How I Releather a Replica Title Belt (Part 1)

This is a (no so) short video in which I explain how I releather replica belts (what tools I use etc). I have had a number of requests for this. In this video I look at cutting the leather and punching the holes. Again, these are the steps that I take; other (more skilled) releatherers might disagree. If you want to releather your own belt, the cost at the outset is significant (several hundred dollars) and it takes a whole lot of practice. Nonetheless, it is possible. I use 8-10oz leather and all of my tools/supplies were purchased from Tandy Leather Factory (or a few from EBay).
Sorry for the shaky video. I'm not so good with filming.
I have posted another, shorter video that explains how I alter the leather cut for the main plate to make it more "TV accurate".

Really awesome video but hearing them belts crash on the desk and floor is scaring me haha 😂 awesome video iv just restoned my spinner and kinda want it on leather but with the figures ink strap iv warn it so it’s very floppy and looks like a tv belt but iv had it since 2008 haha good job though

For a releather I would buy an 8-10oz natural veg tan double shoulder. Youll get a few belts out of it.

His name is Rick and he runs a company called Establo leather in Guelph, but as far as I know they mainly deal in bulk leather items that they fabricate in their factory there. he just lets me in to buy a shoulder from time to time, but I have to physically go there.

why not just trace the replica strap?

You can do that actually, but I find that the straight edges never end up being perfectly straight and it's really easy
to be out by 1/8 of an inch without realizing it (until you attach the plates and it looks terrible).
