These two guys need to do a whole album together. This is some seriously good stuff. One of the best original pieces of music I've heard in a while.
Took the words out of my mouth.
100% true
Most everything Todd does is awesome. This video paints another world our twisted society is birthing.
This tune was released nearly a year ago now. Todd is a master producer.
I listen to it frequently.
Never gets old. No extra cog.
These 2 Brothers are telling it like it is. Dudes like Todd and Thomas are WAY too rare in our World. This tune is so real.. it defies all of the common man/woman preconceptions.
Electrifying collaboration from two brilliant, creative renaissance men. Over five decades... Todd continues to creates music on his own terms... never mincing words in his social and societal commentary. The inspired, eclectic list of musical collaborators on Todd's new album, "Space Force" reflects how far reaching his influence is on so many respected music artists over a vast spectrum of music genres.
Dolby and Rundgren ALRIGHT !!!! WOOOO !!! Never thought I'd see the day that Thomas got hip and did a collab with t.r. I love it !!! ❤❤❤❤❤
my new favorite groove ...keepin' it real !!
Puzzle piece i atm the walrus like lyrics.
Brilliant
I know you brothers since before you were brothers
We had our outs, we all innit
Much love on the tracks brothers
This gem is heartfelt
To nobody's Dogs !
M A S T E R P I E C E 🔥
Todd needs to get all the people that collaborated on this album and tour. THAT WOULD BE SO FREEKIN AWESOME. HEY TODD !! CALL' M UP AND ORGANIZE SON!!!
The two legends! Seeing both live this year !
A great album. Listening to it right now.
Brilliant!
Maestros de los Maestros! Gracias!
Clever, dark and techno. The best of both artists in this collaboration. Apparently they met years ago due to their common interest in fusing computers and music and talked about doing something together. Here it is and it does not disappoint. When will we get a Todd/Gabriel collaboration? I'll wait...
Tremendous
Wow, good to see these two icons still creating.
And
.... First!?!
Been a while since a good song was made. This is it.
I think I’ve now listened to this about 20 times. Very ‘catchy’ and simple.
5 months later, over 50.
Plenty of great music out there and still being made...just don't look in the charts for it.
Boy you ain't kiddin !! I love this tune. ❤❤❤ IT'S GRITTY BABY .
Your not kidding 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I hear good songs all the time.
Helps that I'm not a half wit.🙀
This is a solid slab of sheer funkiness!
Damn good tune.
"groovy." - SHARED! - thanks, Annette
OMG, Todd, Michele and I had some fun evening together many years ago - and now this? Amazing!
Todd and Thomas?...I must be dreaming....or am I just blinded by science.
🕊
This needs to get licensed to Gearbox to get in the Borderlands franchise. Awesome beat and drive. Love the art for the video as well.
I desperately need to know who did the visuals for this!! I’m enamored
Nice groove.
Simplicity is always nice.
Boom Boom !
I am a surf !
❤❤❤❤
Cooool
Don’t need to be slave to any ideology or political party or intelligence agency… free yourself
Por fin.
Material muy muy serio.
Algo que refresca entre tanta musica de mierda.
Thomas is a Genius.
Nice use of a Beefheart lyric -Ashtray heart
Somebody's had too much to THINK!
@@michaelg.294 Hit me without thinking. Quirky lyrics do that. ua-cam.com/video/82gyb0cFJ20/v-deo.html
Plus Beatles and Stones references.

Two artists sing about an artificial intelligence that's created this paradigm and as we speak, mapping our behavioral activities as proof we never found out about our true selves (It seems to be a natural response to take something of value from someone without their knowledge that they possess something of value). That little red devil on our left shoulder or eerie voice in our heads we all know as individual egoism, well that's the dirty trick being played on us through our bad habits. We are real, they are not but if we don't conquer ourselves, we will be robbed of our chance for continued life, whatever the next adventure might be, and unfortunately along with them simply erased, or for lack of a better word deleted as if we never lived or existed, so what then, because none of this will matter because it never happened. (Funny Universe!) This shows where stand and just how far humanity has gotten in this universe. Damn Shame, but if we really knew about the power we possess, we could skip a few classes, to move up faster where things become easier and much more interesting.
I have this ‘thing’ for simplicity.
Best song on the Space Force album by far, IMO. The rest are either just OK or outright awful (Rivers Cuomo I'm looking at you). Wish Dolby would put out more music. I miss him. "And in my mind I still run free, along the marshes and the beach" - great, classic TD lyric.
which song of his was that from?
@@gaskellr44 It was from I'm not your dog. Is reminiscent of other TD songs, to me.
@@rebeccakeeshen2489 Ah, so the lyric you wrote "And in my mind I still run free, along the marshes and the beach" is from this songs, which was my enquiry? thanks
@@gaskellr44 the lyric is printed along with the vid
Perhaps you missed the final song, a collab with Todd & Vai, which is IMO the best tune by far, but I'm Not Your Dog is a close second for me. Also the Rick Neilson cut is a riot. I completely agree with your assessment of the Rivers song..
This reminds me a little of SCREAM by Michael Jackson .
I could have chewed the curtains?
Yeah, I did a double take on that one too. Reaching much to rhyme with "certain"?
Dogs chew curtains, so keeping with the theme.
Mm, I feel I've heard this expression before. Expressing heightened angst is how I took it.
@@RMoore Exactly!
Theatrical reference, possibly about William Shatner.
It's good but could be brilliant. Needs some extra punch in there, in the middle or at the end, a bit of anger& menace, its too tame IMO
Todd seems to be riffing on NIN. I like it but I'm curious to see what else comes on the new album. The Thomas Dolby parts are really obvious.
Thomas wrote and produced most of this. Todd contributed words and vocals. This is true of most of the tracks on Space Force. (Well, Thomas did not write and record most of them, but you get my point.)
yes I noticed the NIN influence: Fight the hand that feeds you
It also somwhat sounds like ancient Was (Not Was) material, Born To Laugh At Tornadoes era.
😢

A lonnnng time worshipper of God Rundgren, but this...? Jury is out. Maybe when heard in the context of a full album it will 'make sense'. I can see it being covered by others though. Needed more angry guitar driven guts to lift it? That's just my opinion.
Jury is Always out for awhile when Runt does something new which is mostly whenever he does something....
I thought Todd Rundgren was dead. 🤣😂🤣😂
Glad I was wrong.
You have so much greatness to seek out from whenever you thought Todd had snuffed it.
74 and still rocking
That guitar sounds incredible- there is a good song in here. I just can’t stand that same beat throughout and weird droning sound. I dunno, this album is feeling more and more miss than it is hit.
The repetitive baseline is the point. It grinds on and on like an obsession.
Melodic disappointment.
Love Thomas Dolby, and I like a lot of Rundgren, but this is lazy songwriting for these guys. Yes, there's a good groove, and when Dolby comes in on the first pre-chorus, a breath of fresh air, I'm thinking its finally going to take off! But no. The one-bar endless bass line, without any kind of embellishment, gets really old, and putting chords over a pedal bass note is too easy anyway. TD is such a great singer, but he's out in the cold here, nothing soars. I guess maybe that's the emotion they're trying to get across...
This sucks
Yeah! He should have just did a remake of "Hello, It's Me."
@@BillyLeather Yea... Just what we need. A 4th version. Nazz, Something/Anything & With A Twist already. LOL! I'll take this any day. Always evolving. I dig it.
@@hippydippy I was being facetious. We own virtually everything Todd has put out. I love his diverse body of music. My wife and I have had the good fortune of spending time with Todd. I cooked lunch for him in 2015 and we drove him to meet our good friend, producer, Mitch Easter.
It does not.
No, Primus sucks.
