I’m sad we missed the climax of the battle. I know you don’t have time to redo these long battles, but I wanted to give a place for all of us to grieve the lost record of how this battle turned around for the pre-modern army
That ending was... anticlimatic.
Happened to me today too. I was having a battle of spartans vs heavy knights that had to fight a huge zombie army before fighting each other and after more than two hours the thing was pretty balanced. Went to sleep for one hour and when i woke up things ended with a one sided win. I was like "the hell happened here?"
Likely the AI glitched and units stopped doing anything. A problem and you EBS who is that whenever it gets to the super late game the AI can bug out.
It happened in this very video they were some modern soldiers that just sat there chilling. For a bit.

For timelaspes, it really depends on the battle and where it's at. A long big battle should get a long timelaaspe. A battle against a lot of forces everywhere, like this one, needs shorter ones at different spots.

I also agree. The length should be determined by line movement, if the lines don't change much then a longer time lapse, if a line breaks or starts getting heavily pushed back go back to real time.
would love to see like 2000 holding the mountain against a massive army with with renforments spawning at the other side of the map

I think timelapses can be as long as you would like as long as once in a while we get to see a new perspective/side of the map. Also, I preffer time lapses over time skips. Regardless, though, great video :D

The reason people are angry about your timelapses is because of what is done in them. Some of the shorter ones could have shown a bit more. The longer ones tend to have the combat go off screen so you end up watching nothing

I don't think the Roman shields are deflecting bullets. But if they are, the devs need to patch that. No way a Roman shield can stop a 5.56.

There must be some kind of glitch with the modern soldiers. Considering how the battle was going, the outcome really doesn’t make sense.

Love the timelapses, the only thing I would change is adding sound, 30 seconds of near complete silence is somewhat unsettling if you have background noise the entire time. But that's just my opinion

Regarding the time lapses, you can add timestamps for them so its easier to skip for those who don't want to watch. Also, id like if we could see some of the action in the time skip, skipping from the modern soldiers dominating from them getting beaten off screen is a bit anticlimactic.

I don't know if it is possible, but if you could equip a US soldier with a sherman explosive shell but with a decreased range you could say that it is a rocket launcher trooper. it would be balanced by the reload time and the range. again don't know if it is possible or practical, but its just a thought
Modern soldiers need modern helicopters! It would be pretty sweet to get some black hawks and dragons sky units.

How differently would things go if units were limited to the amount of ammo they be able to carry, or at least had to stack piles of it to get more?

What might've given the ancient army the win is that enough bodies piled up to let them get out of the chokepoints - like what we've seen with zombies and river/bridge crossings - and then bum-rush the modern forces.

Do timelapses from higher up so we actually get to see change on a big scale. 20 seconds is enough. And please don’t miss the ending
Modern soldiers need heavy units with LMGs, tactical units with Snipers and DMRs at tactical positions and demolition units with RPGs in the mix also they need to throw grenades when they enemy is at a throwing distance.
I'd be curious what would happen if the modern army had a circular/box defense against these ancient armies on flat terrain.
In regards to time lapses I don't think its a problem of how long they are, rather than of how often you check back on them. A number of time lapses have just been left sitting well after the battle has moved on and nothing is happening in that location. There was one of these in the recent modern army vs troll video. Trolls took the bridge and there was no more fighting, but the time lapse kept going in that location. Long time lapses are great when they follow the changing frontline of a dynamic battle.
The tide definitely turns on the modern soldiers late in the game. This has been noted in several battles. They become every-man-for-himself and end up drawing off too many enemies to handle at once.
All clones vs zombies would be awesome.

The problem with sum of ur time lapses it’s the length it when A particular team over runs the area and the action moves out of view

Alright I don’t want to be that guy buttt. In all reality, any ancient warrior in metal armour has an Advantage because the bullets would just bounce off.
They probally wouldn’t tbh their armour isn’t as strong as u think. That’s like saying a metal ww2 helmet could stop a bullet
Well if metal armor really worked against bullets they would have used it durring the napoleonic wars. A bullet is very fast in a very small area, so all of the guns force is in one area. Metal armor was designed to stop the likes of a sword, that had a lot of force, but in a spead out area. That is also why stabbing would generally be more effective than slashing.
Lol, no. Not even modern kevlar body armor completely stops bullets. They can only take a few shots before becoming useless, depending on the caliber of the bullets. Ancient armor was built to stop slashes and stabs, not bullets.

For time lapses the melee vrs melee battles are best for time lapses because you can see the lines move but any battle where 1 team is just solely ranged then there less interesting. But that’s just my take at it

Could you do a battle where you control a unit in a small fight with worse odds than the enemy team and try to make your team win?
Timelapse is a situational call. If it's a long battle not much happening then go crazy till something happens. If it's a break thru or a major unit arriving then ccut it short. Me personally prefer the skip unless is a short time lapse but I'm easy going

Maybe you should lower the amount of forces if its taking too much time and you are going to skip everything anyways? Like whats the point of this video if we couldn't even see the ending of how the ancient army was able to turn it around.
In reality, shields are of no help against bullets, it’s just too inconceivable.

The Longer timelapse’s are better for, as you said, the massive larger battles, like on mount olympus, but when you do long ones in battles with smaller skirmishes, you skip/miss at least half of the battle which kind of defeats the purpose honestly. That’s just my opinion imo, I enjoy your videos either way

M4A4 is not a real gun. Its either just M4 or M4A1. M4 having burst fire while M4A1 has full auto. M4A4 is a made up designation in CS:GO.
The supply of ammunition would be impossible for this type of scenario. Each soldier might have 6-10 30 round magazines ready to go. I can reasonably carry 8 with one in the gun making nine. When they run dry you have to reload. Even with a speed loader it takes time.

Unrealistic. In that scenario, there wouldn't be a handful of modern soldiers dying of arrows. There would be loads dying of friendly fire.
And since when has modern military strategy been 100,000 guys with rifles? When modern soldiers want lots of bullets, they use machine guns. And to indiscriminately destroy everything in an area, there is artillery, or nukes, or gas.

Daily tactics in the next video you should make the modern soldiers into super soldiers more Health more damage longer range and faster firing rate would that be possible.
