SUPER NEST Yellow Jackets In A Basement Ceiling! | Wasp Nest Removal
Вставка
- Опубліковано 28 вер 2024
- This nest was MASSIVE!! It had well over 10,000 yellow jackets inside it! I vacuumed and vacuumed and vacuumed! It felt like it was never going to end!
I pulled the nest out, and took it home, and fed it to my Emus, Rhea, Chickens, and Squirrel!

Those birds, their lives are so good. Good food, good digs, hand held showers, mud puddles on demand……..good living.
Totally spoiled birdies! 😁
Those birds live better than me 😂
@@HornetKingOfficial These German ones can really hurt ....
Here in Germany it's forbidden to kill them so you need to call someone who will replace them.
I know, you love them so much and take such good care of them ❤ 🐦
@[COBS] Sir_Mike here we shoot them on sight and then gas attack them.
Spoiled birdies! I love how some of them will only eat it from your hands! Great content, as usual! Thanks for sharing! God bless🙏🏼
Thanks, Joe!
That nest was HUGE!! WOW!! Love watching the entire process. Been a subscriber for many years and I still love watching!!😉😃
Would you consider your birds to be complete bottomless pits, or is there a limit to how many nests/larvae they can go through in a day?
Totally bottomless 😆
I am so glad to see them go as food. I was wondering what you did with them. I love bees, hornets, wasps and and ants. I’ve even rehabbed a few cow killers. ❤
Those birds are absolutely adorable!
Pesky birdies! 🥰🥰🥰
I love how that one yellow jacket stayed on his camera for a few seconds like hi! Then got sucked away lol
You are a hero, ive watched the 2 hour video and now i see. What you actually do
Ha, I clean for some people like that. They could have a buffalo herd in the backyard or basement; they'd never know it. Blows my mind.
Right!? It blew my mind that they didn't notice the activity outside, or saw the dead yellow jackets on the floor in their basement!
When I was younger my grandfather found a nest in a sealed-off section of our 1800s farmhouse when he was renovating the basement to add a boiler. When he took down the tile brick wall there was a yellow jacket nest about 4-5 feet tall and bigger around than he could reach they got in through a gap between the top of the brick and the house connection point. I told him it might be a world record for the biggest ground hornet nest we needed a polaroid of it. lol But he never did, but it was the biggest id ever seen or heard of.
So much fiber and protein 🤣 for the birds
Haha spoiled birdies
Chicken picking out the larvas
Rheas just swallowing everything like they got a black hole in them 😁
Haha yep! Emus and Rhea just gulp everything. I don't think they even taste it 😆
Anyone else jumped at the be crawling across the camera at 5:40?
Ty for the good content❤
Soooo, what I'm picking up from this videos is that we Germans are just naturally sturdy builders whether as humans or animals
I swear every time a wasp crawls over the camera lens in these videos I instinctively wince
Hello from Marion County, Florida! When you started whistling for the birdies, my Doberman lost his ever lovin' mind. 😂😂😂
Haha! When the emus were chicks, they whistled like that so I started imitating them to speak their language, and it just stuck 😆😅
Hahaha!! Our cats go crazy when they hear that, too!!
I have too many of wasps and Yellowjacket’s nesting in my old homes attic. This is due to the fact the wood up there is very soft for them to make nests with and the roof leads to a crawl space which is only covered by a metal roof, and has plenty of tiny spaces, so I see nests up there and in that space every summer. I’ve just taken to wearing a bee suit and taking a pressure washer up there and just lasering the nest away. We’re at war with one another
Man you got an army of birds now damn
I love how you repurposed the best👍🏾
Good God!
How on Earth did you get into this type of profession?
I decided one day to face my fears of wasps, and then a business formed from that phobia!
2:54 made my skin crawl
First thing, great short videos that you’ve been posting. I really hope that gets you new subscribers. Now my weekly question: Wasps or hornets reuse envelope to build their nest/envelope in their structured nest? If this spring you put pieces of envelope on your wood pile, will the use it? I remember a video you made with post-it notes of different colors that they used, just didn’t know if they would recycle envelopes from others. Keep up the great videos Bret! Oh yeah, awesome monster nest!
I spent two summers fighting the nesting wasps under the 8x8 floor of my porch. When we did any major movement you could hear the angry buzzing from under there. Ended up using a little bit of tempo dust to get rid of the problem. Wish I could have pulled up the floor I'm sure it was good sized. Don't know how you do this so calmly, I would be squealing like a school girl.😂
love this content , keep up the good work
Once again you read my mind on having me hear the buzzing and swarming of the German yellow jackets. I've always wanted to have a bee suit where I'm close to a German yellow jacket nest so I can record them swarming. Best regards Nikita.K
Thanks, Nikita!
@@HornetKingOfficial You're totally welcome. Best regards Nikita.K
Your pets are so cute
I really enjoy all your videos and look forward to them. It drives me crazy that you don't use a more powerful vacuum! You did a great job explaining in this video, and have explained in others why you don't. I totally respect you and your decision not to use a more powerful vacuum, but you have to see it from my perspective. I'm sitting in my chair watching these videos with no bee suit or gloves, and I instinctively want those hornets gone as quickly as possible. Sometimes I swear I can feel them crawling on me, which is great! It's like a scary movie. If it were me though, I'd want one of those huge vac trucks that they use to suck out septic systems with. It's too bad the hornets have to go, they're cool critters, but if they become problematic to households or businesses then they gotta go. I also respect the fact that you seem to be very light handed with chemical poisons. I love all your animals, and enjoy watching the feedings. I'll bet the eggs that your chickens lay have the darkest orange yolks, and taste better than any eggs ever. One year there were a ton of moths where I live, and I noticed during that same time that my chicken's eggs were just stunningly good. I tried to figure out why their eggs had gotten much better, and it became evident one afternoon when I watched the chickens feasting on nothing but moths. That might creep some people out, but circle of life if you ask me. Keep up the great content man, it's obvious from your subscribers that people are enjoying it.
I love super nests because it's crazy just how large a structure that can be built in hidden spaces, but I hate them because those are a LOT of wasps.
I enjoyed your birds eating
Great video and information. Lovely seeing the birds, hens feathers and eyes just glowing with health
You've got emu's ❤
As you’re pulling down the insulation describing the smell and I’m mid-gag, my iPad charging cable lightly grazed my hand. (Yes I screamed and yes I almost flung my iPad across the room)
2:55 casually jumpscared me
Awesome video! Would the German yellow jackets of ran into the eastern ones who made the old nest? If so would that of been an issue? Also we’re the German ones using the old nest at all?
that's the wasp's house now
I'm sure this question gets asked alot but im "new here": what happens with the ones that go into the vaccum? I mean how do you dispose of them?😅
He showed it in another video, there is water in the vaccum, so they drown and he just dump all of it somewhere ^^
Am I the only one who got itchy watching this? 😂
Even the German bees or yellow jackets built tough stuff
The chickens and emus are eating buffet
Speaking words of wisdom, let eat bee.
(c) Beatles.
xD
The way to my heart 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Is the nest nutritious for the animals specifically? Or just something they enjoy eating - not harmful but perhaps kinda nutritiously neutral?
Jesus, I think getting a wasp nest in my house is my literal worst nightmare.
Wow. A macho nest All the aunts uncles brothers sisters Queen Kings
It was, for sure!
Hi Hornet King. Why the respirator?
Because it stunk and the basement had a funk that made me think there may have been mold.
The emus look so much more prehistoric than the rhea!
Their feet especially!
Do any wasps come out of your bag that you are concerned about?
i like the emu
I wanna be one those birds geesh
some people eat it after they cook it Sir the larvae is what i mean
Yes
2:55 hi mom im on tv
So why is it that whenever I see any wasp nests, I really only see the ones that get made under overhangs/etc? Why are they so small? (10-15 workers, 1 queen)? Why do these ones never get any bigger than that?
What’s the other Emu’s name? There’s Rhea the Rhea, Doris and….
Hey brother I’m late watching
Coming home from work... realizing that your house is gone... WTF!
Dumb question for you, you were mentioning how the males and queens hide, do they have the same defense mechanism as the female workers? As far as stinging? Do they even have stingers? If they do why dont they use them? Just last defense kinda thing if on their own or do they never leave the hives? Been watching your videos for a while but never stopped and thought to far into it
It looks like the Emu’s are eating the nest, paper and all.
Yup
👍🐿👍
How long do you have to keep them in the bag before it is safe to open and feed the birds? My wife and I took care of a couple of bald face hornets in a similar way, but tossed the bags in a dumpster
I open the bags when I get home and vacuum off any adults then give it to the animals.
I wish you could get a close-up of the look on the yellow jacket"s face at 11:26, as she arrives back to the best, and there's NOTHING! 😆 WTF is right!
Haha I'm sure it would have been exactly like that, too!
What is the danger of spurring them to a large attack? Can they overwhelm your suit? Just curious.
It's more of a pain in the butt to have to deal with them outside of the nest and all over the room
@@HornetKingOfficial gotcha. Thanks!
How do they survive if they never go outside?
what happens to the sucked up hornets?
@Shadow_Dagger 666 But does he disgard them or feed them to the birds? They go in the trash or compost?
@Shadow_Dagger 666 No we only saw them larva, what about the sucke up hornets?
What does it cost a client to have this done?
I charge 250 for indwelling nest removals.
👍👍✌✌😎😎
Good to see you!
If your voice over is not used at the same time as video audio.
Could you just lower the vacuum? Having that blaring whole the voice is done after. The video audio offers nothing but the vacuum. You know what I mean?
Liked the video though. Not hating
guess yellow jackets don’t worry about mesothelioma
Not having that long intro section was a great move!! Your short explanation and then BANG, you getting right to business educating everyone really works. Great video too!
Thanks! I get tired of doing the same thing over and over 😆
@@HornetKingOfficial you have a really interesting channel. It’s fascinating. Keep up the great videos. I’ll be watching! Thank you!
It's pretty difficult to not hear all the buzzing and chewing, but seeing where the nest was located it's a strong possibility. The smell had to be absolutely terrible, with all that sludge and nest gunk. Your emus and rhea really love their "birdbath". The upcoming wasp/hornet season might be early given how warm it's been. Looking forward to your 2023 content.
Yeah I was blown away they didn't have any other alerts to there being a nest sooner!
I'm thinking the same thing! Last year was smaller nests, so hopefully this season will get an early start and create more interesting nests!
@@HornetKingOfficial bro you've just cursed us all to massive nests! Now we'll have to use your services... WAIT, IT WAS A PLOT ALL ALONG!
I love seeing their little faces when they land right on the camera 😊
Not disgust inducing at all 🫠🫠🫠
Huge nest, great coverage. It's so interesting watching the emus, rhea and chicken enjoying their snack. I didn't realize until this video that the emus and rhea swallow entire chunks of the nests. It's always looked before like they tear it apart. How much bigger will the emus and rhea get? They are adorable.
Yup! That's why I tweeze sometimes, so the chickens get a chance to get some larvae, haha the emus will get much bigger. I don't think Rhea the Rhea will get all that much bigger.
@@HornetKingOfficial Yeah, I was thinking the emus looked a little small ^^'
@@HornetKingOfficial How do the super nests form is it like ants were multiple queens come together or is it just one queen and a very old colony
Hello from Bucks County, PA.
I gotta say, your very good at what you do, and very knowledgeable.
I honestly could watch your stuff everyday!
Hey, George! Thank you! I appreciate that!
I totally agree, and I do 😂 I am from Delco ❤
@@HornetKingOfficialhey, about the durability of those nests, I've encountered a wasp nest in an old car that was parked in the garden that wasn't used for years and that thing was absolutely crazy. It was huge, but also it was extremely hard, it was like an egg shell. (I don't know what species it was or if it's even normal, but the surface was surprisingly hard. I am from Europe so idk if it's a species that you also have)
It also was ginormous, so i just sprayed a crap load of the anti nest spray and ran away, waited some time and i repeated this a couple of times.
Its crazy how big they can get if you don't notice them for a long time. Is there even some limit to how big they can build and how many can be in a single nest? Or can they just expand indefinitely until something kills them?
Oh, this was a great video! I love how you explain everything you're doing/not doing as we watch you work! What a gigantic nest!🐝. And I love how you say, "oh Rhea the rhea"!❤👍Thanks also for including the bird baths!
Thank you, Natalie!
I do not think I have EVER seen a nest that big... That is WILD.
Wow, that is a impressive nest!
Keep up the good work!
Thanks, Sina!
Great video! I'm surprised the homeowners didn't do something about this sooner based on all the dead wasps on the floor. Also, great job on your steady hands working on the huge nest to keep them from attacking en masse!
Hi Hornet King! I hope you keep up your great work. I hope one day, you might be one of the greatest hornet removers in the world!
Thanks!
Best one I have ever seen
As an aussie, i love seeing how much love you got for those emus 😁
I needed a Benadryl and a nap after watching this. Also get a crick in my neck. lol
Haha! You know all too well how annoying it is staring up at a nest for too long feels! 😆😅
Nice thumbnail... I saw it from a distance, and thought you had removed a nest from the set of Jeopardy! ;p
It's amazing how many people don't explore their own homes, ha ha until little critters pop up to say hello
I love this stuff! Thanks Hornet King!
Thanks, Chris! Im glad you enjoy the videos!
Damn. Those girls sure weren’t camera shy. They were all up on that phone camera.
The voice you talk to the birds in is hilarious!
Wow your flock has gotten so big! I have been here since Angel passed, RIP.
I am here for that sweet sweet asmr noise of "flying wasps being pulled inside the vacuum and hitting the hose's wall"
pop
pop
pop-pop
pop
If they are drawn to the light, have you considered mounting a light on the vacuum?
What is the cost to remove a nest like that?
Does the comb or envelope contribute to their diet in any beneficial way?
That's a pretty big nest for this time of yr, as I'm from the uk we won't see wasps til at least may time yet even June depending how quickly it warms up here. One can only imagine how big the nests are going to get in the height of summer where you are, they were very docile. Cracking video as always.
This nest was removed in the fall. October.
No removals this time of year.
@@HornetKingOfficial ah fair enough
Great video, I was honestly shocked to my core when I saw the birds eating the hornets and nests, I thought you were gonna relocate them😅😅😅😂😂😂😂
2:54 friendly hello from yellow jacket.
So basically... all of the brown stuff in the insulation was yellow jacket poop.
Coo
Cool
Holy smokes, that nest is huge! I xan honestly say that I would be on the other side of the property if you ever had to remove one of these near my home. I would be like, "Scooby-Doo, I'm outta here! I'm not gonna get stung! Not happening!"
Wow I would call that a super nest. It was a big one. Another awesome video by the Hornet king and his petting zoo!!
Thanks man!
Most satisfying part of your videos….. When you feed those little Pre-Demons to the birds! Righteousness Achieved!!!
thats what she said 6:45
I don't know why but I love this
Thanks!
Love how the rhea just sit and chill like they're at the dinner table
Outstanding performance congratulations
Thank you!
