    An amazing photographer and an amazing collection of dvd's (The Art Behind The Head Shot & Illuminating The Face). Not a small purchase, but a huge investment!

    This is the first time I'm seeing anyone but Myself use the Arca Swiss P0. A lovely ball head that for some reason never got popular with photographers. Same for the Arca Swiss SlideFix system it utilises.

    Boom! Continue to do the great work. I think everyone on UA-cam has really gotten to be spoiled. Spoiled in the sense that they want everything to learn or know for free. I think the guy deserves respect and why not pay for something to learn. College is not free and why should someone give anyone free tips at all times for the hard paying dues ;)
    I sure love this guy, mad props and respect!
    Best Regards,
    Oscar Rodriguez

    Ooooo My, this is unbelievable. The release this video is perfect timing for me. I just now started working again after being off work for the better part of two years. Do to the lack of income I was not able to purchase anything in regards to my photography. So now that I am back to work one of the first things I am buying is this video. Not only will this video cut my learning curve on lighting faces, but I can go out and purchase the lighting that intrigues rather than buying pieces that won't suit my creative needs.
    I think the value of this video at least for me is going to be much deeper than whats apparent on the surface. I also realize the work you guys but into to your products and the quality you are aiming for in them. So thank you very much.
    Sincerely,
    William Shannahan ......(Wes)

    Looks amazing but is this just how you light up the faces and bodies or does this DVD include posing and tips for controlling models or is that in the The Art Behind the Headshots?

      ***** I was just curious, Peter. If you don't see a problem with it, then neither do I. I love your headshots and you're someone I aspire to be. Working on getting my lights just like yours.

      Honestly I think it looks too extreme, and it takes the focus away in that shot. Pretending mistakes don't exist doesn't make it any better. Just because you are good, doesn't mean you can't get better. To me it seems like you are just stubborn, and unable to swallow your pride. Your loss.

    Are you working with continuos light from your lighting or does the strobe go off to capture the image. Love your work by the way. I'm just starting and trying to learn all I can.

    • @peter_hurley
      @peter_hurley  4 роки тому

      Mark Brown get in Headshot Crew and you can learn all of it. I use continuous in front and strobe to light the background.

      @@peter_hurley Hi Peter thank you for replying. Is 150w modeling light ok for a hobbyist? I have 3 people that will pose for me to get a portfolio started but I'm still using speedlites but with speedlites you dont really know what your gonna get till to take the photo.

    • @peter_hurley
      @peter_hurley  4 роки тому

      @@markbrown8251 I learned by trial and error, so just go for it. The output should be totally fine from a speedlite.

    • @tsunimee
      @tsunimee 10 років тому +11

      Sorry to be blunt but I think it's time I unsuscribed. If this channel is going to be all about infomercials then I am not interested anymore. Nothing wrong with promoting your hard work, seminars, workshops and the like but that's not what I was hoping to find from subscribing to your channel after the 2 promising videos about chin position to look more flattering on photos. I am leaving the ship at this stage but wishing you all the best in your ventures. x

      lol Way too expensive. Especially since people already paid $300 for his first one and he didn't tell them shit. It was basically just watching him shoot the shit with clients while shooting them. There's only so much coaching you need to see.

    Selling a tutorial on lighting when the catch lights in the eyes make you look like lizards is not a great way to sell your product. It makes people look sinister and untrustworthy as if they were a reptile in disguise and not to be trusted. Having said that I really appreciate all your tutorials and advice from the videos you have made. Thank you Peter Hurley. You are truly a master of your craft and a very likable person. Cheers.

    • @peter_hurley

      Well I make my living by doing that, so unless you've got a system that's better and can make more income than what I'm doing I'm sticking with it. But if you got one fill me in.

    I always thought, and found through my experiences, that dark skin absorbs light, so increasing the amount of light is needed to illuminate properly. Black absorbs light. BTW, I'm a big fan of what and how you achieve the end result. Photography is an art but the dynamics of your interaction with the models is also an art form and separates the good from the great. Anyone can buy the gear and learn the techniques but not everyone can pull the best from the client by making them feel relaxed and trust the person behind the lens. Performing in front of the camera can be embarrassing and uncomfortable for many people, even actors. So, taking direction and having a spot light focused on them is a learning experience for their acting education. You, you're good you. Or I could be full of shit.
