- Part 1 of 2: singing test results.
Swedish a capella-group Avocalypse tests hand-held live microphones from different brands, to find the best ones for live singing performance. The tested microphones are: Shure SM58, Beyerdynamic Tg-V50d, Röde M2, Röde S1, Audio Technica 2010, Electro voice RE410, Sennheiser E865, Sennheiser E965, and Neumann KMS105
This is the first of two videos in which we totally dissect every aspect of these microphones!
Watch part 2 of the test here: • Avocalypse microphone ...
Wow! You really put some time into this test. Thank you! And your voices blend beautifully.
I've had the EV RE410 for about 5yrs and its awesome! I have a little weaker and less volume in the lower range so I've removed the bass ring so i can use the proximity effect for a bit more bass. Fantastic mic!
Very interesting. Thanks for your effort.
Love the EV RE 410
The differences in sound seem much more obvious on the male voice then on the 1st soprano. The Shure sounded terrible on the bass, but rather okay on the soprano. Neumann more natural, open and airy then the others, Sennheiser more "solid" and compact.
why didn't you try the Shure KSM9?
It is top of the line.
I don't know if these guys have spent a long time living in the UK, but they sound more like Brits who have picked up a bit of a Swedish accent, their English is that good - particularly the guy in black.
Would you like to test Gecko Music Group's microphone Passion MP8305 with C.R.I.S.T.A.L. technology along with the other microphones? The accuracy of the reproduction of the sound source is unbelievably natural and clear.
Do check the website www.geckomusic.net
did you put the results for the feedback tests in the video?
Me Neumann-KMS105 is Super...!
What is this song called? Is there a full performance available?
Thanks !! Blue mic enCORE 100 ?
Hey. I have a question:
What kind of microphone was using a lector in this film? Because of I'm looking for the microphone as a master of ceremonies.
Thanks in advance for the reply.
Excelente.
Thanks! :)
Great Shootout. Thanks.
I hope that all of the singers sung better than what I herd on this review.
its heard by the way. Dope.
El legendario shure 5.1
Sorry guys, your "feedback resistance test" is IMO complentely useless nonsens (if it was done the way its shown on the video). You can NOT measure feedback resistance ON AXIS (unless you are using wedges on stage right behind your head)!
Great test anyway, what a pity that you have only a few mics included and some important models missing (mentioned KSM9, DPA d:facto and my favorite "budget" vocal condenser EV RE510 to name a few) but I understand that it would have to take enormous amount of time to test all the mics availabe on the market :-) .
Anyway, your test is very well filmed and entertaining, thank you.
