Doom really is the worst character in OW. He's "broken" in the sense that you almost HAVE to use map exploits to make him viable, he still has one of the stupidest one shot abilities in the game, and is insanely un-fun to play against. Like, just look at all the streamers as they die. There's nothing they can do because they just get booped around n shit and the lack of counterplay obviously makes it less engaging (compare that to a high level Tracer 1v1 - the loser can almost always point to something they could have done to win the fight. Not so with doom, you just get bootyblasted for having the audacity to be at the end of one of his rollouts from halfway across the map). Delete Doom, Brig, Widow, Hanjo, and Ball and watch the game flourish. Mad respect for Quake though. Takes a lot of skill to make that dumpster fire of a hero viable.
Thing is that "one-shot" ability is like, countered by sliders and just using your eyes and ears. It's never going to be a split second between full health and one-shot, the charge up takes more than enough time to be visually or audibly aware of it.

Oh! And I'll definitely be sure to "counter" it by making sure I cause a slider! Because I can totally control that! In a game like overwatch, one shot shit is stupid, period. Heroes that can cause other players to lose control of their heroes are also stupid. The only people of consequence in the overwatch community who defend those types of characters are the very ones who main them, which is really all you need to know. It also says a lot that Quake can only make DF viable by using exploits that OWL officials consider cheating... Because the character truly is "broken" (which doesn't necessarily mean he doesn't require skill to play!)
I'd be interested to see how things worked out if they reduced the damage, knock back, and cooldowns for all of DFs abilities and give him an extra shot or two. I'd rather DF be a more fluid, mobile character with less one shot and knock back ability than his current state.
