I think one of my favorite parts about your channel is that it’s very clear that you two are not only partners but absolute best friends. And being someone who is in a very similar relationship myself it’s so nice to see other people living that happy togetherness life that I’ve enjoyed lately 😊
My four year old and I love watching your videos. She's becoming excited to forage and grow things with me. I also appreciate the peacefulness of your videos and the music! I grew up in the back woods, and currently live in a city, so your work touches my soul, and inspires me to try gathering what I can from a small garden.
Aren't you clever. Your sausage looks wonderful, and I bet it is quite tasty. Your mittens are perfect. Did you see that smile on your man's face? Please don't waste energy looking for flaws. I appreciate watching you two navigate the challenge. You are doing brilliantly. If you don't have an egg,but need a binder, boil a small potato until it falls apart. Use the thick potato water in place of an egg. It works well with fine corn flour and acorn flour. Your pianist friend plays well. I enjoy listening to him. You too have a happy new year.
As a newbie to foraging, homesteading and growing all at the same time. You guys have been so helpful. Hopefully my hive will produce something next year...
I've made most of my Christmas gifts now for close to 50 years. It is nice to see others doing the same. I also love to see what you do with your venison as it gives me new ideas. Definitely going to make some breakfast sausage!
Too funny the parallels with us...I just shot my first deer and made summer sausage, jerky, and pressure canned cubed venison to go with my backstraps and steaks in the freezer. AND I literally also only foraged ONE morel this year! My job has been too busy and I haven't uploaded any videos for my deer hunt and processing, but my beef canning video is the same process I used for my venison!
You spoke of your love of eggs. If you can't have chickens at your house, you can have quail. Coturnix quail will give you about an egg a day per hen and while the eggs are smaller than chickens (about 3 to 1) there is more yolk than whites, the yolk has more nutrition than a chicken egg and people love quail eggs for baking. You don't need much space at all to keep them and they are not considered livestock like chickens so living in the "city limits" dosent matter. People keep quail in apartments without issue. I think having egg layers at home is a must. Love your content.
Omg love love love your content guys! It is so chill and good to watch these food videos. What is the food / ingredient that you miss the most during this challenge? xoxo
I look forward to your videos every week. We just moved to our homestead this year and have never done any of these things. I'm excited to learn from you all!
Cutting with a very sharp knife makes for very satisfying content. Very jealous! I'll need to look into those sharpening stone things, what are they called?
Eggs are a staple in our house. We love them and eat them every day. So I totally get them being a luxury kinda like. Love the mittens! I’m a crafter and I make a lot of my own Christmas gifts. I really enjoy doing it and at least my gifts are unique. Enjoyed the video! ❤️💜💚
Natural fish pond would work wonders. Look up Chanunpa in South America. If you make a natural pond it will feed itself and you’ll get fish. You can also use the sediment for fertilizer.
@@Madamoizillion I wasn't sure what kinda space they were working with but large curved trellises would be perfect and vertical gardening. If you can't go out go up.
Your bark tanning is so inspirational! I have tossed tote after tote of rotten hides (sheep and deer) and never got it quite right. I live in NY used mostly spring sumac with some oak bark mixed in. How do you tell if it is concentrated enough? Any recommendations for books/instructions? Thanks for all you do, and the music is an absolutely lovely compliment to your inspiring projects! I love it all 💖
I once accidentally fumigated our apartment and made my husband flee in terror by taking the blender lid off of a batch of hot sauce without letting the fumes settle.
I’ve been making birria with my venison shanks. The meat just melts in your mouth. The plus is that you get a pot of rich soup for one meal and birria tacos for another. Now I’m hungry thinking about it. Gotta go…….
I think you can grind up some morels into a slurry and splash it around your mushroom grounds. You just want to probably do some research on which trees and time of year work best. I've seen titles yo videos on here but never watched them.
You have a short about making soap, you then state how do you clean utensils after soaping. The way I do it is leave all the dishes for 24 to 48 hours then the lye will be gone, wash and enjoy the bubbles, washing immediately after is a greasy mess 🤗

The best way to incorporate butter into biscuits and pie crusts is to grate the butter into the flour mixture.

Nevermind, I just found your bark tanning video. A barkometer who knew!? I love ALL of your videos!

THESE MITTENS ARE SO FREAKING COOL!!
You rock guys! 🌞 So many things to learn from you:)
Those mittens are super cool!!!❤
Laughed out loud when you asked your dog how long he/she would take to eat that meat.😂
Merry Christmas guys. You are doing great 👍
Same here. Wonder if Little Moo was thinking, "Just drop that over the edge and see!"
Your hair is so beautiful. Can you tell us how you wash/care for your hair? I am looking forward to a soapmaking video with the deer tallow as well!
I had a sympathy sneeze while watching all the herbs get ground up 😅
You did an amazing job on the gloves! Thank you for the inspiration 🙏
Off topic but little Moo is the most adorable baby I've ever seen (after my own dog, of course! lol) Love your videos btw ❤😊
I look forward to these weekly updates, very different life style but your recipes and processes are inspiring. Thanks.
Lovely! Merry Christmas 🎄⛄🙏

For me it’s crusty bread and for Jordan it’s ice cream 🙂

I have a non electric grinder because the power goes off often. I grow a lot of herbs in my garden.
Wishing you a wonderful Holiday Season ❤
Thanks, same to you!

Wholesome
I love the mittens!
Seriously those mittens are awesome 👌
Your dog is so cute! So are you guys, ahh! 💙
Can you talk about typical breakfasts for when you don't have eggs?
Have you thought about waterglassing your extra eggs during the summer? We’re trying our first batch now ❤
Do you buy butter and salt? Can you walk us through what you buy?

That’s actually what we made for dinner tonight, except with a shoulder. One of our favorites 🙂
I am curious now, is Cow in on the living off the land challenge?
I love talks mortal and pestal. Mine is wood and I can’t not grind anything in it
Cool tell us the story of how you guys met
What do you feed your chickens?
Well mannered dog
Pork fat would be really delicious in the sausage if you know someone who raises pigs you could trade with.
I want a pair. Lol no they're beautiful

Is that sewing machine a heavy duty machine

IDK how you guys don't have at least a couple laying hens of your own!
You're so pretty!
