We used to sing this song. O come ye from Newcastle, Oh come ye there away and saw ye not my true love riding on a bonnie bay. Primary School was keen on folk tunes in the 1940's in England
Come you not from Newcastle? Come you not there a way? Oh met you not my true love Riding on a bonny bay? Why should not I love my love? Why should not my love love me? Why should not I speed after (him/her), Since love to all is free?
Delightful to watch! And so nice finally watch a UA-cam video without hearing a caller advise every figure, it's lovely to watch dancers who actually know what they are dancing :-)
Beautifully danced folks, and as stated before so delightful to watch people really enjoying the spirit of the dance. From an olde limey across the pond !!!
I didn't think so. They all were in the right place, but the most important thing is touching and interacting correctly. Failure to bow and scrape correctly is a forgivable novelty, but arm swings cannot be used with tradition garb. They must use the correct forms of hand hold or it could cause dancers to undress and wreck the set.
So basically the arm holds and bow and scrape is completely wrong. I would not call this the classic format. Indeed, these dancers should change and improve the aforementioned.

I thought that was lovely. Really enjoyed that. Well done all musicians and dancers.
I love the courtliness (for want of a better word) of these dances.
What a surprise to see my fellow dancers!! Hello darling Orly!!!

That's one of the key pleasures of English country dancing--the amazing variety and quality of tunes. --pbr
Very glad you like it, Bob; the dancers and musicians get the lion's share of the credit.
Good performance. Thank you for sharing this with us.
