This group has a long history...they started in 2012 as 12 members split into 2 groups that sang the same songs (EXO-K sang in Korean, EXO-M in mandarin chinese). They were 12 members for about 3 years, then a couple chinese members left , leaving 10, you'll see a couple MVs with 10 members, then the 3rd chinese member left, leaving 9 which is where they stand today. But 1 remaining chinese member was forced by China to not promote with a group from Korea anymore, thats why in some of the later MVs, you'll see only 8...Now they are coming of the age where they are required to enlist in the Military, as all Korean males are required to do. So far 3 have completed their service and 3 are currently in the military. Two have yet to join. So with all this being said, that is why some MVs have 12, some 10,9,8 and 6 members.

"Tempo" was not produced by Teddy Riley, rather the producers who wrote "Tempo" were inspired by his music. Teddy produced the EXO songs "Call me baby", "What is love" and "Beautiful", only these three as far as I know

Oh i wish we can take slow down to give him "the information", so he can really enjoy to catch up. But, hey EXO is just phenomenal and legend, and we cant cover it up at all. Too much going on, even with their 'hiatus' status. Even i am also quiet new to this fandom, but i feel like still amazed by their presence.
EXO were literally the only kpop group that could convert me into a fan. Once you go down the rabbit hole there is no way out, their discography, both as a group and as sub-units and soloists, is TOP-TIER!
The song is called "Tempo" and the album is named Don't Mess Up My Tempo, so, the tempo keeps speeding up and slowing down. I think the change in tempo is also supposed to mirror the uncertainty and unsteadiness that EXO are feeling within the storyline in the MV. However, if you read the lyrics, you see that the song is talking to a girl and they are telling her, "Don't mess up my tempo." And yes, part of the tempo in the song is created by the squeak of what is thought to be bed springs. However, as with everything EXO does, there are duel meanings depending on how deeply you want to interpret the song and MV. On the surface the song and MV is meant to be enjoyed by the casual watcher and listener like you would any song on the radio, but if you want to delve in deeper and explore EXO's storyline, then there is so much more going on. As an SM Entertainment group, it shouldn't be a surprise that EXO are amazing vocalists -- hence the acapella part in the song. That is just what SM is known for. You can't be an SM artist without having amazing vocals and dance skills. That's just a fact about the type of people SM selects to become part of its company. All of SM's artists were first chosen for their visuals, vocals and/or dance skills, and even the rappers get intense training as vocalists. That is why SM is known as the vocal powerhouse of the industry. And EXO is a perfect example of that. As you are starting to discover, everything EXO is involved in, and I literally mean almost everything, is connected in some way to their concept and storyline. EXO's MVs are kind of like a movie -- it's a movie that has been going on for the past 9 years -- since predebut -- and it has no sign of coming to an end any time soon. The one thing you have to keep in mind with all of EXO's MVs, and I really mean all of them -- including their sub-sub-unit MVs and a majority of the member's solo MVs. And because Baekhyun and Kai are involved, even SuperM's storyline -- is that they are all connected and they all tell a little more of EXO's story. The aesthetic of the "Tempo" MV is centered around the color red because the setting is supposed to be depicting the members under the Red Forces' control. Without going into too much detail -- there is so much going on in EXO's "Tempo" MV that it's hard to grasp it all -- what fan theories think is happening in "Tempo" is it is showing the members of EXO all trapped in separate dimensions. Each of those rooms, could possibly be a different dimension and that is why you see the glitches and why you hear Xiumin and Baekhyun with that computerized voice, because they aren't all in the same place at the same time, so their voices are being distorted as they try to connect between dimensions, etc. They also still could be trapped in different rooms within the maze, like what we saw them in their "Overdose" MV. For several of EXO's MVs we believe they are still trapped within the maze and they are continuously trying to find their way out. The maze seems to affect their connection to their powers and it clouds their minds and dulls their senses, so not only are they fighting the Red Force and X-EXO, but they are also struggling to break free from the fog the Red Force has them in. That's why you see some of the members just lazily sitting around and kind of blankly staring off into space at times. Baekhyun is the one that is singled out in the MV and he is the one standing above everything looking down, so this is one example of where we think that maybe he is the only one who has avoided the Red Force's control and he is observing everything that is going on from the outside. You see Chanyeol being interrogated by Chen with the inkblot test and that is thought to be the members trying to figure out who are the real EXO members and who are the evil X-EXO members created by the Red Force -- or who are the real members and who are the clones. At this point everyone is suspicious of each other and no one can be trusted. As you may have noticed, halfway through the MV Chanyeol's eyes and hair change color, so some think that this is either showing two different versions of Chanyeol who appear in two different time periods or dimensions, or one is Chanyeol the EXO member and one is Chanyeol the X-EXO clone. Often, when you see a character in one of SM's MVs with blue eyes or different eye colors this usually means they are not who they appear to be. The "Chess game" is thought to be supernatural EXO chess, and I don't think it's a game they are playing, but I think maybe it's something they are using to try to decipher a clue or figure out a way out of wherever the Red Force has them trapped at the moment. It's unclear right now what that scene is really telling us, but I have a feeling things will become clearer in the future as more of EXO's storyline is unveiled in future MVs and as SM's SM Culture Universe storyline continues to evolve. You also see Sehun on the motorcycle in this MV, which I now think is connected to the scene where we see him driving a motorcycle in EXO's "Lightsaber" MV and sitting on the motorcycle in their new "Don't Fight the Feeling" MV. In the very last scene, that is Baekhyun with that cube. I am not sure what that means, but I am sure it's foreshadowing something to come in the future with EXO's storyline. EXO's Chinese member, Lay, is in this MV, but you won't see or hear him sing or dance because you watched the Korean version, and at this time the Chinese government only gave him permission to appear in the Korean version of "Tempo", but he wasn't allowed to participate in the song. If you want to hear Lay sing you will have to watch the Mandarin version. Nothing in this MV is random or done just because, even the smallest of detail has been planned out to either connect to something to do with EXO's storyline from past MVs or it will become a key part to help explain something in one of their future MVs.
Cool, 3 tracks into EXO and they get installed into your hall of fame!! Didn't I tell you to prepare to get blown away when you dig deeper into EXO?? Man, their title tracks are just the tip of the iceberg. The real goldmine lies in the b-side of their entire discography. There is no such thing as a bad song for this group. Their music hits different 'cause it isn't generic or follow trends, they create their own unique sound! TEMPO is whole new listening experience. It gets even better when you get to the acapella part. No one, but no one, harmonizes like EXO does! Anyway, EXO had 2 pre-debut songs, WHAT IS LOVE and HISTORY. Officially, their debut song is MAMA. I strongly recommend you listen to these 3 songs first before continuing on your EXO journey. As you have been told, EXO had 2 sub-groups, EXO-K (promoted n Korean) and EXO-M (promote in Chinese/Mandarin) early on. Hence, their MVs also had a Korean and a Chinese version. I hope you watch both versions so you get to meet the original 12 members. This group has a crazy good concept and interesting backstory that interconnect their MVs. EXO is the brainchild of LEE MAN-SOO, the founder and former CEO of SM Entertainment. There are group guides for EXO and their individual members here on UA-cam. Among the best are the ones from Cesar Oh's channel The "blue-eyed bandit" is CHANYEOL, one of the two main rappers of the group. He is also a vocalist, plays multiple instruments, writes and produces songs under his NNG Studios. The guy with the high notes in the background is CHEN, one of the three main vocalists. He starts off the song. The one with the amazing runs is D.O., another main vocalist. Fun Fact: When TEMPO came out, many agencies sought out its American producer, MZMC, who wanted him to produce a song for their boy bands that would sound like EXO in TEMPO. He declined saying only EXO can sound like EXO.
EXO's fandom name is "EXO-L" I personally love how meaningful this name is. The letter "L" here, has quite a lot of meanings. The most obvious one is that it stands for Love. What some people dont know about the fandom name, especially non fans, is that the letter "L" comes in between the letters "K" and "M" in the english alphabet. As you know, when exo first debuted, they were split into two subgroups called Exo-K and Exo-M. This means Exo-L always exists between Exo-K and Exo-M. (So it's Exo-K + Exo-L + Exo-M = One) Another speciality of the letter "L" is that it is the 12th letter of the English alphabet. And do you know how many members Exo debuted with? That's right. TWELVE. Isn't it the sweetest thing? I love how at first glance, our fandom name appears to be so very simple, but once you look deeper, you can see how much thought has been put when making it. Personally I find this one of the most beautiful and meaningful fandom names.

We called Tempo bridge as the best bridge in kpop and it's like Bohemian Rhapsody in kpop. If you're really into R&B then EXO is the right choice. Their music is r&b based. They the best discography in kpop since debut. Top notch vocalist.

Personal favorites are mostly b-sides like, 24/7, Ya Ya Ya, Gravity, Groove, and Ooh La La La. When you’re done with EXO, or want to jump into another group, I recommend Monsta X. There’s A LOT of groups and A LOT of content (live shows, variety shows, and many dive into acting) out there so don’t get too overwhelmed! Look forward to more!

Predebut: “What is love” & “History” Debut: “MAMA” with both versions Korean & Mandarin. From OT12 to OT9 (3 Chinese members left in 2014-2015) Then 2016, the last Chinese member LAY Zhang back to China (solo) due to political issue. He is huge in China. At least kpop fans like me, a born and bred American who fell into the Kpop hole in 2006 before Exo existed, before Kpop was even a thing...back then there was no clue, and definitely no way Kpop would even be considered or accepted in the Western scene as it slowly is today. But the worldwide fans are real, massive, and hail from every country on the planet. And Exo is just one group out of the endless talent and variety Kpop has to offer. But since 2011, Exo has been one of the most successful and beloved groups around the world. And it's all due to their singing. Vocals. No one can compare. 💙🌺

It gives you info about the group and eatch member and it is one of the most accurate videos (the best one I personaly have seen at least). Even if a bit long everyone that watched it was pleased and they loved it so highly recomend it. It's absolutely okay if you do not want to watch a video that long, but the boys are amazing so you won't regret it. Anyway, have a nice day :)

I’m so glad you enjoy your time watching and listening to EXO. EXO is my oshi (top group) and they are definitely one of the groups that I never regretted following and stanning. This group has a long history...they started in 2012 as 12 members split into 2 groups that sang the same songs (EXO-K sang in Korean, EXO-M in mandarin chinese). They were 12 members for about 3 years, then a couple chinese members left , leaving 10, you'll see a couple MVs with 10 members, then the 3rd chinese member left, leaving 9 which is where they stand today. But 1 remaining chinese member was forced by China to not promote with a group from Korea anymore, thats why in some of the later MVs, you'll see only 8...Now they are coming of the age where they are required to enlist in the Military, as all Korean males are required to do. So far 3 have completed their service and 3 are currently in the military. Two have yet to join. So with all this being said, that is why some MVs have 12, some 10,9,8 and 6 members.
You're an EXO-L now 🤣 All of EXO's songs are masterpieces. Wether it's ballad, pop or r&b... They have the title of Vocal Kings for a reason. "Tempo" was not produced by Teddy Riley, rather the producers who wrote "Tempo" were inspired by his music. Teddy produced the EXO songs "Call me baby", "What is love" and "Beautiful", only these three as far as I know

The whole mini album is amazing 🤩
The song is called "Tempo" and the album is named Don't Mess Up My Tempo, so, the tempo keeps speeding up and slowing down. I think the change in tempo is also supposed to mirror the uncertainty and unsteadiness that EXO are feeling within the storyline in the MV.
However, if you read the lyrics, you see that the song is talking to a girl and they are telling her, "Don't mess up my tempo." And yes, part of the tempo in the song is created by the squeak of what is thought to be bed springs. However, as with everything EXO does, there are duel meanings depending on how deeply you want to interpret the song and MV. On the surface the song and MV is meant to be enjoyed by the casual watcher and listener like you would any song on the radio, but if you want to delve in deeper and explore EXO's storyline, then there is so much more going on.
As an SM Entertainment group, it shouldn't be a surprise that EXO are amazing vocalists -- hence the acapella part in the song. That is just what SM is known for. You can't be an SM artist without having amazing vocals and dance skills. That's just a fact about the type of people SM selects to become part of its company. All of SM's artists were first chosen for their visuals, vocals and/or dance skills, and even the rappers get intense training as vocalists. That is why SM is known as the vocal powerhouse of the industry. And EXO is a perfect example of that.
As you are starting to discover, everything EXO is involved in, and I literally mean almost everything, is connected in some way to their concept and storyline. EXO's MVs are kind of like a movie -- it's a movie that has been going on for the past 9 years -- since predebut -- and it has no sign of coming to an end any time soon. The one thing you have to keep in mind with all of EXO's MVs, and I really mean all of them -- including their sub-sub-unit MVs and a majority of the member's solo MVs. And because Baekhyun and Kai are involved, even SuperM's storyline -- is that they are all connected and they all tell a little more of EXO's story.
The aesthetic of the "Tempo" MV is centered around the color red because the setting is supposed to be depicting the members under the Red Forces' control. Without going into too much detail -- there is so much going on in EXO's "Tempo" MV that it's hard to grasp it all -- what fan theories think is happening in "Tempo" is it is showing the members of EXO all trapped in separate dimensions. Each of those rooms, could possibly be a different dimension and that is why you see the glitches and why you hear Xiumin and Baekhyun with that computerized voice, because they aren't all in the same place at the same time, so their voices are being distorted as they try to connect between dimensions, etc.
They also still could be trapped in different rooms within the maze, like what we saw them in their "Overdose" MV. For several of EXO's MVs we believe they are still trapped within the maze and they are continuously trying to find their way out. The maze seems to affect their connection to their powers and it clouds their minds and dulls their senses, so not only are they fighting the Red Force and X-EXO, but they are also struggling to break free from the fog the Red Force has them in. That's why you see some of the members just lazily sitting around and kind of blankly staring off into space at times.
Baekhyun is the one that is singled out in the MV and he is the one standing above everything looking down, so this is one example of where we think that maybe he is the only one who has avoided the Red Force's control and he is observing everything that is going on from the outside.
You see Chanyeol being interrogated by Chen with the inkblot test and that is thought to be the members trying to figure out who are the real EXO members and who are the evil X-EXO members created by the Red Force -- or who are the real members and who are the clones. At this point everyone is suspicious of each other and no one can be trusted.
As you may have noticed, halfway through the MV Chanyeol's eyes and hair change color, so some think that this is either showing two different versions of Chanyeol who appear in two different time periods or dimensions, or one is Chanyeol the EXO member and one is Chanyeol the X-EXO clone. Often, when you see a character in one of SM's MVs with blue eyes or different eye colors this usually means they are not who they appear to be.
The "Chess game" is thought to be supernatural EXO chess, and I don't think it's a game they are playing, but I think maybe it's something they are using to try to decipher a clue or figure out a way out of wherever the Red Force has them trapped at the moment. It's unclear right now what that scene is really telling us, but I have a feeling things will become clearer in the future as more of EXO's storyline is unveiled in future MVs and as SM's SM Culture Universe storyline continues to evolve.
You also see Sehun on the motorcycle in this MV, which I now think is connected to the scene where we see him driving a motorcycle in EXO's "Lightsaber" MV and sitting on the motorcycle in their new "Don't Fight the Feeling" MV.
In the very last scene, that is Baekhyun with that cube. I am not sure what that means, but I am sure it's foreshadowing something to come in the future with EXO's storyline.
EXO's Chinese member, Lay, is in this MV, but you won't see or hear him sing or dance because you watched the Korean version, and at this time the Chinese government only gave him permission to appear in the Korean version of "Tempo", but he wasn't allowed to participate in the song. If you want to hear Lay sing you will have to watch the Mandarin version.
Nothing in this MV is random or done just because, even the smallest of detail has been planned out to either connect to something to do with EXO's storyline from past MVs or it will become a key part to help explain something in one of their future MVs.
Cool, 3 tracks into EXO and they get installed into your hall of fame!! Didn't I tell you to prepare to get blown away when you dig deeper into EXO?? Man, their title tracks are just the tip of the iceberg. The real goldmine lies in the b-side of their entire discography. There is no such thing as a bad song for this group. Their music hits different 'cause it isn't generic or follow trends, they create their own unique sound! TEMPO is whole new listening experience. It gets even better when you get to the acapella part. No one, but no one, harmonizes like EXO does! Anyway, EXO had 2 pre-debut songs, WHAT IS LOVE and HISTORY. Officially, their debut song is MAMA. I strongly recommend you listen to these 3 songs first before continuing on your EXO journey. As you have been told, EXO had 2 sub-groups, EXO-K (promoted n Korean) and EXO-M (promote in Chinese/Mandarin) early on. Hence, their MVs also had a Korean and a Chinese version. I hope you watch both versions so you get to meet the original 12 members. This group has a crazy good concept and interesting backstory that interconnect their MVs. EXO is the brainchild of LEE MAN-SOO, the founder and former CEO of SM Entertainment. There are group guides for EXO and their individual members here on UA-cam. Among the best are the ones from Cesar Oh's channel The "blue-eyed bandit" is CHANYEOL, one of the two main rappers of the group. He is also a vocalist, plays multiple instruments, writes and produces songs under his NNG Studios. The guy with the high notes in the background is CHEN, one of the three main vocalists. He starts off the song. The one with the amazing runs is D.O., another main vocalist. Fun Fact: When TEMPO came out, many agencies sought out its American producer, MZMC, who wanted him to produce a song for their boy bands that would sound like EXO in TEMPO. I personally love how meaningful this name is.
The letter "L" here, has quite a lot of meanings. The most obvious one is that it stands for Love. What some people dont know about the fandom name, especially non fans, is that the letter "L" comes in between the letters "K" and "M" in the english alphabet. As you know, when exo first debuted, they were split into two subgroups called Exo-K and Exo-M. This means Exo-L always exists between Exo-K and Exo-M. (So it's Exo-K + Exo-L + Exo-M = One)
Another speciality of the letter "L" is that it is the 12th letter of the English alphabet. And do you know how many members Exo debuted with? That's right. TWELVE. Isn't it the sweetest thing?
I love how at first glance, our fandom name appears to be so very simple, but once you look deeper, you can see how much thought has been put when making it. Personally I find this one of the most beautiful and meaningful fandom names.

At least kpop fans like me, a born and bred American who fell into the Kpop hole in 2006 before Exo existed, before Kpop was even a thing...back then there was no clue, and definitely no way Kpop would even be considered or accepted in the Western scene as it slowly is today. But the worldwide fans are real, massive, and hail from every country on the planet. And Exo is just one group out of the endless talent and variety Kpop has to offer. But since 2011, Exo has been one of the most successful and beloved groups around the world. And it's all due to their singing. Vocals. No one can compare.

As for your earlier question there are actualy guides on youtube, but a lot of EXO-Ls (fandom name) would recommend you The Ultime Guide To Exo. Even if it's hour long, it is ABSOLUTELY worth it. It gives you info about the group and eatch member and it is one of the most accurate videos (the best one I personaly have seen at least). Even if a bit long everyone that watched it was pleased and they loved it so highly recomend it. It's absolutely okay if you do not want to watch a video that long, but the boys are amazing so you won't regret it.
