- Elisseeff Emporium in St. Petersburg is a large retail and entertainment complex, including a famous food hall, constructed in 1902-1903 for the Elisseeff Brothers. Located at 56 Nevsky Prospekt, the complex consists of three buildings, although the corner one is the structure that is referred to as Elisseeff's store or shop (Елисеевский магазин). Designed by architect Gabriel Baranovsky, it is one of the most striking examples of St. Petersburg Art Nouveau architecture, although at the time of its construction the building was considered controversial.
Dear friend Sergey, I was there several times. I have been all over the world but nowhere such a show of quality and esthetica. This shop is unique in the world.

Sergey it looks like an amazing shop. I love the old World atmosphere. Makes me sad really that all our shops in Ireland are now glass and stainless steel. In the olden days they really knew how to do things. So upmarket and making shopping an experience.

I remember in the Soviet times instead of cafe there were 2 cashier stations ( касса) with long lines . Btw, There is another identical to this Eliseev store in Moscow! The special Eliseev wines are actually Georgian wines. They are uniquely delicious!

I took a girl from St. Petersburg to Antalya in the summer of 2021, right before all the mess. I think I saw her in this video but she's changed a lot. I wonder what became of her. She was married when we met and her husband sent me angry texts after she went back but I just blocked them. A tidy life is not worth living.
