@@roballen1578 That's the problem, dive knives don't cut very well and are difficult to sharpen normally. Let us know what steel you will be using. That will make a huge difference.
@@potvinr every batch of knives can be slightly different. The sharpening procedure is no different. If we used 316s/s it will not hold an edge but will never rust. The stainless steels knives are made with are much harder but do stain in not looked after. The harder the steel the better the edge. We try to go in-between. Since making this video we are on about the 10th batch, each have been slightly different. Take it to a professional knife sharpener. I sharpen on a fine belt sanding, linishing tool then hone on a stone.
@@potvinr Problem is, the harder the steel the better it holds an edge but to make it hard it needs a higher carbon content. This makes it rust, bit of a "catch 22."
I bought the knife 3 weeks before but from first use the rust all over and i washed it in normal water but how can i remove the rust? Can i use w40? Kindly advise
Hi Ziad, It is best to rinse in fresh water and let the sheath dry properly before putting it back. Don't use sand paper to clean, use a fine metal polish. To keep protected, rub a dab of petroleum jelly on the blade before going in the water. In order to have a sharp blade we need to use a stainless that is strong. These can stain. The less the corrosion resistance the softer the edge and therefore the sharpness goes.
Hi Rob, Is the new version really going to be available only in Titanium? How is the cutting edge compared to the old stainless steel version, isn't the edge sharpness/retention a problem for Titanium? Which s/steel is used for the old version, 420?
I'll respectfully disagree. I was able to use the rob Allen recently. best knife I've ever seen. I was able to bend pinched weights with a 3 year old knife. it stayed razor sharp after still. And the sheath, while simple is much better than the terminator. I have friends who swear by riffe, I was in the water with them when they lost their knives because the sheath/strap sucks. the knife breaks easily too and I'm not really a fan of the "on the side" shaft knotch.
ok...I like to use the knife in my arm ... i read that you put good comments about the snapper 120 ... i receive today a 120 brand new ... the shaft is 7mm or 6.6mm ? I know the bands are 14mm
the shaft is 7mm. the snapper is really really easy to load. I absolutely love it. little big to go in and around tight spaces but I love it for those reefs with nice gaps between and big fish. btw, freediving 101. I'll advise you change where you put your knife. freediving safety says that you should put knives where they're easily accessible from both hands. I don't want a situation to arise where you need your knife to save your life but you can't get it because your "1 free arm" is trapped. think about the waist or legs.
when will be in the market again? one of the best knives for spearos.
Hi rob, do you have any advice how to get sand out of my rob allen dentex knive sheath?
Rhank you
Sorry we have never had anyone with that problem? Is it not possible to wash out?
I use Flitz Rifle/Gun/Knife Wax on all of my stainless steel diving blades. Does not attract dirt, like silicone/petrolatum/grease/oil/etc. will.
What metal is it made of? can we ever sharpen it back again to a semblance of cutting?
It is a heat treated stainless steel ghat can be sharpened like any knife.

Hi Tony, sorry we don't make any in Titanium. I think the new is a type of 420.
when are you guys gonna make these again? everybody keeps telling me it's the best knife in the game -_-
best knife is the riffe terminator 2
