@@eline_van_dijk I think a large part of why I like RoR Hook so much is because he looks (and is) closest to my age. Sure, Thomas Doherty was around the same age for the second Descendants movie, but he didn’t look it. He looked like a full adult. Joshua Colley (RoR) can actually pass for a teen even if he isn’t.

Someone's probably mentioned this already, but just to quickly correct this: yes, Descendants, Descendants 2 and Descendants 3 were directed AND choreographed by Kenny Ortega.
This one wasn't.
Descendants 4 was directed by Jennifer Phang, and choreographed by Ashley Wallen.
(as for us getting a 5th Descendants, yes it's very likely, but it won't include Mal, Jay and Evie, and probably not Ben either)

OMG, this is so upsetting this is nothing like the original movie, stealing the name for a jump start is what theyre doing but theyre just hurting the name, this in not the same movie it doesnt even have the same director, but for them to turn it into this makes me really upset, instead of leaving as be and honoring Cameron Boyce they recreate with none of the same cast except Uma who wasnt really that crucial to the plot in the first place to try to turn it into something else, why use the same name if its not the same movie, it doesnt make sense. No hate to anyone especially the cast theyre just doing their job, im just saying what needs to be said.

I confess, I was a BIT disappointed not to see more moments with Uma and Red. I think they would have been a nice pairing.

The fact that uliana and the others would still be frozen in time once they'ed open the cookbook in the original timeline shows that they couldn't be the ones doing the prank on bridget.
It could be ela though, she made a weird face expression after they gave away the cupcakes. Right after Bridget said "my only friend is ela... Time and effort... They will be".
Yeah but Bridget also said that Ella was too busy with her prince so it couldn't be her either
My theory is that Ella wasn't directly involved but Bridget was more hurt to see her ONLY friend stand back and allow what happened to happen. And I think the reason why Ella would do that in the first place is because she probably felt some resentment towards her similar to how she felt about Chloe. Maybe resentment isn't the right word but I think that could be a reason?
And ofc Bridget would view love negatively since in her perspective, "love made my only friend turn her back on me"
Yes, plus during the one musical number where Ella and Bridget (Queen of Hearts) were first describing their time at school (Love Ain't It) Ella said she was the way she was because of the mean prank that happened to her. The Queen of Hearts perspective paints a slightly different picture and I quote, "I saw through her, Cinderella and I were classmates" and "The people here might smile But they're two-faced and too fake". It implies, to me at least that Ella did something that hurt her deeply and that's moreso the reason why she's held onto this for so long. I don't think Ella would be behind the prank that happened, but say she was busy with Charming the moment it happened and she broke her promise to go to Castle Coming with Bridget. So not only would Bridget be humiliated that night but her friend forgot about her because of a boy. That's my thoughts on what could have actually happened during the OG timeline and part of why Ella looks so guilty/suspect in some scenes.
This movie was so much fun, but felt really rushed!
I agree but supposedly there is going to be another movie so hopefully we will get our answers in the next one. Other than it feeling rushed, I enjoyed it.

@@madnessarcade7447 So were the other three movies though. This one only kinda missed that final, climactic moment. D1 had it when Maleficent turned into the dragon, D2 had it in the fight between Uma and Mal and D3 had it in the fight between Mal and Audrey. In this one the scene in Merlin's office is supposed to be that, but feels more like this movie's variant of Night Falls, hence it feeling a little rushed. The movie was absolutely amazing, but I agree with most people that it would've been even better if we had that moment (for example switch up the conflict to make it so that Chloe and Red have to stop Uliana at the Castlecoming).

Throwing her shoe makes sense. It’s symbolism. I took it as she’s letting go of material things basically. I’m sure there’s a long-winded lesson there but I can’t put it into words

I actually really liked Get Your Hands Dirty. A lot of people don't, but I do and I think it's because of my nostalgia for the early 2000s. It's very reminiscent of that era and particularly reminds me of the Great Divide by the McClain sisters that played at the end of Tinkerbell: Secret of the Wings.
OK so just to let you know I am Bridget is the young queen of hearts reds mom and Ella is the young version of Cinderella, who is Chloe‘s mom, so they went back in time to see how did the queen of hearts became mean and of how she started out

After Descendants 3 but before The Rise of Red, the special happens, Descendants: Royal Wedding, even if you have already seen Red's movie, I recommend you watch the special anyway since it closes Mal's story and with the ending you will see that since 2020 They were planning this movie.

@@SongsFromASuitcase It is animated but with the voices of the actors, it closes Mal's story and the end is a nod to "The Rise of Red." I think it is a good special that complements the universe and a good closure for the previous saga, I hope you can see it.

What was it like when you first heard Brandy and Paolo do the cover of the animated Cinderella song, “So This Is Love?” In this movie? It was already amazing these two made a return from the Rodger’s and Hammerstein version and the music team decided on this. (For me it’s like icing on a delicious cake of cameo).
Also funny enough this isn’t the first time that Disney mixed time travel and Cinderella. A few decades back in the 2000s when DVD formats were on the rise, Disney pushed for sequels to their successful movies and Cinderella got two of them, the second sequel A Twist in Time was such a time travel movie.

I quite enjoyed this film! The songs were bangers, the story was unique, and the actors were amazing in their respective roles!!! I found the ending anticlimactic, but I strongly believe that all that will be explored in the next film!!! Similar to the Back To The Future trilogy, there are some unanswered questions such as that if a VK can’t open the cookbook but an AK can. Also take into account that Morgie was the only one not frozen; it’s possible he found a way to break the gang out or manipulated Ella or Bridget or someone else to open the cookbook and still pulled a prank. We’ll just have to wait and see as only time will tell.
