God I wish i could go back to the summer of 2012 this album came out for just one more night. This album was part of my soundtrack to college days.

I do _highly_ recommend you do the Lice EPs (one of Aesop's colabs) [3 x 5 songs each]
They are way more chill and funky, and arguably more reaction friendly.

57:16 Yea, that's exactly what the man himself said the song was about.
Also, in the song Tetra he has a bit about ''suscidal tetra fish'', and there's that bar in Infinity Fill Goose Down ''why are all my tetra dead _yet again''_
I love how he can make death funny like that.

The only fish my daughter actually named was "Bloody Murder", the sole survivor of a dozen bloodfins. It's not just tetras, many fish are cannibals and don't play nice in confined spaces. I guess I'm saying this hits home while I'm currently navigating an amicable marooning, while trying to shake a 5150. This man keeps me on track.

@@ju4408 Came back from the seaside once to find one of my fish had jumped out, somehow stuck to the wall, and dried up there. Quirky. Fish have a weird thing with death. I should know, I'm Pisces.
Sorry to hear about your marooning brother, especially since you have a kid, can't be easy. Aes is a great item to bring to that sidequest, maps won't work there.

@@durere She had a Mystery Snail do that. Laid a big nasty clutch of eggs and jumped out the aquarium. Stank so bad, for weeks.
But thanks for the kind words. The little one's an artist, and showed in pictures she knew before we ever admitted it to each other. Amicible is the right word, cuz we're truly becoming best friends again, instead of whatever a marriage was supposed to be. Expectations and letdowns and grudges and pent-up aggressions bottled up for decades? Fuck all that noise. I'm losing my "wife", but getting my best friend back.
Sorry to vent. Always enjoy your comments, see them often.

@@ju4408 Well, then it's all for the better. I do believe that your wife should be your best friend, before she's your wife on paper. I mean, by the way you're describing it, you're not getting divorced, you're getting married. Us fish have a way of looking at things upside down compared to most other people, and one big gripe that we have with the whole marriage idea is ''why in the ever loving fuk are we getting the government involved?''
The vibe is infinitely more important than the paper. I wish you the best, and dream of having my own artist daughter down the road some day.

There is a music vidieo to zero dark thirty, it might give explanation to the acid trip.

Cycles to Gehenna is a masterpiece. Read Kipling's short poem "The Winners", learn the meanings of the names of the 3 Fates of Greek mythology and then watch the official video. And the movie Primer is pretty intense too.

It also goes over my head a bunch too! But it's never tedious, never wallows in his cornucopia of language it moreso lives in it. It's like a field of different colored flowers stretching a thousand miles long, you can never know ever single flower but you can appreciate the beauty for what it is. Love the reactions, have a god day my man!

@24:00 "shit blows up in your face" FAHKIN AWESOME! i had NEVER thought of that & that is soooooo the COOLEST WAY TO SEE IT & NOW I CAN TOO! listening to the album w/ u i, maybe 40% of it was UNDERSTOOD enough that i wouldn't HAVE TO REWIND to get meaning ORRRRR give it 100 listens WHILE READING LYRICS! point is, LOL, once u read lyrics while listening u'll get to point u'll trust him & get his sly slang & the elevationary evolutionary BECOMES THE SCENIC ROUTE TO JOY! I POSTED THE LINK TO THE LYRIC SHEET THAT CAME W/ THIS ALBUM & u do have UNIQUE, VALUABLE connections to his art, u just don't listen while reading the lyrics & that will get u lost & feeling like a lost adult SUCKS. Recording a reaction is the best time to read the lyrics too bc ur SITTING, LISTENING ALONe. the lyric Aesop wrote was "A-like androids dreaming of carbon applause get stuffed w/ cartoon cigars" i used to think it meant they would get pats on the back & celebratory cigars but the cigars were fake NOW I SEE NOT ONLY FAKE BUT TREACHEROUS & U DID THAT. wish u would'v looked at lyric sheet b4 u did this, but then video would'v been 48 hours cuz of pause/rewind & Ange would'v still had to drag u away

This album was one of the first I found by Aesop so holds a special place for me, I prefer Labor Days though. I spent so long trying to wrap my head around the album and still fight with parts of it. But even when you can't grok it there is just that effortless flow he has that you can treat as an instrument. I love Fryerstarter, a track about the people that flow through Bobs Doughnuts, all different but all with a shared love for the tasty delights :)

@15:36 'it doesn't get tedius.." IF U READ THE LYRICS WHILE U LISTEN IT WILL LIFT U UP OUT OF LIFE'S MUCK vs. JUST NOT BEING TEDIOUS. i never liked Cycles to Ghe.. but last year i watch a breakdown vid of it that had me crying but waaayyyyy tooo much w/ that & zero dark woooww

1:16:00 "it's a hell of an album" & to me that is the proof that u are an even bigger lover of aesop than me!! u just haven't soaked urself in everything he's done, studied his lyrics, wrote a cirriculum based on his lyrics & yet, u enjoy parts of his art i overlook, u seek to get it even tho, imo, u haven't even scratched how much his art will move YOU & change YOU. Still only done 2 songs that are in my top aes 25 (there's a top 100 soooo it's tough tier to break into)

aes did 2min vids for each song on this album while playing w/ cat at campsite! he talks about the beats mostly & doesn't give weight to his lyrics. @16:39 "not tedious but idk how much to take in" having lyrics pulled up gives u a tour guide. won't feel lost or unsure, u'll feel connected & expansive, & joy starts to thrive & multiply, soooo NOT TEDIOUS vs CONNECTED EXPANSIVE GROWTH???? here's link to aes shorts about skelethon but the lyrics are 4000% a better way to feel them embrace u. ua-cam.com/play/PLubIyIG7yDR7DucefWyDMG6-lxGmxBX1o.html&si=9SQ2v0Fkuq6km1cC

@12:08 "this verse i just wanna take all that stuff...it's alot.." ok so any aes song u react to w/ A LYRIC VID PLAYING i'll give u $20 for to. listening while seeing the words gives u 100 times more of a connection to the thoughts he expressing. i promise. it will blow ur mind how much more depth & breadth u get from it. the porcupine quills line was about the belts punks were that have all the metal spikes on em & i know u would've got it & wouldn't have any mental quandry moments that take u out of the experience. PPPLLEEEAAASSSEEE all the song on the playlist i made for you have the lyric that i'v verified. Once u see how he writes u'll get his dialect & growth spurts of joy will commnce. SITTING THRU THIS W/OUT THE WORDS AS REFERENCES IS BORDERLINE TORTURE. I ONLY STILL LISTEN TO 3 SONGS FROM THIS ALBUM Tetra on loop long time

watching w/ u birdflesh!!! ur about 10 mins ahead of me! u think he'll hear ZOSO in ZZZ Top & know it's Led Zepplin reference??? or "the Zeros" in this stall" = Zeroes punk band! i'd bet rollen has a tshirt for the zeroes!!! love how much rollen truly wants to understand aesop. Float is my fave album skelethon maybe 5th fave buttttt it moves me deeply still. Tetra only song in MY Aesop Top 10 from this album. in my top 10 for a decade & i just found out it's about fighting w/ his wife b4 divorce & almost getting committed on a 5150 72 hour hold. the start of the 2nd verse use to stump me & i'd just pray folks got thru start of verse cuz it's ossoooooo good BUTT start of 2nd verse is him talking about the deterioration of a relationship & the exaggerated stories told others about the battles they've survived. sooooo dope

Rollen is definitely feelin' the music on this album and catching just enough to get an idea of what these tracks are about! And, I love Tetra but I didn't know it was about his divorce! Now I'm going to hear this track differently than before - I need to check it out with this new perspective!

@@ju4408 just got into Tuff this year & it is niiicccce. i love Ruby too but aes' calls to action/"activist anthems', cause such breadth of growth in my soul. tracks like Big Bang, Commencement, Kill the Messanger, 9-5ers, Dryspell...If only 1 thing ever could be created, my vote is 4 aes's Float album, tho i'd miss Marble Cake & Tetra & Train Buffer & Skip Town,,, basically Ruby is too human & confined to real space/time stuff
