it was a warm winters day I decide to head out with the gopro to find the fish after the winter stormsfishing one of New Zealand's best braided trout rivers with soft baits.
today I was fishing with gulb softbait with 1/4lb jig head , it was a good day fishing and I got the first fish early on but the brown trout are still spread wide in the river but they are in good condition from the mild winter.
the brown trout are holding their colour well and looked really good in the late winter sun.
using a spinning rod set up with braid and mono the soft baits cast out very well and in these braided river systems that are not gin clear they can out fish dry flys when the water is bit cloudy and perfect for spinner fishing with soft baits
