Gothic Homemaking Episode Five - Wardrobe of the Damned (Part One)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 28 вер 2024
- In an attempt to de-clutter the Lair, Aurelio Voltaire tosses his old pipe and drape wardrobe and goes about sourcing the building of a custom coffin-shaped wardrobe. A tour of Gothic clothing stores provides some inspiration as to what to fill it with. Special appearances by Adora Batbrat, Victoria Lovelace and Lilian Tod.Orville, as usual, is of no help at all!

I don't know how someone who's almost 50 can look like they're only 20 and trying to look older. Plus there's the music he makes. Voltaire is awesome.
Maybe not 20, but definitely not older than 30. And here's me, looking like I'm 16 if you look at my face, like I'm 40+ if you look at my body and actually being 25.
Vampires 🧛♂️ don’t age
@@atriyakoller136 Same 😭😭😭
is anyone else thinking how refreshing it is to watch a video on youtube that took EFFORT and TIME to make? Im not even extraordinarily interested in Home diy but Voltaire makes it entertaining as heck.
Yeah, it certainly looks like he dedicated a lot of time (and money) to create these episodes and they all turned out really well so var^^
in his newest noose letter (Jan 2017) that I oddly enough JUST watched, dude said he spent 10s of thousands of dollars todo all this. I'm not even surprised by that number after seeing all he did. he dun turned a NY shoe box into a mini goth mansion, it's so freaking cool.
Ria Wilkinson he filmed the parts where he is in other cities while he was on tour
I know, right? I'm generally terrible at decorating and organising space and I hate every second of it when I do it but watching this is hella entertaining
HAVE FUN STORMING THE CASTLE!
Voltaire made a Princess Bride reference...
I absolutely love his references that he throws into these episodes xD
I'm not remotely goth but I like watching videos by Voltaire.
RedWinterHero I'm 100% girly-girl, and this is one of my favorite channels to watch.
Geez this comment was from months ago ;) I wonder why I'm highlighted here lol
Same.
@@ah5721 old comment lol
@@RedWinterHero so ? its still valid :)
I'm not gothic but I do love the essence of gothic style and just how gorgeous it is. This series is making me want to go from "normal" housewife to "dark" housewife.
I may be 6 years late but you go girl!
There's a ton and a half of awesome in this episode, but Oh My Goth, if I ever get to NY, I'm hitting Gothic Renaissance like a bolt of lightning in a classic Universal horror. BOOM!
God this show is the best thing I've watched in a long time! My future roommates and I are making gothic home plans as soon as we get a place together
I appreciate a LEGITIMATE "home improvement" show that's not patronizing and has practical ideas~
10/10!
ADORA!! She is the Mom, I wish I could be. That woman is so gorgeous!
"She is still alive? 😶"
Let me tell you that I simply LOVE this show! Thanks for made it and for decided to share all this work, research, beauty and fun with us! 😄
This just gave me an idea. A small coffin dog bed would be cute for my Truffle.
I watched this episode before, but that didn't stop me from rewatching it :) this show is just so cool!
I saw Adora and Victoria, liked the vid before even watching it!!
Same here! LOL
I'm totally taking notes for my future house. I want to get a casket to use as an apothecary cupboard for my herbs, like Sally's from TNBC.
Just got your card, and thank you for the awesome show! And tell Orville he can piss off too!
"She sent me a love letter!"
"It was a restraining order!"
I thought I was gonna pee I laughed so hard!
This is the best show ever!
I LOVE the show. I have ha en listening/watching heile doing my art that im doing from home at the moment due to covid 19
I really love and look forward to these episodes.
Have you ever considered doing a tutorial or explanation on your makeup?
Because I really love your makeup
Orville got his throne after all!!!
Oh GOD that eye makeup!!! The outfit!!! Legendary!!!!!! Couldn't you just DIE?! 😍😃😍😀😍😃
Wow you went to Washington and it wasn't raining
I have just recently found your channel and have enjoyed all of your content. It's the perfect blend of goth, camp, and humor.
I was waiting for "The Vampire Club" to make it into an episode!
BUT CAN'T YOU LET A SPOOKY BROTHER DREAM?? DEFINITELY USING THAT FROM NOW ON!!
I wish we had a gothic clothing store where I live, however I have to shop online because I live in New Mexico in a small ski town and there is nothing like that here. I am going to go check out the Gothic Renaissance shop now :)
The quality of Aurelio's videos is superb. I do enjoy his videos a lot, I discovered him recently, a friend send me the link to one of his videos.
Have fun storming the castle!
Amazing, so well edited and funny. Good job, mate, I'm looking forward to the next part.
I've been to Gothic Renaissance before! Looove that store
The series is great! I will still move this year and I want to fulfill my dream of a creepy goth apartment. Your show is definitely a great inspiration for me!
When I was on vacation in New York I visited the Gothic renaissance store it is an awesome store!
in love with this series so many ideas for my future gothic mansion :) these truly fill me with so much happiness. I always look forward to your uploads!!
Aw man, I'm so jealous. We only have a very small, extremelly overprized goth store in my city. It doesn't even sell shoes, much less masks or armor. (And no I don't live in a small village or something, I live in the capital)
The day I travel abroad, first thing I'm doing is visiting every goth store and buying it all.
I just buy cheap stuff at secondhand stores and alter them
It saddens me that the Gothic store in NY is permanently closed. One of the true staples in the village along with Virgin Records music store and the Halloween store that was close by the Gothic store. No one knows what is good anymore! I would like to get back into dressing goth. Now we have to rely on online stores. Also, HUGE fan of your song When You're Evil! Listened to it since I was a wee lass! Take care, and will DEFINETLY be watching your homemaking videos for when I get a place for me and my fiancée!
They reopened
I am very much enjoying this it has given me so many ideas for DIY so far thank you Voltaire.
I met you this past Friday at Darkside of the Con! Thank you for the photo and the hug! I would love to do a collab with you :)
LOVE IT GOTHIC FASHION WOW I'M GOING TO BUY THAT!!!.
"Have fun storming the castle!" :D
My dad made me a coffin book case back in the spring :)
This has to be the best episode yet! 😍 if I wasn't totally broke all the time I would love to go shopping with you! 😂 I can't wait for more gothic home making goodness! xxx
So Voltaire loves black caulk and vampire balls? Nice.
Adora !! Episode one is still my favorite.
I was commissioned to relay the following message from the dark gods below: they're really proud of you, keep it up!
Holy crap. I love the clothing that shrine makes. Its just so regal and gothic. Its elegant and something I would totally dig. I'm more of a pastel sorta goth person. Its my favorite type of style. Yet regular goth is also my favorite. I love the cheesy sorta royal vampire theme.
I am LOVING THIS!!! I have needed this forever! I'm pairing this with Elvira so now I am set!
makes me want a coffin shaped bed and wall bat decals.
Cutest episode ever! 😫
This is such a great show! There is so much you can take away from this show and put your own personal taste to it if a gothic lair is not for you. I'll be sad when this series is over.
Minute 18:03: I was almost about to cry for how amazing Gothic Renassaince looks. ç_ç I really appreciated the sneak peek in gothic fashion in this episode! (wait, it doesn't mean the next episode will be the very last one, right? ...right?)
There are still a few more
Only a few?! (sniff, as a tear rolls down my white cheek)
I love the coat behind the owner of Shrine I would rock that coat in both the red and in a royal purple maybe even a silver or blue too
I NEED that long Shrine red/fur long coat!! :)
Friends of ours made a coffin for our Halloween wedding a year ago (that's it in my pic)
its enormous and a beautiful piece of furniture...and yes, we included air vents at either end.;)
it could hold quite a few suits but I prefer it as an isolation chamber ...ipod on, close the lid, off you drift.
Holy fuck that Gothic Renaissance has ARMOR!?!?!?; I need to check it out
Yay! New episode! keep them coming!
😸
When you're watching a show in English and is suddenly stopped by a loud and clear "Отлично!" in your native language...
I'm packing to move to my new place and need more ideas! When is the series coming back?
I , wished I have these close
Now I am super glad I took wood shop, but the things I need to build my own wardrobe may be out of my price range considering my noose-like budget.
Cant wait for season 2
Just got done watching these over again. I look forward to the day some television network schmuck picks up Voltaire, and we get to watch Gothic home renovation XD
Please tell me I'm not the only one who thinks that would be the shit?
I want so many of the clothes I saw today. If only I had the money for that type of stuff.
love love love!!!
The BEST episode! 😃 awesome.
Amazing video Voltaire, but maybe just a little less "wall to wall" background music all the time. Nice to have some silences with vox once in a while, then build crescendos.
Sorry, but the background music serves a dual purpose of masking the annoying as hell hissy noisefloor. Better to. have wall to wall music than hiss. And before anyone offers the "solution" I'm already aware of, let me say that I can barely keep up financially and time wise making these episodes at my own expense without doubling the work by switching to a dual audio system. So, again, my apologies. The show isn't perfect and without a real budget and support, it never will be. I accept it with its quaint flaws as " the best I can do for free". I hope you will, too. ; )
Hi Voltaire, but really no need to apologize at all. I'm a long time musical acquaintance of yours and I was just wondering why the music all the time since you have such an amazing speaking voice, and I now know the answer. As you once said in one of your vids, it's so hard to record in NYC without sirens, etc... I can understand that. I just want to let you know that your vids and music and attitude keep me gothically inspired, laughing, and they are just so beyond cool! When I'm feel down, your vids cheer me up!
I'm delighted to hear that!
you have inspired me to update my apartment too
Ahhh... clothes... now I know where to find them when I need to update my wardrobe! :-D
I believe 'baroque' is the word Peter is looking for to describe Shrine.
Seriously loving this series. I'm remodeling a bit myself
My poor Paypal account is gonna be low soon. Thanks for showing me these stores!
I so want to get something from Shrine of Hollywood. Sadly just one of their jackets costs as much as my entire paycheck.
17:08 i love her jacket...
I've been missing your FB post and videos. Hope all is well.
can i ask how you manage to look more cool as you age? are you like a demigod or something ?
ITS GOOD GENES,AND VOODOO FOR HIM,HA!HA! HONESTLY HE IS ONE GOOD LOOKING MAN!
I have to say I'm hooked on this and yes I have a bit if a crush 😍
I seriously missed my Gothic Homemaking fix this week.
I watched a video about Victoria, she's a vampire or at least gets inspiration from them.
I like that 1st background song when in the store. It was very Southern Gothic. I saw it was Voltaire's music. I figured so! What is that song called?
Gothic Renaissance is a beautiful store! Unfortunately I've never had much luck finding anything in my size there :(
i found it odd that you didn't just go straight to a cabinet maker or carpenter for your custom wardrobe/armoire when you found out that a standard coffin wouldn't work.
Well, surprise surprise. Maybe I'm just not that smart. Ha! ; p
Wait, how the hell did you get into the physical Shrine store?! I thought their brick and mortar shop was closed? Or did they open for you for the show?
IT's their showroom not a store.
Maybe Charlie and Orville can go shopping together.
I've been following the show and I really like it but I'd prefer that you'd feature more diy stuff like the bottle candelabra and less awesome but VERY expensive thrones and armoires. Don't get me wrong, I think they're really cool but they're definetly way out of my reach. I'm making a candelabra of my own and the show has been giving me all sorts of ideas for my bedroom. Looking forward to the next episode.
if i ever win the lottery I'm visiting these stores
i kinda want your fashion style Volt
This is the best series xD
when are we getting part 2???
April 1st.
Grrrr I need my own website! I probably could have helped you build your dream cabinet!
yes!!!
is nevertold casket co still around in seattle?
Heard of shrine but it's expensive if your a a single spooky cat mom with little cash to spare. Anyone know of any online websites that have goth or an alternative style to them? I usually just go to thrift stores and use that as a base and customize it. As far as leather work and acessories I have a guy for that.
Lady Lust
Eretika and Punkrave are the cheapest online shops I can think about.
Infectious Threads and GoodGoth are okay, too
Otlichno! :)
you are UNBELIEVABLY handsome! :)))) love your vidz!
Box spring??? On a Casket?
Is part 2 privated? And if so then why?
season two begins April 3rd
Okay, sweet! I was just playing the playlist and the last one was marked as private, so I wasn't sure. Thanks for responding!
Who made your intro animation? I’m looking for someone who could do some animations like that for my music video
you know, to think im less than a days travel away from Seattle. crazy! any other Oregonian or Washington goths?
Did custommade switch to just ring craft?
Sadly, I just looked up that the Nevertold Casket Co is permanently closed.
Only Voltaire would wear a scarf in Los Angeles
i MUST know where to get the armor with the goat-akull with the upside down cross !.
18:22
looking thru the comments...I'm pretty sure none of the young ones caught "le petit morts" (look it up lol)
