m traveling in a few months and I’m a little concerned about it. Idk why 😂 but thanks God I found your playlist Aruba related :)

Oh, it’s super easy! It’s just filling out your passport information, address of where you will be staying, flight info, how many times you’ve been there - and then you should get the ED card via email as soon as you submit everything. Do it 7 days before departure just in case you need time to figure something out!🥰🙌

She’s right. Less than 15 minutes. Be sure to do it 7 days before your flight. Website will not let you do it sooner than that.

Flying out of Aruba sucks. If you’re going to the US, you’ll run into US Customs in Aruba. All it really does is delay the process of getting to your airplane. Not efficient at all. We spent 4 hours from the time we got to the airport to the time we boarded. The lobby area was packed like Viena sausages. There were up to 5 lines we got into to get the hell out of paradise. I loved the place but the hassle of leaving it makes it not worth it. All the stress you came to get rid off quickly comes back the moment you get to the Airport. You’ll need another vacation from the process.

Don't check bags. Do carry-on only if you can. fly home on a weekday. You'll thank me later. I absolutely HATE flying back to the US from this airport!
