This is a nice way to show the difference between them. Theyre both whimsical but Gene Wilders Wonka is more fatherly and caring while Depps is childlike and eccentric👏👏👏👏
Yeah Timothee knocks it out of the park with this. As does Hugh Grant. Hilarious and wholesome. Need to suspend some disbelief but all in all a really fun movie. 9.8/10

This is the first time I ever noticed just how sweet Gene Wilders Willy Wonka voice is. Compared to Johnny Depps socially anxious way of speaking, Wilder speaks with such a calm and gentle tone of voice. Both performances work perfectly for their respective film adaptations, as they tell different stories for Willy Wonka.
