Even after earthly death, you still deliver precious nuggets of wisdom. Riposte in pace.

    Hello,
I came to your channel after having read one of your papers on Academia. I really like this video and I look forward to your others.
I want to make one point, which given your knowledge of Eastern Orthodoxy you must know, but it appeared to me that it was not so clear of a distinction made in your references to Orthodox remembrance of death in this video.
As I understand it: our view of the body is that man is made up of both body and soul which is how he was created. We do not burn or in anyway destroy a body once life has left it as it is part of us. In the resurrection we will have back our bodies just as Christ did when He Resurrected. Upon His Resurrection he took mankind physically into the heavens, in a now Glorified Body.
Our remembrance of death and what might look like distain for the body is only in relation to our being overcome by the passions of the body, or our giving it undue care that is prideful, and how this will impede our process of deification. In short we esteem the body within the proper confines.
    Thank you,
    Mark
