It is obvious that this is an extremely talented and dedicated set of young musicians. I thoroughly enjoyed all the pieces they played in this concert, some of which were new to me.
@@stevenwilgus5422 Definitely worth a listen... I'm a big classical music fan, and the "Rock Symphony" excerpt was super refreshing... I'm probably on my 30th listen 😁👌
This is an absolute super performance! Lastest with Arvo Pärt this is the total resonance between performance & conductor & audience if I may judge as this! Wow!!!
What a great concert! The young players of the Baltic Sea Philharmonic look as if they are really enjoying themselves. The two last pieces by living composers were great discoveries for me and I've just ordered the CD. It was clearly a special concert and a special mention for the drum kit player in the Kalnins 'Rock Symphony' and for the walkabout violinist in 'Never Ignore the Cosmic Ocean' by Gelgotas.
Another very fine concert by this excellent orchestra and conductor. These musicians are having a good time. Smiles all around. Kristjan Jarvi was a fine choice for their tour. He knows the energy that these young musicians have. Their excitement while playing is easy to see. Bravo to all.
A breath of fresh air. What a talented, committed and happy group of young musicians. I don't think I've enjoyed myself so much in ages. Would love a CD to be available sometime.
Hi Martin, we have released a CD with the programme of the Paris concert in 2015. It is called 'Baltic Sea Voyage'. You'll find it online as well as in record stores. It is released on Naïve Classique with this number: V5407.
@@BalticSeaPhilharmonicMany thanks for that info, I shall look forward to my copy. Long may you all continue to produce such wonderful, refreshing music.
Many thanks for this magnificent journey! I've watched some parts of this on Mezzo before, but never the entire concert (will have to get the CD). This is an outstanding orchestra of course - as a Swede I'm a native of the region and know most of these composers, but their work shines with a new light here!
Woh ! Talented musicians, completely inside the music very pleasant to see, and wonderful to listen. Good choice of pieces, lots of them I discover. I really hope to find a CD. BRAVO ! Merci pour ce merveilleux moment.
Beethoven is just the start of an extraordinary fest. Breathtaking, fiery, visceral, no holds barred, risky, to hell with conventions and rules ... Takes a special musical mind to bring this off, and players willing to go all the way, living on the knife-edge. Be prepared for anything. Remarkable.
Agreed! The so-called "historically correct" performances are weak and calculating without feeling. This performance of "The Creatures of Prometheus" has strength and I'm 100% sure Beethoven would love to have heard his music sound this way.
Gracias.
so is it just me or is the Penderecki piece missing from this recording? regardless, the concert was absolutely amazing! the talent of both the conductor and the musicians is just astounding. I absolutely loved the repertoire and the energy with which it was reproduced.
Can I assume a "youth" orchestra is a body of young, non-professional, musicians? I ask because this orchestra sounds more "professional" than a number of established professional bodies I could name. The first thing I noticed was the polished sheen on the strings - then my attention expanded to the rest of the orchestra! In a word. great! Then they arrived at "Capriccio espagnol", with all of those exposed and difficult solos, and young Kristjan Järvi's tempi were unrelenting. Sure the very demanding violin solo (shortly after the audience started premature applause) didn't quite manage that high harmonic note, but so what? Playing those notes, simply put, "ain't easy". And later in the concert, the same player managed some extraordinary high harmonic notes. But, I am unfair to give accolades to one performer when the orchestra teams with players of outstanding ability. Thank you ALL, for a wonderfully enjoyable concert,.
Incredible sexual tension created by theses young people and their maestro. I am sure they will have all benefited from the warm contacts engendered. Not sure Kristjan's brother or dad would have the same effect ... oh, and what a choice of music, a programme so skillfully put together! Bravo KJ!!!
This great youth orchestra plays WAY TOO MUCH contemporary stuff by non-master "composers." I would never pay to see a program like this. What a total waste of talent.

I can't believe I never heard this amazing piece of music before today, 27th August 2024. And what a wonderful performance by this orchestra. Bravo!
World Of Wonder indeed ! The energy of this conductor guiding an elite of talented musicians is breathtaking.

I just "tuned in." I haven't listened, as yet. Your comment is very encouraging!

And also, the conductor is doing it from memory. That is important.

Un concierto espectacular, diferente, divertido y emocionante. Magníficos músicos y director. Enhorabuena chicos y chicas de la BYP
A wonderful concert. A few pieces I had never heard before - of those, Orawa was my favorite.
There's a reason you've never heard them before. I've never heard of them either. They aren't done because they aren't great works by great composers.
BRAVO! BRAVO! BRAVO!
Excellent Orchestra!
Seulement un mot, magnifique
WOW !!!! LOVE IT !

Wich piece, who is the composer?
Description
mauvais chef d'orchestre il confond vitesse et précipitation (capriccio)

What an insensitive bore.
Then don’t watch it. Simple.
