2:29 Gravity is not a force. Therefore, Black Holes and any object with mass do not have a gravitational "pull". The mass of a black hole is so extreme that they warp space-time into a "hole". Light and matter that pass the event horizon get trapped in that hole and cannot escape. Light always travels in a straight line. It only looks like it is bending because it is traveling in a straight line along a curved surface. In a black hole, that curvature is so extreme that it terminates at the singularity. Einstein was able to postulate this since light has no mass. Therefore, he couldn't understand how light could be affected by gravity. Unlike objects with lesser mass where light travels along the curvature and continues around the other side, with a black hole, it's a one-way trip. Simplistically, like water down a drain.
