thank u for sharing bro. its great to know your story, and i feel just by being online and creating content, you are already at the top of my mind as a property agent. one of the few trusted agents providing content of VALUE
Very nice and inspirational Alan. I find your unique army tone quite refreshing as a property agent. Thats why I watch on. hahahha. Lets endure and hustle tgt.
Thank you for sharing your career trajectory and your entry into real estate business. What you have described in your real estate career is similar to what I imagine - tough business with no guarantee of success. Kudos for staying in the business for this long.
Alan, I lost my job at age 42!!! Not easy to find a job. And I just bought a brand new car. Fortunately, I make it in real estate industry... For 22 years!! Now got bad health.. time to exit the industry
He is absolutely right, I'm an agent myself, I made 70k+ on the first full calendar year as an agent (with experience in sales). But the inconsistencies has made me rethink of my career. After all I have a family now. Its tough but I think for graduates that is driven and self discipline, or semi retired people would be more suitable. But for career switch I would admire these people.😊
@gomugomu4489 Clients are generally ok. Not an issue. The unpleasant part of our jobs is dealing with unreasonable and incapable agents. You go and read Property Guru Q & A. You read the answers provided by the agents and you will know.
From an outsider point of view, maybe could you share your experience and exposure in the current saturated market of hdb with quite a handful of property agent's, is it not worth doing hdb sales, do u think if moving forward for new comers, directly going into private rental n landed is more productive with higher sales n revenue than hdb..lastly may i know just like any realtors , for example lim brothers, they mainly doing landed where big money can be made , from your perception singapore landed is there still money to be made,if not, how about new built landed and how is it operated and the end to end..I am just curious the development and progress of prpoerty development in Singapore because these day only bto very hot and in huge volume and private very quiet and seem like no profit margin as attractive as before. What is your take??🤔🤫🫣
Firstly. I don't have real number. But I can only say the 80/20 rules apply. Only 20% are active agents. The rest are part timers or just park licences. Every segment has money to make. Be it small or big. As long as there is a property transaction. Agents are still required. But with AI n DIY buyers n sellers esp with HDB portal. It's true some segment will face headwind. This is unavoidable. Like jobs going overseas or remote working, etc. we just have to embrace changes & move along. Nothing is static. It's every changing. Welcome to the brave new world. It's never easy 15 years ago. It's never easy today.
Hi Alan, it is very refreshing to learn about your own life story. Almost every other property channel simply discuss about the latest news-breaking headlines or they just talk about new launches, be it BTO or Condo. Every industry has its own ups and downs. Yet you chose to persevere through the downs and so you finally made a success when the market goes up. I am not in the property industry and you already have earned my respect. I'm sure your story will inspire many others who are in your industry. Just like the books you have read, journey on and unfold the next chapter in your life. I wish you all the best.
Hi Alan, Thank you for your sharing! In video 0.33, it should be in the early 2000s? Instead of 2020s. In video 4.18, we need to split a 10% cut to the company after deducting our expenses and income tax. For splitting a 10% cut to the company is before deducting expenses and incom tax?
Alan , you are 1 of the few lucky people who manage to turn the darkest period of your life around to become successful. For most people like me, who lost my whole fortune and unable to turn around can't speak of our past. Hopefully 1 day I can engage your service to buy a property.

Property agents don't earn a lot of money. Only about 500 agents earned more than $150000 lah.
Don't be an agent unless you can't find a job
@@steventay5834 Yes. the odds is against one if don't have that biz mindset.
@@mariantia926 HDB, private condo and landed property. Commercial and industrial. Sales and rentals. But, u must have the human skills to survive

Thx for sharing Alan. I was also retrenched in 2016 as the sole breadwinner. I totally understand what you went through.
