I guess they just scream for fun. I do that on roller coasters, but I do have to admit, their screaming was so loud and unnecessary, they were screaming like there was a murderer running behind them! XDD 😅😂🤣
I'm terrified of roller coasters that go upside down, but that's probably just because we're sitting up. If I was laying down it'd be like my bed positions. On my belly, on my sides, on my back.

ChavMan This was before the VR was added. They’re actually screaming because you get tilted and face downwards the whole time. If you don’t know it’s gonna happen it can be a shock.

all time favourite ride, it’s unreal it feels like your actually flying and when it puts you on your stomach it feels like your gonna fall out, love this ride 😂
This ride always seems to have one of the longest queue times in the park which is a shame :S I've seen it have a 4 hour queue once in the summer holidays... Don't know who would queue for half the day to ride it
I went on it yesterday and we waited like half an hour,it takes so long because they try to make sure your with the people you want to be with on the ride because there's four seats,and a lot of people won't go on without there friends which is just stupid
Hayleigh Westerman no it takes so long because there is a duel station so the track has to keep on switching which takes ages. also flying coasters do the tilt which makes the que longer
Try and go on it about half 5 - 6 PM, usually they keep it open just a little later than 6 so the is normally empty, we went today at this time and literally went all the way through the que and got on the ride straight away with no waiting, also we went on twice because you can get out through the shop and round through the deserted que again with no waiting, I would so recommend doing this but it all depends on what time you get there.
In my opinion one of the best rides in the park, wouldn't say it's scary but I would definitely recommend to queue for the front as it's not as effective if you're not:)
yeah staring at peoples shoes really kills it they do try there best to make it so that there's always a curve so the rows in front are lifted up out your sight line but inevitably there there
If anyone's going to Alton Towers and are scared of going on this ride, don't be. It's an incredible experience - and this is coming from somebody who is TERRIFIED of heights and roller-coasters. It's pretty fast (slower in comparison to others, though), but not scary at all, and honestly feels like flying. You won't regret it. :)
I went to Alton towers about 2 weeks ago, I'm 11 and this was my first rollercoaster. I went on almost every rollercoaster after this. SOOO MUCH FUN!!!!!!!!

When I went to Alton towers I rode oblivion before this and it made me feel pretty sick. When I was about to go on Air I considered pulling out purely because of the nausea, but I didn’t. To this day I swear this is the most relaxing rollercoaster I have ever been on. I felt better getting off than I did getting on.
yeah i wouldnt advise riding in the order you encounter the rides unless your used to them if it where me id advise 13 followed by air then rita then oblivion then smiler and finally nemesis 13 first then air cause there the most chill rita and oblivion because there a little g force heavy nemesis last because its the most intense
B&M's line of "Batman" coasters were the world's first inverted coasters, Vekoma's flying dutchmen rides could arguably be considered the first "flying" coasters, and Oblivion's drop is only 87 degrees. Sorry to spoil the party.
This was the first ever invented flying coaster in the world so if it wasn't for this, Manta at SeaWorld probably wouldn't exist. Same as rides like SheKira. It might be bigger and better than Oblivion, but Alton Towers was the first theme park in the world to invent a vertical drop rollercoaster.
Well, they could have been built without air and oblivion. It's not like alton towers build them. B&M invented the concepts and Alton Towers bought the prototypes such as oblivion and air.

S A the rides at Alton towers are short due to the fact that they can’t go above the trees and also the lack of ‘creativity’ is made up for with the thrill, speed and mechanics of the rides.
poison ivy 543 have you been on them? Like it’s not about height! they may not be high but they are still thrilling. American coasters have Alamo’s no theming and basic layouts. So be quiet because UK coasters have lots of creativity.
Air is an amazing ride you might find it scary at first when u lift of from tn the ground but when ur moving kts a fantastic experience you feel like supperman!!! Id recommend this ride alot as one of the best rides there

This is a fun ride. I just laughed all the way through it, as it isn't forceful in the slightest. I do love that twist it does sending you onto your back. It did however get stuck on the lift hill for a few hours when I went a week or so ago, and I'm so glad I didn't decide to go on it before Nemesis otherwise, it would have been me stuck up there
I went to AT last year and went on this coaster. I was scared at first but then when I went on it and it wasn't so bad☺. I watch this video to remind me what it looks like
My most favourite ride ever and I'm only 11. My first time on this I stuck my arm out and shouted SUPERMAN!!! And I started singing " I believe I can fly!"
I went on Galactica today and I can honestly say it's not half as scary as it looks! The only problem I had with it was that when I first put the headset on I was a bit panicked about what was going to happen but it was really good! I couldn't even tell where I was for half of it and the VR element is great! (Also, everyone complaining about Air: you can ride Galactica without the VR so it's literally Air.)
I went to Alton Towers on Monday for a school trip, 3 of my friends went on this ride but me and one of my other friends didnt. They came off and said they felt really ill.
They're screaming and they haven't even left the station yet!

if you go just before 5 it literally takes 10 minutes in a queue thats what i did last year

S A the rides at Alton towers are short due to the fact that they can’t go above the trees and also the lack of ‘creativity’ is made up for with the thrill, speed and mechanics of the rides.
poison ivy 543 have you been on them? Like it’s not about height! they may not be high but they are still thrilling. American coasters have Alamo’s no theming and basic layouts. So be quiet because UK coasters have lots of creativity.

Air is an amazing ride you might find it scary at first when u lift of from tn the ground but when ur moving kts a fantastic experience you feel like supperman!!! Id recommend this ride alot as one of the best rides there

This is the best ride at Alton Towers; I love Nemesis and Rita, but they can't top the creativity and excitement that is Air.
Air is by far one of my favourite rides. You feel like you're flying.

This is a fun ride. I just laughed all the way through it, as it isn't forceful in the slightest. I do love that twist it does sending you onto your back.
It did however get stuck on the lift hill for a few hours when I went a week or so ago, and I'm so glad I didn't decide to go on it before Nemesis otherwise, it would have been me stuck up there
I watched this video and was shitting myself. Then went on the ride and loved it. Ended up going on it again hopefully gunna go in 2020

Well said. I know that when I used to get scared on coasters I wouldn't scream, instead I'd silently deathgrip the restraints until the ride was over.

My most favourite ride ever and I'm only 11. My first time on this I stuck my arm out and shouted SUPERMAN!!! And I started singing " I believe I can fly!"

I went on Galactica today and I can honestly say it's not half as scary as it looks! The only problem I had with it was that when I first put the headset on I was a bit panicked about what was going to happen but it was really good! I couldn't even tell where I was for half of it and the VR element is great! (Also, everyone complaining about Air: you can ride Galactica without the VR so it's literally Air.)
I could 100 % fall asleep on this ride 😂 the restraints are so comfy! the only scary bit is the lift hill when you look down.
Went on air yesterday it is awesome. I wanted to ride again because it's just so cool!

I went to Alton Towers on Monday for a school trip, 3 of my friends went on this ride but me and one of my other friends didnt. They came off and said they felt really ill.
