Grew up listening to the origin version first, under the impression that this was towards a second person. However, once I heard the Ev EP, man... that took me to a whole other place, one of self-reflection, looking within myself, realizing I too am afraid but cannot refrain or else I'll be alone, walking aimlessly for eternity. The power of musical interpretation knows no bounds, and for that is another reason Evanescence will always be my #1 favorite band of all time.
I'm really looking forward to that one. In order to keep myself from doing all my favorites first I've been randomly selecting a few and having people vote on them. Whisper unfortunately hasn't been randomly selected yet, but hopefully it will be soon!
