Jewel was also in town because she had a show in Austin touring with Train and Blue's Traveler that Summer 2022. There's awesome videos of her performance on UA-cam.
Strangely I prefer moose or whitetail to elk. Maybe I need an Arizona bull elk. The fat strip, if any, are great when the outside is slightly crispy and the fat bursts out of it when consumed.
Not many people have Joes drive or in bow hunting terms….arrogance/confidence. There’s a difference I understand…if you can make the shot, great, but outside of 30 yards for most, possibly 40 with Joes 90lb draw weight, ….that is no longer a 100% ethical shot. Not because he can’t knock it down but because the elk will react outside of 40yds almost every time dropping the hit zone or will begin to wheel around moving the hit zone. Especially if nervous. I know that Joe strives for perfection, and is an ethical guy, but outside of 40 there is risk you do not make an ethical shot imo. I’m 100% on this. I don’t care if your cranked up to 90lbs that elk is gonna move changing the hit zone 1 out of 2 times. You can be sure you can hit your mark, but to make sure you hit that mark, you need to be inside an ethical yardage to make sure arrow arrives before the animal has time to react. It’s extremely hard to separate the beast in us from the proper decision making.
I have seen Cam kill an elk from 70 with one arrow, Elk went down within 10 yards. Plenty of other examples in his videos and others. Not sure why you came here today to say what you did lol.
I have never shot an Elk, but I would imagine 40yards is hardly a problem if I am able to shoot much smaller and quicker animals (Ducks, Roe Deer and European Hare) at those distances here in Finland.
I hate watching a video about hunting with people who can afford food. It hits different when"I'm leaving a cooler for everyone else who doesn't hunt." 100% hunter is making sure you have something to eat. Not a mature bull that's 13y old..
Hunting with a bow and arrow is the apex of ancestral human masculinity.
Joes description of bow hunting is a great reminder why I rifle hunt.
its okay to be soft, Brad
@ 100% lol that’s exactly what I’m getting at 🤣

Joe needs to record his hunts. We seen you with meat eater and then you fell off the hunting scene. Come back
Hi, Phil Shoemaker here.
Good to see you, son.
