  • Fear of flying is a fear of being on an airplane, or other flying vehicle, such as a helicopter, while in flight. It is also referred to as flying anxiety, flying phobia, flight phobia, aviophobia, aerophobia, or pteromerhanophobia (although the penultimate also means a fear of drafts or of fresh air).
People with fear of flying experience intense, persistent fear or anxiety when they consider flying, as well as during flying. They will avoid flying if they can, and the fear, anxiety, and avoidance cause significant distress and impair their ability to function. Take-off, bad weather, and turbulence appear to be the most anxiety provoking aspects of flying.
Watch this now and get cured or at least helped from your flying fears and anxiety
Thank you very much for your time! I hope you enjoy this video!
    Wishing you all the best!

    1. Telling me stats on various modes of transport does NOT cure my flying anxiety
    2. I have no fear of terrorism or hijacking so knowing these stats does NOT cure my flying anxiety
    3. I already know how regulated flying and pilot licences are, knowing this does NOT cure my flying anxiety
    4. I already know what turbulence is and that planes are designed beyond turbulent conditions and having it explained to me again does NOT cure my flying anxiety
    5. Reducing my anxiety is exactly what I'm trying to find however telling me to turn up to the airport earlier definitley does NOT cure my flying anxiety
    6. I only fly with other people and doing this does NOT cure my flying anxiety.
In fact, this video does not cure my flying anxiety, it only reminds me I have an irrational fear and is a waste of 7 minutes. Sorry.

I am sorry you feel that way, another friendly tip is letting the cabin crew know when boarding, speaking by experience this usually makes the crew pay extra attention to you, including explaining noises etc.

Agreed! Part of the reason flying is just horrific is the absolutely inhumane conditions in the plane. Passengers are crammed in like sardines with barely enough room to sit comfortably (did not used to be like this)...the airlines do not have in flight movies/entertainment like they used to and expect all passengers to know how to self entertain on a 6 hour flight. Assuming every passenger has the tech skills to do this is cruel and presumptuous. And no one talks to each other anymore.....I used to fly back in the 1980's and it was a blast: bigger seats, more space, and fun interesting friendly people to meet (and drink with)...those were the days and if the airlines would return to treating passengers with dignity and respect rather than simply taking their $$ flying could possibly become tolerable again....maybe.

The last thing I wanted to see in order to reduce my fear of flying was crashed planes and dead bodies...even though statistically the chance of dying in a plane is 1 to 12million

    I dont fly
    I wont fly
The entire experience is nothing but a huge and inconvenient hassle.
I cant remember anyone describing a pleasant experience by air.
Some of us have medical issues that keep us off of planes.
There is no fear of flying there is a fear of suddenly not flying.

That is very true. Same concept as that there is no fear of heights, there is only fear of falling. I wish you well and hope you are able to fly in the near future!

Statistics do not help aviophobia....it is not about probablity but rather possibility....No one on UA-cam seems to get this. You can rattle off stats till you are blue in the face and it does not help!

Dude you cannot compare 11k to 16k flights world wide per day to 150 MILLION cars per day. That is such a bogus stat cooked up by the airlines. If there were only 16k cars on the road or put 150 million planes in the sky and I wonder if that stat would level off.
