Ok, I owe you an apology. When you started knitting, I commented that it would be probably impossible to make a sweater with that amount of wool, but you pulled it off! The sweater looks great!
I am a fairly new knitter. And discovered your videos about a year ago. I really love your vision on making sweaters without a pattern. I do the same, or I try to… I use the tutorials for raglan increases, a measuring tape, and go for it! I’ve studied other patterns and their ‘repeat’ instructions to get an idea of the shaping at shoulders. Working on one right now that I decided to do a rolled collar, and your video popped up! Nice! Thank you!
This is a beautiful sweater 😭 please share a pattern with exact stitches for different sizes. I'm a complete beginner, it will help many like me.
Amazing! I was gutted when you pulled apart the other one, but this looks so much better! I saw it in your last video and couldn’t wait to see it in full- such a beautiful sweater, well done! ☺️
Thank you! Yes, it was definitely a bit sad but I think it was the right decision and now I am really happy ☺
I love it! The color is great on you also. It's a triple win; second hand yarn, a hobby and a useful item!
Ty so so much for this tut . Like literally , I was trying to make a sweater for beginners but every one was showing the hardest designs,so I couldn't make it. After I saw this tutorial, I was super happy since I FINALLY made a sweater. Thank you so much, You encourage me to do more knitting.
Make a scrunchie from the leftover yarn
You are a brilliant lady. I love how you resused old wool to make a truly stunning raglan sweater. I also like how it has a very fitted look. I learn't a few tips and tricks from you aswell. Greatly appreciated and WELL DONE 🥰🥰
I can knit rectangles in jersey and purl all day, but I struggle to get past that. I have been thinking about getting a Wool & the Gang set or taking a knitting class to learn more and get over the intellectual bump. I adored your last sweater and I am so excited to see this one! I love that you included your partly-knit sweater in your full wardrobe tour today. I smiled when I saw it! (Very warm for shoulders. Not so warm for midriff. For now.)
Very nice. I love it. So far, my forays into the sweater and top knitting world have failed. However, I plan to continue trying. Your sweater turned out fantastic.
Ich bin froh zu zehen das sie der pulli lieben. Er ist ganz schon!! Und ich crochet. Nur nog geine pulli aber ich mochte das nog machen. Ihren pulli ist toll!
It's really gorgeous! I'm currently knitting a jumper using a pattern, but you've inspired me to try your method on my next one. Thank you!
I saw you wearing this sweater on another video and I thought: what an absolutely perfect color and shape and all together and how wonderful you look! And you have made it yourself! Too great! :)
I'm happy for you. And very proud it worked.
Keep up the good work.
1/6....!!!!! 🤦 I feel so dumb right now. Such a simple formula! Thank you. Really thank you.
What a great way to reuse an old sweater and create this beautiful sweater! I'm going to keep my eyes out when I go to the flea market or goodwill this month :) thanks for sharing :)
I thought that I saw the sweater in your drawer in the last video! Well done :D
I'm making a cardigan out of the leftovers of some curtains that I shortened recently. It's a beautiful, light linen fabric and I can't wait to finish it!
OMG this is so cool!! It turned out so well (and in only 5 days?!)
Thank you! Yes, I did knit several hours each evening and over the weekend ☺ that happens often to me once I am motivated ☺
Oh my, it's beautiful! You did such a good job.
Thank you so much!
Amazing - I’m so impressed - you make it sounds so simple to do, but u think you are pretty talented at this! Good job 👏
Great job! I love the finished product!!
Oh uau! It’s so beautiful! Congratulations. You should be very proud and I’m so jealous!
It came out great! Love it!
You are a pro! It looks really sweet! Well done!
This sweater is beautiful, good job!
This is a great and interesting challenge you took on. The sweater turned out darling and looks perfect on you. I am knitting my raglan sweater now too. I lost the pattern and have to decide if I want the tapered sleeves. Then it is finishing touches and blocking. So exciting when we finish a project. Thank you for sharing!
Gorgeous sweater Lia! I wish I were so good at knitting too! I used to knit a little during my teens, but then I left that behind and now I regret it! Should start doing that again some day, it's relaxing and fun at the same time!
Ooooooh it turned out so well! 😍
Oh, you did it!!!! 💪 Congrats! 😊
Thank you! Yes, I suddenly was so motivated ☺

Your sweater is beautiful! Makes me want to learn to knit.
very adorable at 0:02 & so exciting to see it at 8:10 !
(pssst, i know you said you didn't need another sweater, but you've also have had a conundrum with that dark hoodie... i think you know what to do ;) ~friendly encouragement only)
Thank you, you are a life saver, I've been so frustrated with patterns lately!
This turned out so great!!! I haven't knitted or crocheted a sweater yet but I'm in the process of making one now...without a pattern...because I just couldn't find exactly what I was looking for mainly because I was looking for a boat neck style. If I did, it wasn't a pattern but a completed item. So finding your channel/playlist was perfect timing.
Wonderful job!
Wow, just wow. I wish I had your skill and confidence.
Thank you! And I am sure you can learn ut by watching UA-cam videos ☺
I love it!!
Congrats!!! It turned out beautiful 😄😄😄
Bravo! Very chic.
really nice that you can knit a sweater =D
Thank you LIa, this is so inspiring
Ok u magician 🤣that was amazing
Good job 💚🌿
I agree with you.
New subbie. I watched this video once before and thought how cool you did a top down sweater without a pattern. At that point I had not even attempted to knit a top down without a pattern. Is it possible to do an in depth tutorial on HOW you calculated your sweater, please? That process would help immensely! 🙏🍰💕. PS. I sew clothes from thrift store finds, knit and crochet. I’ve knit my first top down sweater using a book. But I didn’t enjoy it. Lol. I usually knit my sweaters- front, back and sleeves. I do love circular needles tho.
The sweater looks lovely! Is it warm?
Glad to see you didn't give up.
Love it, Lia! Very nice.
Thank you!
I made a super chunky sweater without a pattern and I love it.
Very cute! Beautiful job!
Thank you!
Gosh, this is so impressive! And I think it looks great on you, absolutely perfect. Keep the thread for future fixes maybe? Is it real wool?
Turned out beautiful, looks very chic :)
Thank you! I really like it too ☺
You are amazing i loved you and you have nice way to talk
Proud of you❤️ glad for u😌 have a nice day
Thank you! And have a nice day too ☺
I'll give you a thumb up.Brilliant it fits like a model . What is your gage and size of your needles?
It is really pretty, i wish i could knit. Love from switzerland ❤
Thank you! ☺️❤️
Very nic thanks
It looks great!!! 👍🏻
I am a new knitter, and I'm working on my third project! Which is an afghan square. It's going to have a mushroom shape inside of it and I love the way it's turning out. Things are definitely not perfect (the mushroom is a a bit further to one side than the other ??? 😆) but it's been great practice and a good learning experience so far
That sounds great! I think with most projects I did something didn't turn out exactly how I imagined... But as long as it doesn't make the piece unwearable... ☺
That is very good going for someone who doesn‘t knit much otherwise! I wouldn‘t call you a beginner, though ;) Your research to do twisted rib and to do the raglan increases every other row was well-chosen 👍 Your sharp tapering of the sleeves worked well for you, too, it would be more usual to do those decreases every 6 or 8 rows but it worked well and as you say, used less wool - we call the race with how much/little wool you have „yarn chicken“ 🤣 In all you have made a nice-looking and well-fitting cropped sweater! I know you don‘t wear skirts or dresses but crop tops are useful with those, too. Have you ever owned a sarong that can be used as a blanket, towel, dress, skirt….?
I have heard "yarn chicken" before and think it is a very funny term! Yes, I think it would be great with skirts and dresses but right now I don't see myself wearing those☺
I have owned a thin big scarf but only used it as a beach towel and figured out that I don't need ut if I never use it in any other way. But I still have a pretty big winter scarf that I could use as a small blanket too ☺ I think these things are great, at least if you use the different possibilities ☺
I really want to learn to knit. Right now I'm learning how to sew so I can use a bunch of linen fabric I bought. Maybe that will be my next project.
That sounds great! Sewing is such a handy craft too but sometimes I prefer knitting because it is slower and you can always redo it (when sewing I always fear that I cut something wrongly and can't use the fabric anymore)
What size needles did you use? Highly informative video. Thank you.
Wow. I wanna make one for my girl. How long is the torso on the one you made? From shoulder top to front end of sweater?
it looks soooo beautiful!!!! i can knit some accessories with crochet needle but it's hard to knit a sweater for me:)
Thank you! But that sounds good too ☺
Hi Lia :-), thank you for sharing your experience.
I want to knit without a pattern, but I do not know how many stitches to cast on at the beginning. You said: "ones I had my swatch, I knew how many stitches to cast on for the neckline ". Can you please tell, how exactly did you count this ? You knitted the swatch in stockinette stitch, but the neckline is knitted in twisted rib, so how is that translated ? Have a good weekend, Gosia :-)
You are right, that was not the smartest decision. It would be better to also make a swatch in the rib you want to make the neckline in. But as a rough estimate, I think 1x1 ribbing is 70% of stockinette but stretched it is maybe the same ☺
@@ecofriendlia Thank you :-)
hi I just have a question about getting rid of something. my mother always told me never get rid of her sewing machine. she passed away in 2010 and I still have it but I want to get rid of it and get a new one.. but she specifically said "never", maybe because she thought it would bring me some money one day. it's old and she used it constantly so it starting to not work. How do I let it go?
If I don’t do from top down and start from the bottom up, how many stitches will I need for the back, front and sleeves.
Math, it's all math. LIfe is math, Whether cooking, building a house or knitting a sweater. The sweater and the black pants is a stunning outfit!
How many sweaters are you planning on knitting a year?
I'm wondering if the formula (1/3 for front, 1/3 for back, and the last 1/3 is split between the two arms) goes for anyone? Thank you.
Beautiful!! I love it!
