    I think one of my favorite parts about your channel is that it’s very clear that you two are not only partners but absolute best friends. And being someone who is in a very similar relationship myself it’s so nice to see other people living that happy togetherness life that I’ve enjoyed lately 😊

    Aren't you clever. Your sausage looks wonderful, and I bet it is quite tasty. Your mittens are perfect. Did you see that smile on your man's face? Please don't waste energy looking for flaws. I appreciate watching you two navigate the challenge. You are doing brilliantly. If you don't have an egg,but need a binder, boil a small potato until it falls apart. Use the thick potato water in place of an egg. It works well with fine corn flour and acorn flour. Your pianist friend plays well. I enjoy listening to him. You too have a happy new year.

    My four year old and I love watching your videos. She's becoming excited to forage and grow things with me. I also appreciate the peacefulness of your videos and the music!
    I grew up in the back woods, and currently live in a city, so your work touches my soul, and inspires me to try gathering what I can from a small garden.

    The best way to incorporate butter into biscuits and pie crusts is to grate the butter into the flour mixture.

    I've made most of my Christmas gifts now for close to 50 years. It is nice to see others doing the same. I also love to see what you do with your venison as it gives me new ideas. Definitely going to make some breakfast sausage!

    Too funny the parallels with us...I just shot my first deer and made summer sausage, jerky, and pressure canned cubed venison to go with my backstraps and steaks in the freezer. AND I literally also only foraged ONE morel this year! My job has been too busy and I haven't uploaded any videos for my deer hunt and processing, but my beef canning video is the same process I used for my venison!

    You spoke of your love of eggs. If you can't have chickens at your house, you can have quail. Coturnix quail will give you about an egg a day per hen and while the eggs are smaller than chickens (about 3 to 1) there is more yolk than whites, the yolk has more nutrition than a chicken egg and people love quail eggs for baking. You don't need much space at all to keep them and they are not considered livestock like chickens so living in the "city limits" dosent matter. People keep quail in apartments without issue. I think having egg layers at home is a must. Love your content.

    I once accidentally fumigated our apartment and made my husband flee in terror by taking the blender lid off of a batch of hot sauce without letting the fumes settle.

      Eek, I've been cleaning out stuff in our fridge and pantry and that includes emptying old jars and bottles of peppers and hot sauce into the sink, and man does it make me cough and my hands burn when I don't wear gloves, even if I think I'm being careful and not seeing any splashes. 🥵

    Eggs are a staple in our house. We love them and eat them every day. So I totally get them being a luxury kinda like. Love the mittens! I’m a crafter and I make a lot of my own Christmas gifts. I really enjoy doing it and at least my gifts are unique. Enjoyed the video!

    I’ve been making birria with my venison shanks. The meat just melts in your mouth. The plus is that you get a pot of rich soup for one meal and birria tacos for another. Now I’m hungry thinking about it. Gotta go…….

    I think you can grind up some morels into a slurry and splash it around your mushroom grounds. You just want to probably do some research on which trees and time of year work best. I've seen titles yo videos on here but never watched them.

    Natural fish pond would work wonders. Look up Chanunpa in South America. If you make a natural pond it will feed itself and you’ll get fish. You can also use the sediment for fertilizer.

    • @Madamoizillion
      @Madamoizillion 4 місяці тому

      They've said they don't have much room on their 1/4 acre property, and that includes their house's footprint. A fish pond probably wouldn't be an efficient use of precious space.

    • @Memorial_Memory

      @@Madamoizillion I wasn't sure what kinda space they were working with but large curved trellises would be perfect and vertical gardening. If you can't go out go up.

    You have a short about making soap, you then state how do you clean utensils after soaping. The way I do it is leave all the dishes for 24 to 48 hours then the lye will be gone, wash and enjoy the bubbles, washing immediately after is a greasy mess 🤗
