Between Jameson and Jack Daniels, Jameson does it for me. Between Jameson and Red Label , again, I'd go with Jameson. Between Red Label and Jack Daniels, I guess it would depend on the occasion.
What I like about this review is that a lot of reviewers trash these three whiskies, but you were very positive about them, which I agree with, because I also enjoy all three of these, especially the Jameson! Keep up the great work!
Thank you for watching! I like them all in their own way as well - good thing that there's enough whisky in the world to find something that suits all different palates ☺️
Available on Master of Malt if anyone is looking: Jameson: scripts.affiliatefuture.com/AFShortUrl.aspx?id=24080 Johnnie Walker Red Label: scripts.affiliatefuture.com/AFShortUrl.aspx?id=24081 Jack Daniels Old No 7: scripts.affiliatefuture.com/AFShortUrl.aspx?id=24082 (affiliate links) ☺️
Nice video and a great comparison video for a gateway into different whiskies. I think JW Red gets a bad rep as a cheap whisky, but it is amazing when you let it sit and as you discovered it evolves and each one of the different malts and grains share a spot in the limelight if only briefly, but of course that smoke note that binds it is luscious, it think Im right in saying that Talisker and Caol Ila offer up the smoke in this blend.
I totally agree - and no matter what you think of the flavour of the Red Label there's so much history in this whisky. I feel like there's so many people that feel the need to talk about how much they dislike or hate a whisky, but I prefer to focus on the positive and good things about each dram and if there's something that's not to my taste I just won't try it again for a while until I might get curious again ☺️
I enjoy each of these. They are in my rotation of whiskeys. I rarely buy the same bottle back to back. I like going in a different direction with the "next" bottle. These would make my top ten whiskys for beginners. Good video. 👍
Great review! I like JW Red ...really enjoying it but do understand why so many people hate on it . Jameson and Jack are drinkable but aftertaste is something i dont like. in my opinion cheepest whisky is always better than any whiskEy
@cannabislife1688 jack qualifies as a bourbon (from Kentucky is actually not a requirement but from u.s. is) and some people call it that and aren't wrong (yes I'm from East Tennessee) but imo they don't call it that to stay out of the question and to separate their brand
Great video, I love comparing the "basics". Of the three I drift more toward Jameson, I would say, though weirdly the last bottle I had was really gross. But I'm from Tennessee and so have a certain loyalty to JD. What I smell on JD is mostly that banana, specifically banana taffy...even more specifically, an American candy called Laffy Taffy. Whenever I smell Old No 7, it makes me laugh, because I don't like the candy at all, but I do like the drink. If you ever see a little yellow square of Laffy Taffy you should get it and see if you get a whiff of that in JD. If you have an opportunity to try the JD Single Barrel, Barrel Proof, it's excellent and very rich. More everything, certainly more banana, reminds me of bananas foster. JW Red...is not my favorite, though I do have some around, and I don't hate on it as much as others do. It's nice for a reference to other things.
Aaron Brasher Sounds very intriguing - definitely need to see if I can find some Laffy Taffy and enjoy it w a JD! Thanks for the tasting note and recommendation 🙏🏼
I like all three of these. Not much into mixing since I get hangovers but I’ll have one here and there. So I sip them all instead 🙂. I get a varnish not on JD. I’m actually tasting the whole line up of JD master distiller series they are all old no 7 just bottled at 43% ABV but do taste slightly different when comparing them side to side. As for good old JW red. I think people hate it because when they first try it they get hit by that smoke flavor just my opinion. Great video 👍🥃
Until Black Label 12. Only Jameson in my opinion. If one has some more $ (Just a little) the Jameson Black Barrel is a real treat for the price. Bourbon/Tennesee is not my thing anyway though. So i am kind of bias. But i am more of a scotch/single malt drinker. So me liking the 30$ Black Barrel so much might tell something at least.
You can do if you want to and it can be quite nice when it’s hot weather but you still want to enjoy a dram ☺️ the reason many people won’t use ice might be that you can’t control the dilution rate as the ice melts which means you might end up with more water in your whisky that you had intended. Ice also chills the whisky which usually means that some of the flavour is toned down as well. I hope this makes sense ☺️
tried several brands of american whiskies,,hated them all, like drinking inky swizzle stick ,sharp and bitter ,has nice bubble gum small but tastes horrible,,not the smooth corn like grain flavour i was excepting ,too leathery and rusty
@@swedishwhiskygirl ok mine also says "the glencairn glass" was curious because i think these are now being made knockoffs by many places,,i even heard they no longer make them in the uk but in germany or other places

Red label for flavor, Jameson for high volume drinking, Jack for cleaning product
I for one am happy you don’t just choose really high priced super hard to find whiskies. Nice work!
I'm glad to hear - I'll try and keep a good variation of this and that 😃

It's an unusual taste challenge, jumping from scotch to Irish to bourbon (Tennessee whiskey), but I do enjoy all three whiskies.
I don't think Tennessee whiskey is bourbon.
@@sowhat... It is bourbon, but they try to legally claim that it is not. But, it IS a Tennessee type of bourbon, yes.

I notice people never use ice cubes in their whiskey. Why? Does it ruin the taste?
