Objectively, i feel like Yedam’s argument was the best here. He looked at it as a way to improve himself and hone his skills in order to debut. Monthly evaluations are actually harsher as the comments are given outright. There’s no sugarcoating because there are no cameras, just the trainees and producers/staff.
I am just feeling thankful to idolplus for posting these clips with eng subs, i miss mashidam a lot, seeing these clips are like a painful healer for my poor heart.
Im not in the position to tell which one is better [3 years monthly eval vs. 3 years survival program] because I didnt experience them myself. BUT I'd like to say thank you to YG Treasure Box because it helped us see what these boys are capable and how much potential they hold even before debut. I'm not a YGTB era teume just pre-debut, but still, I hold on and waited for them because I know they deserve the love and support, considering the skills they've shown so far. And I'm so happy I came this far. I might be MIA sometimes due to personal schedules but I dont think I'll ever withdraw being a fan, and actually I'm even becoming more fan due to *The Second Step: Chapter Two* album songs. I'm gradually seeing the greatness I wished when I started supporting them, plus their artistry is topnotch. I just like and love them a lot. AND MANNN, I thought I'm handling myself well during MashiDam hiatus but seeing Mashi here really hits be that I wanna see him again as well with the whole group, of course with Yedam. No matter how long, I'll wait for you two. I hope you are doing fine in all aspects of life. ((P.S.: I need more debate contents from TREASURE pleaseeeee.. thanks!))

I personally think 3 years of monthly evaluation is better, harder and harsher cos that’s the first time their talents are being mold. It’s still a competition between you and everyone else plus the harsh reality of not knowing if you’re gonna debut bec you need to worry if you’re gonna survive the monthly evaluation first. Meanwhile, 3yrs of survival show is also harsh, but by then you already have the basics of being an idol, and appearing on tV will give you a chance to build supporters that even if you lack in some ways, if you have proper number of fans you still get lucky and get a chance for a debut. Plus,there’s a chance that another company will get them in case they get eliminated. I mean being on a survival show, if you fail and it gets broadcasted on national tv is painful but people who watched you will send support and encouragement. While being a trainee and doing the monthly evaluation, nobody will see your struggles, nobody will know what’s going on. You won’t have that support from the outside. But this is just my opinion, we will never know the depth of their struggles. What matters is that each of them worked hard to be where they are now. Lastly, MashiDam I miss you both.
While Both Monthly Evaluations & K-Pop Survival Programs have their Own, Respective Advantages & Disadvantages, I Agree with Hyun Sukkie's Words Towards the End of the Debate itself. During Monthly Evaluations, All of the Trainee Teams Hardly Meet Each Other on Daily Basis. (Especially the Team J Trainees With Those from Both Teams B & C, But Excluding Ji Hoonnie.) However During a K-Pop Survival Program, All Teams of Trainees Get to Interact with Each Other by Chance on Daily Basis.
