I remember loving this, and I disnt even konow that it was a single. This version has lost some of its original "offness" which I Totally adorded😅 probably polished up for the single release. Back in 92/93 i was hoping for a " I Stand Forever" with "Do You Know What I'm Saying 'on the b side.🤩 Wendy Rules! Thanks for sharing
Much underrated and overlooked singer. When TransVamp split and her solo-career almost failed - although her records were brilliant (as the Costello production shows) - she went to the US and faded into invisibility. But she is still active - not bad at all.
I'm an Elvis Costello fan but Elvis couldn't write a hit if he tried...and he did try. He wrote her an album with Cáit O' Riordan over a weekend and then wouldn't allow her to release it unless she took the full album which is pretty mean as none of the songs are particularly catchy. If they were any good Elvis would have recorded them later on.
Terrible. Elvis Costello couldn't write a hit even for himself - Why did she record his dreary boring songs? She should have picked an old obscure song and got someone to turn it into a dance song with a good hook...
@@benfoldsfunf4517 Top 100 isn't saying much. What about top tens or number ones? Never heard this song before but it seems a bit wishy washy and dreary, forgettable for Wendy and I think she deserved better.
She blew the band up to get credibility and failed miserably. I bought the CD and it stunk - critics liked it because it had Elvis Costello writing the lyrics - who gives a shit - the output was never the same because she could not replace the brilliance of Nick Sayer on guitar - man was totally underrated.
such a beautiful song
Nice song. Emotional melody.
danced like an ambulance - only costello would write such a line

So beautiful
Excellent song.
Wendy still hits hard like a wrecking ball, a sound all of her own.
Great song 🙂
Genial!!!! En España queremos saber más de esta chica
Wendy Still Rules! 💙💜
I REMEMBER SEEING THIS VERSION YEARS AGO, THANKS FOR UPLOADING !!
Великолепная Венди!
Приятная песня, в которой чувствуется некая интимность, усталость и сверху, как сахарная пудра - нежность..
Hottest look by far!
This is from 1993? WOW!!!
And written by Elvis Costello? WOW!!!

MORE WENDY JAMES AND TRANSVISION VAMP PLEASE ? THANK YOU SHINY.
Best song ever, I love the lyrics
The whole Costello produced album is worth it 🌋 🌟🌟🌟🌟
I love this, but it was never going to be a hit - people who love Elvis Costello don't like Wendy James, and vice versa.
Wet dreams

Not true. Hes had a lot of hits.
@@benfoldsfunf4517 Name some? He sure didn't help Wendy's fortunes much. Needed to be closer to her Vamp fanbase.
Olivers army was a huge hit .
Watching the detectives, Pump it up. Chelsea.
Lots of top-10 hits in the UK
