In this episode of the Make Hijrah Podcast, our guest, Abdur Rahmaan Khayri (@authenticallyab ) discusses growing up in a culturally mixed environment, balancing Islamic values with the outside world. In this heartfelt story, as a young man raised in a Muslim household, he shares how he felt a disconnect between his faith and the surrounding influences, ultimately leading him to stray in his teens. He speaks candidly about a life-changing dream that urged him to reconnect with Islam, eventually guiding him to move to Egypt to deepen his faith and study Arabic. Embracing a new environment and mindset, he reflects on how living abroad has transformed his outlook on both his homeland and new surroundings.
Assalaamu alaykum, Shaikh, will you answer this for me and the average laymen living in the west; 1. read the first page of your passport. You have made the kuffar your wali 2.Then ask your parents how they did the pledge of allegiance to the kuffar for their citizenship. 3. Read quran 4:138-146 and discover that we may be jahannami munafiqs!
I’ve been watching his journey in Egypt too but didn’t recognize him with the haircut! Allahumma baarik. This channel has been on the come up lately mashallah! Back and better! Take that UA-cam! 👊😂
Thank you for inviting him. My children and I love this brother for the sake of Allah. We appreciate and benefit from his Chanel Alhamdulilah. May Allah bless him.
Great interview Masha Allah. This really highlights how trying to raise a Muslim family in the West is a struggle and a half because your children go outside and are surrounded by kufr and anything goes in the society. Happy to see he mentally and physically made it out the streets.
As salamu alaiykum. Al hamdu lillah. You were right behind me. I also grew up in Newark, and then I moved to Wilkes barre. I actually moved away from luzerne county, right before they opened the masjid on main street.
Wallahi this is exactly what I’m scared of living in the west nyc to be exact with my children may allah make a way for us to make hijrah soon إن شاء الله may allah protect and preserve our brothers and sisters Ameen ya rab 🤲🏻🤲🏻🤲🏻
