For engineers only. Feast your eyes on his fast repositioning of left hand. That’s a perfect human closed loop servo. No oscillation, fast, accurate and great position damping. In moves that must be near foot along neck. His brain must be working with at least second derivative of position , maybe third.
I love the drones you sat up on this tune On several occasions now I've sat with my eyes closed and listened to this repeatedly it's like a hypnotic drug
I can't tell you how many times I've returned to sit and listen to this tune of yours - the best rendition of bucks I've ever heard! Thank you for being an inspiration, and thanks for your amazing playing!!!
Footnote: According to Francis O'Neill, a famous pre-civil war blind piper named Patrick Flannery was, in 1855, playing the "Bucks of Oranmore" on the streets of Brooklyn in front of a fascinated audience when "the summons to eternity" came. Can't think of a happier tune to be playing, or a better way for a musician to bid adieu :)
Thanks! Suzanne (the bodhran lady) and I play in a band called Four of a Kind, and we recently released our first album. If you're interested, it's available through our website, www.fourofakind.nl
Perfect pace, the beauties of too many tunes get left behind at the hectic pace of many sessions IMHO. Great use of drones and cross picking technique here. Thumbs Up from Catalunya
Great playing love the sound you get from that Eatman, I've never managed to get sound like that from my Eastman 805v. Obviously uour technique is the msin thing but can you recall much about strings, microphone and pick on this vid? Love your stuff!
Amazing! I am really excited, I bought some Irish Bouzouki strings and I'm hoping to see if I can make my 12 string guitar into an Irish Bouzouki. Where do you find the music for these gorgeous pieces?
First of all gotta say love your music especially queen of argyll and autumn child. second thanks for opening my mind up to the bouzouki, i actually decided i was gonna learn to play piano, but the bouzouki honestly speaks to me more sound wise. Thirdly how would you recommend going about learning the bouzouki for a complete music noob i found a cheap ozark that im gonna order once my paycheck comes, but im having alot of difficulty finding instructional material. Anyway keep up the good work and stay frosty :D
Thanks! I must admit I don't know much about instruction material - I'm entirely self-taught. I've heard some good things about the Online Academy of Irish Music (www.oaim.ie), where the bouzouki is one of the instruments they offer lessons for. Other than that, it's much the same as with any instrument - listen to as many different good players as you can, start with trying to imitate and once you can do that, try to play variations and see what works.
Very nice playing, i realy like your channel. Im starting to playing Bouzouki myself and looking for inspiration ist great at your channel. Are there any tabs available or how are you learning the jiggs? Greetz from Hamburg Matze
Thanks! I never use tabs, too much bother when switching between instruments or tuning. I learn by ear or from sheet music, most tunes can be found on thesession.org.
Could you or someone possibly point me to the dots for this the way you play it? It's so confusing when I'm trying to teach an old dog (me) to read music and it's different than what I'm hearing..
Thanks! I use a pair of Rode NT1-A mics. I found out that, especially for string instruments, recording in stereo adds a whole lot of clarity to the sound.
Are you sure the guitar was DADGAD? I guess you are. haha You played the song. But why? I would have tuned the Martin to DADF#AD. Then you have a perfect D. Just a thought. Never mnd, you sounded great. I play mando lin and guitar, but I think I would like to switch to Bouziki because my hands are not as "bendy" as they once were. The larger fingerboard appeals to me.
Nicely done ! "and in F just because I can"... It means that the scale length of your longscale bouzouki is too long for a playing in D at 0 fret ? Sometimes, are "itchy fingers" not enough, with your Fylde ? Anyway, I congratulate you !
Thanks for your answer. Listening to your video "Toss the feathers", I have seen that you had yet answered to that kind of question, in the comments...

So beautiful. Makes me tearful... Would love to have an CD... Really class
Astonishing, I would love to sit and listen to your music all day long.

you should really make an album. many people would love that
F is my favorite key. I wish more players would get into it. Superb picking!
Lovely sound. I'm becoming enthralled with the Irish bouzouki.
I like your commitment to this style of music. It takes years to perfect. It seems so seamless. Thanks for your videos!
This is really fantastic, tasteful playing... beautiful!
One of the best playing of Bucks that I've had the pleasure of hearing. Thank you mate.
Fantástico. Te sigo desde hace bastante tiempo. Eres un músico increíble.
Love your playing.
Ah the bucks, an extravaganza of a reel indeed. Well played!
Wonderful!
Fabulous playing👏🏻
Can't wait to buy your cd! Your playing is so inspiring.. What great sessions you must go to! Hope that wonderful bodhran player is on it too!

I would totally buy this. I really love this.
Very nice. I really like the double stops you're playing in some variations of the third part.
If my life was perfect this would be the soundtrack ☘👍
You are even an inspiration to an ol' timer! Thanks!!!

Jeu très fluide et bon tempo ! Une sonorité agréable !

Awesome!
Excellent!!..did you do the guitar backing as well ?...I m loving that sound!
Bravo!!
This tune makes me stupid-happy.
Ever made an album yet?
Would be good with another guitar player :) or citern maybe.
The Bucks is a reel. And a reel is fast!
Wow - phenomenal accuracy and very musical! Did you play the accompaniment too? Really great.
Great!!!!
I can dig it
Amazing! I am really excited, I bought some Irish Bouzouki strings and I'm hoping to see if I can make my 12 string guitar into an Irish Bouzouki. Where do you find the music for these gorgeous pieces?
❤
This music belongs on the capsule of human culture to be launched to outer space someday.
Beautiful! I love the lovely ringing tones you get even with a capo. Is that a Greg Bennett Glider capo?
Tidy playing, thank you
Awesome. Just got my new bouzouki and this was the first thing I learned :P
Which strings are you using?
Very nice! Is this more or less the same tune Barney McKenna playes on the first Dubs album, titled (wrongly I think) The High Reel?
First of all gotta say love your music especially queen of argyll and autumn child. second thanks for opening my mind up to the bouzouki, i actually decided i was gonna learn to play piano, but the bouzouki honestly speaks to me more sound wise. TijnB42 Thanks alot 🙂 so keep doing What i am Allrdy doing Roger that Except for the imitation part need the instrument for that 😂
Great, do you play in ADAD?
It's a mix of guitar and banjo
Very nice playing, i realy like your channel. Im starting to playing Bouzouki myself and looking for inspiration ist great at your channel. Are there any tabs available or how are you learning the jiggs?

@@TijnB42 very nice, I will have a Look thank you so far and keep up the great work
Очень круто!
Are there any fakebooks or anything of the sort you would reccomend to intermediate level mando/guitar players looking for repertoire?
Thank you, I'm a fan ! What's your real name TijnB42 ?
Could you or someone possibly point me to the dots for this the way you play it? It's so confusing when I'm trying to teach an old dog (me) to read music and it's different than what I'm hearing..
Do you have a guitar player there with you ,or are you using a backing track?
Sorry if I sound silly, but I'm quite new to the bouzouki, are you tuned GDAD, or GDAE?
Erin Go Bragh
Sounds great! What mic do you use for recording this?
Thanks! I use a pair of Rode NT1-A mics. I found out that, especially for string instruments, recording in stereo adds a whole lot of clarity to the sound.
Nice. I've looked into the NT1-A and it's definitely a mic I'd like to get in the future. And yes, stereo adds a whole lot more!
Love the tone on this! Kind of a silly question, but what gauge plectrum are you using?
Thanks! That would be a 0.60 mm nylon Dunlop.
Did i see right? He never (or barely?) uses his pinky on the fret?
Tuning?
Are you sure the guitar was DADGAD? I guess you are. haha You played the song. But why? I would have tuned the Martin to DADF#AD. Then you have a perfect D. Just a thought. Never mnd, you sounded great. I play mando lin and guitar, but I think I would like to switch to Bouziki because my hands are not as "bendy" as they once were. The larger fingerboard appeals to me.
I know...probably it makes no sense to say to you..." bet you can't play it slow"!
Nicely done ! "and in F just because I can"... It means that the scale length of your longscale bouzouki is too long for a playing in D at 0 fret ? Sometimes, are "itchy fingers" not enough, with your Fylde ? Anyway, I congratulate you !
Thanks! I can play it in D without a capo fine enough, I just like to do different keys every now and then. Variety, spice of life, etc.
Thanks for your answer. Listening to your video "Toss the feathers", I have seen that you had yet answered to that kind of question, in the comments...
not bad
Bravo 👍
