We have all boys and they do a Christmas Eve sleepover every year in one of their bedrooms, lots of laughter and they exchange their gifts to each other that night. My sister and I have an old cloth bag with a christmas bear on the front that we exchanged every year with a small gift in it to each other. The bear bag has been passed back and forth for at least 20+ years❤. We have so so many traditions, but those two are priceless.
I hav 4 kids 14,11,9,7 We do lots of Xmas Crafts It doesn’t snow where I live so no snow traditions!!! Few days b4 Xmas we get a huge bag of deer corn walk through the woods n leav piles of corn out for the deer (reindeer)!!! We shop for each other, bake, put on individual Xmas plays, Xmas is really small in our home bc of lack of income so we do a lot of free fun family things!! On Xmas morning we sing Happy Bday to Jesus n blow out a candle for him!!! Than kids open 4 presents each!! Plus stocking
Every year to kick off the season, usually on the 1st of December we watch the Polar Express. It's our special Christmas movie night and I make hot chocolate with marshmallows and whipped cream and candy canes and popcorn. The kids love it. We also have a list of movies we watch every year. We do our advent countdown, shop for the secret santa sibling gift, bake cookies, and visit santa. We also like to look at lights whenever we're out and about. I also like to take the kids to at least 1 or 2 Christmas events for the season, sometimes more.
This year we started doing advent through picture books! I wrapped 25 picture books (one to be opened on each day leading up to Christmas). My girls love to run to the basket, find the book, and read first thing in the morning. (They are 2yo and 4yo). Today we read "The Legend of the Poinsettia". Our favorite so far was "My Christmas List" by Amy Parker.
We do our son's stocking the day after Christmas. That gives him one more day to enjoy the season. We also do not do Santa Claus. His stocking is 3 ft tall so it is a big deal. 😂 Merry Christmas to your sweet family.
I love the pillow surprises! We are boring 😂 our town has a huge lights display, so we drive through it. We bake a lot and give away a lot. We do gingerbread houses, decorate cookies, and we try to pick names off our local Angel tree, we fill up the blessing boxes in our town, we usually do the shoeboxes but didn’t get to this year. 😞 I loved your advent calendar! We do a Christmas Advent that tells the story of Jesus leading up to his birth. We sing Christmas Carol's as a family and always play Christmas music. We do cookie baking day. Our girls buy each other gifts as well (definitely dollar store! Lol) it's always interesting to see what they'd buy for their sibling 😆❤️ On Christmas day I make homemade cinnamon rolls. I wake up extra early to get them started 😋 We don't do santa either, although he is a fun character they know about and sing about. I hold to the tradition of putting gifts under the tree on Christmas Eve because I LOVE the look on their faces when they wake up. I really enjoy staying up with my husband to tuck them under the tree and sit in the glow of the Christmas lights ❤️ We drive around our neighborhood to see the houses all lit up and our town square is always decorated so beautifully! We visit extended family that isn't close to home. I keep a basket full of our Christmas books and we read those throughout the month. We do crafts and have a fun Christmas countdown sign on our school whiteboard ❤️🎁 I love hearing others' Christmas traditions!

My husband and I both grew up not doing Santa, so our families cause us no grief over this 😊 We read books and watch shows about Santa, but he’s just a fictional character for the kids 🎅🏻
We always go to my husbands parents house and open a bunch of presents on Christmas Eve. He opened all his gifts Christmas Eve growing up. I like to open gifts Christmas Day. The kids get a gift from Jesus (we don’t do Santa) that they open up on Christmas morning along with gifts from mom and dad. A tradition my husband family does is we make a birthday cake for Jesus and sing him Happy birthday. My family has been making the cake the last couple years and my kids help think what kind of cake Jesus would want for His birthday.
