Ali Salami that heavy hitting feeling is something only MK gets close to simulating for me. Tekken and soulcalibur feel a bit too light to me.
@@ENDWARO7 fair enough but for me I feel just If you watch the animation in doa every move has a wind up everything has weight, and the recoil from the people who get hit really sells it, although It is quiet fast. Mk11 also does a really good job at it as well and probably when better as honestly nether realms are just God like at this point

I've been waiting for dead or alive tourney forever. I remember playing this game back in the day on xbox live DOA Ultimate.

@@Elgar337 Likely no fireballs, projectiles and sh!t. DOA is mostly boots on the ground but it does have a bit of fantastical elements as well like Tengu, Nyotengu with their moves.
12:00 I think switching between two mains is a bigger advantage in this game then most. They’d have to pick up on your tendencies with new moves, making it harder to get holds and throws.
he should have tried switching back to Helena when Kula was destroying his Nico. But to be frank it should have been over with Bass. Well played.
That Leifang vs Helena match was a treat for me~ I just love seeing these two characters fight, especially in close pro matches.

Yo, sorry for replying to an absurdly old comment lol. I was wondering what it is about Leifang vs. Helena that's so special, because even the commentators were like "it's the classic matchup".
@@austinvanderveer213 I'm not entirely sure, but it might be because these two characters are the arguably the two most elegant fighters in the game franchise, which the devs probably recognized since DOA 2 'cause, these two characters have always had matching/special tag team intros, throws, and victory poses if paired together.

CrazySteady is good, but Jesus, Xcalibur is on a league of his own. I had the impression slow characters wouldn't work in competitive DOA. Boy did he prove me wrong.

BubbaSteve Garcia I refuse to buy DLC loaded games with poor launches. For that I stopped checking for this game but I’m always interested in tourney plays!
Ryan Johnson dlc has always just been fap content... why don’t you scoop it up now that it’s cheaper and way past launch
BubbaSteve Garcia most of their support goes into DLC. DOA5 had very few customization options at launch and you had to essentially buy skins just to have variety. Not to mention characters that were featured in previous DOA games.... we have to still pay extra for. I don’t support companies like that. I can afford it.... but I choose not to waste my money. I would rather buy other content from more generous companies. But like I said, I do enjoy watching the game! I would just rather vote for my wallet,
@@ryanjohnson781 In DAO5 all the characters that were in the base game came with the purchase of the game. DlC characters came out a year later, and 4 of them were fighters from different games.

Fight Night Champion is the ONLY Fighting game in gaming history, I say deserve the Name Fighting game.
What you get from Japan is jiggeling selld as Fighting game, but it take the "glases" to realize that. If you stay inside the box you will never grasp it.

I'm stricken by how much worse NiCO's animations look compared to other characters. Limbs seem stubby, attacks aren't dynamic, they lack vigor, looking more like ineffectual, random twitching than they do punches or kicks. She's like a really polished Fighter Maker character lol. It's disappointing, since animation is something this series has always excelled at imo
Hopefully the reboot redeems the franchise

Bro we need more fighting games like this. Nothing fighter z or guilty gear not saying those are bad just saying we need different types of fighting games. Smooth combat 3d environment decent health bars and amazing animations im sorry but we need more than tekken 7 what the fuck happened to virtual fighters?
For whatever reason people just don't wanna play Virtua Fighter. I haven't seen anyone playing it in years which sucks because 4, 5, & 6 are all good games. The learning curve might be what steers people away
@@mlaws11291 A year late but it's not even really a "learning curve", VF is one of the easier 3D fighters to get into imo. Sega just simply didn't do a very good job of marketing it in the west most of the time + they just stopped making them after Final Showdown

Nobody? One of the previously best DoA players, Master, is a Hayabusa specialist. Still, cant beat the likes of Marie Rose or Kula with Hayabusa.
Hyabusa is still top tier, a lot of people main him.

It is a specific feature, it turns gold if she taunts too. Ayane has a similar outfit which does the same.

The Brad Wong fight at 25:22 was quality, but the rest was pretty dull.
This tournament is dominated too much by Nico picks and it gets worse when you're seeing Nico mirror matches.
When you see one particular character being picked too much, you know the game either has balance issues or is seriously lacking in enough interesting characters.
DOA 2 Ultimate is where this series ended its reign unfortunately.

@@loytowse666 I meant DOA2U was the last really good DOA game overall, I wasn't so much talking about balance there, just in general.
We all know the Ninjas are overpowered, that's not new news.
DOA2 vanilla was the last one that really took a significant leap, it felt like a proper sequel and DOA2 Ultimate was like slapping extra makeup on an already perfect face - not necessary, but welcome nonetheless.
DOA3 was the beginning of the decline, I immediately knew once I saw they'd started short cutting the commands for alot of the moves, making them too easy to pull off.
Game over.
Played DOA2U recently & had a great time, though I will say everyone's command lists felt so incomplete compared to later entries. While still super fun, I found myself wishing I could simply do more with any given character, but it's just a bit limited

Was a very good DOA, but there were again balance issues. There were waaaay too many cheap Ayanes online and it kinda ruined the experience.
