20:57 It's not like Valve didn't have a trial run with TF2, some parallels are there, strange weapons = stattrack weapons, unusuals = knives, hats = weapon skins, keys... = keys, etc. TF2's Economy walked so CS:GO's economy could sprint to the nearest treasury and print money.
honestly both of them print money for Valve, but CS:GO's and CS2's economies were much better designed because they had the trial with TF2

TF2 crates were released before CSGO in 2010 so it’s not entirely original. Cosmetics in the form of hats were added to TF2 a year prior in 2009

CSS graffiti sprays ranged from creative as fuck, to straight up porn gifs hahahaha
honestly the sprays logos back then was not that bad at all, it was cool because clans could make a panorama logo with their names and there wasnt to much out of hand stuff. mostly tits :D but also a favorit was a dumy ct or t model for spraying on coners or windows or any chock point
it wasnt that bad back in those days. people was not crying about everything so no one cared.
Bro, I’ve played CS since 2003 and when I started playing CS2 and realized I couldn’t upload custom sprays. I’m still very sad about it. There was a lot of dicks of course and there was a lot of porn there wasn’t anything really shocking like it wasn’t like Mr. Hands or lemon party or freaky shit so much, OK maybe lemon party was a spray of a few players, but I had a really hot chick up skirt thing and if you sprayed a wall let’s say doors mid on dust you could catch MF slipping. Looking at the girls in the spray and there’s your chance, it bought a second or two and that’s all you needed to dominate. It was brilliant.

esports celebrities weren't really a thing until csgo to be honest, but before csgo you had names like fatal1ty, heaton, athene.
fatal1ty was the first ever esports millionaire and celeb this guy would travel the world and show up at random places to 1v1 kids and had a ll the sponsors he even had his own and still has his own pc motherboard brand.
heaton was fallen before fallen. and athene you just had to be there. i definitely feel like a lot of pros hate heaton kinda because he was famous just because of his name. if you asked who the most popular cs1.6 player was in 2010 people would say heaton.
i might be wrong but i think heaton made the most money out of all the cs1.6 pros again because of his name being a brand.
