Following his disappearance, Stryder (a.k.a. Chafe) was spotted in New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming and Canada. He was finally captured in Bozeman, Montana on January 15, 2014. He was located after a detective discovered that he was using one of his aliases. He pleaded guilty to four sexual abuse and rape charges and was sentenced to five-and-a-half years in prison. He died in prison in 2016.

As a result of the broadcast, Tamera Tignor came forward, claiming to have seen the killer fleeing the scene on the day of the murders. However, she did not know his identity. In 2001, lead investigator Larry Forsyth had DNA testing done on the hairs found on the killer's hat. In 2003, George Washington Hicks was charged with Roxann and Kristopher's murders due to a DNA match with the hairs. DNA from Roxann's rape kit also matched him. He had been in prison in Rosharon, Texas since 1993, serving an unrelated eighty-year sentence for aggravated sexual assault.
Authorities first tried Hicks for the murder of Roxann Jeeves. Along with the DNA evidence, his ex-wife and her children also linked him to a notebook, the sports bag, the holster, and other evidence found in the car. Several witnesses who had seen the killer fleeing, including Tamera, also identified him. He was convicted of Roxann's murder in 2007 and sentenced to life in prison.
Prosecutors put Hicks on trial for Kristopher's murder in 2014 to ensure that he will never be paroled from prison. He was then convicted in Kristopher's case and given another life sentence.
As for the female suspect, Hicks has never mentioned her and she has never been identified. However, according to a 2003 article, investigators do not consider a suspect; she is only being sought after as a potential witness. No recent articles or stories about the case have mentioned her, so it can be assumed that the authorities are no longer actively searching for her.
Gloria died because the system failed. He should have been kept in prison for the rest of his life.

When authorities are warned, strongly warned, that he is a vicious killer and should not be released, it is my belief that any crime committed by the offender after his release should also have charges levied at the parole board members who voted to let him out, as accomplices!!!!

She was in her early 40s when they met and would now be in her mid 70s. Unsure if her mom is alive now as she would be in her early 90s.

Strider went missing because he was facing a rape charges and telling total bullshit stories...why the fuck do they let these bastards out when facing so many charges...what a fucked up justice system..only got 5 1/2 years...should have been castrated and never let out again...no shit Sherlock..someone was in trouble...what a vile low life shit to kill her and the kid...took 22 years to find the vile bastard...should have been executed not waste state money....another miracle that makes a lot of money that is the only miracle...it was an asteroid breaking up not a miracle...glad he found his lost daughter what happened to her mother...what the fuck is wrong with the justice system releasing him early despite being sentenced to life..life means life you fuckwits not a few years and let go free...the guard was a lousy shot...absolute fucked up justice system...should never ever get out...hope everyone on that parole board feels guilty for letting that vile bastard out...they should all be in gaol...glad he got executed...
