i just want a good way to schedule customers for my mechanic business. no online anything, in person or phone scheduling. Square keeps sending my customers text even if i have it set not to. there has to be something out there for basic appointment scheduling, i could always keep a daily log on paper but that uses so much paper and its hard to look up customer info if needed
That’s weird. I haven’t never had that happen. Their customer service is great. Email or call them to fix that. There may be an option in the settings that may have been missed to stop the text and emails
Hi. We have customers read and sign our acknowledgment form and for jobs $500+ we have them pay a 20% non refundable deposit. It doesn’t completely stop it but we have maybe 1 or 2 no shows a year.
hi. can you set it up so you can see customers address in overview and calendar? because when you have mobile business you want to set appointments close to each other.
Well it’s tricky...we only do 2 full details a day so sometimes we just roll with wherever they are since it’s only 2 per day. But when I was scheduling appointments before this I would simply let them know what days I have available and then work out the time of day later, like a day or two before the appointment that way I have time to map out where I’m going and make it more efficient. So if that happens with the appointment app I just call them up and maybe change the times to accommodate our route for the day. I use google calendar and sync it with Appoitnments. Then I can see on google maps where each customer is.
thanks for the vid. I just started using square scheduler. So simple and user friendly compared to others I've explored. My question is; How do I set it up for clients to schedule appointments for specific blocks of time? For instance, after I put my hours of availability for a day in the week I notice clients can book every 30 mins, not on the hour, or every 90 mins. I'm a massage therapist and only want clients booking at the top of the hour, not half way through leaving me with huge blocks of time between sessions. I want to see three clients, each for an hour, in a 4 hour period with 30 min breaks between the 1st and 2nd client. Is this possible?
Hi thanks for watching For us we want customers booking 2 services per day, a morning appointment that starts at 9-9:30 and and afternoon one that starts at1-1:30. It’s a little tricky but when I add my services I add extra time either on the service or break in between to make sure customers can only book 2 services per day, one that starts in the morning time I need and one that starts in the afternoon time I need. So even though our services may only take 2-3 hours I enter 4-5 to make sure it fills up the day so I don’t get 3 or 4 appointments conflicting. Sometimes I get a 10am or 2pm appointment that throws it off but then I just contact them to explain it may start around 9-9:30 instead and then edit it. It still works really well. Hope that helps.
Oh I see what you mean. Actually you have to use separate accounts for each business. But you can use the same app. You just have to sign out and into another account each time.
I don’t think they actually have it for android yet. But I found this link. www.sellercommunity.com/t5/General-Discussion/Early-Access-to-the-Android-Appointments-App/m-p/76342/thread-id/13517
Nice bit of info. Thanks! I was also looking at Autogeeks Auto-spector (I think it's called) It's for paint inspection and estimates but only available on iPhone platform. Grrrrr Okay here comes a question... ...I've seen posts about square that state it only accepts up to A max of 200 $ payments. Is that correct? I can't find any online info about the amount of payment it will accept. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge and tips with us! ~Kelly in Canada 🇨🇦
You’re welcome! As far as I know I don’t think there is a limit. I have accepted all payments up to $900 at once before. That may have been an old term when they first started. Many businesses use them know as their main card, cash, check, and invoice company.
Q for ya.. How do I get clients to confirm through this app? Not through personal number ? Change appt time etc. it gives link.... however I am not doing online booking yet. So I am just looking for confirm...
Good question. I’m not sure. I’m going to look into that. I don’t think customers confirm through it though. I confirm myself through either email or text.
So it looks like customers can either cancel, reschedule, or book another detail. But when they book online you have to confirm the appointment for day and time. But when you schedule them it sends them texts and emails to saying the appointment is confirmed.
Miranda Detailing yes ::) it confirms them through app, then gives them a confirm. However when they say like yes thank you I will be there type of answer - it says to them “I don’t understand your reply” go to this link” blah.. I know it’s me not looking as far in as I could, could be that I haven’t gotten into online booking yet?
@@MirandaDetailing SO i can use that to notify my client that I need to cancel their appt. I don't just want to send a cancellation but I want to give then a short explanation
Yes. When you cancel a customers appointment it will ask if you want to send a text and/or email to notify the customer and then there is a box under that where you can send a message with it.
@@MirandaDetailing I ran a test on myself and made an appt clicked cancel it I added the note i wanted to send. But when I looked at what was sent to my phone via text the note did not show so I the client could see it before rescheduling another appt
Oh I see...Well once you gain customers and their emails you can run email and text campaigns and promote yourself. But square isn't a social media platform to post anything on, it's a scheduling, invoicing, and credit card accepting app.
So I ordered the square card reader downloaded app and everything, when I actually take a payment how does it go to my bank account and is it guaranteed not to lose the money and no scam? Do you prefer it over cash and check? So the fee is always 2.6 no matter what, Thanks
You have to setup the square on your computer and link it to your bank account. Square is not a scam. They have been around for a long time and we have used them for 9 years now. They have a help section on the website you can see to help you.
@@MirandaDetailing I meant can people try to scam you through square ? Fraudulent credit card charge ? What do you prefer cash check or card ? I got the reader how do I set it up
Thank you very much for this. After 61 years, our Barbershop is going to start taking appointments. Perhaps this is what we need, thanks again.
Thank you I will try it.
I really like this tutorial. Very easy to understand.
Thanks!
My first choice awesome app
1:38 - you're technically not wrong. I received an e-mail from Square that Appointment will soon work right on Google Maps. 👍
True! I just read that also! Thanks cool

Yes it’s great! It keeps track of everything for you I come wise. I wish it did expenses...maybe it’s in the works😎👍🏼
why do some folks claim it's hard to do appointments and expect you to do them after you are finish the project you are currently detailing?
🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
How you deal with no shows? Do you take payment before seeing vehicle??

It's possible to get customer home address during checkout?
Hi Actually when customers book with us we get all that info up front, but at check out you can also request an address.
can you run multiple business in this app

Unfortunately they can’t reply through the app. Not yet anyway. They still need to add features to the app.
How can I send a text to a client with a message
In the settings on the appointment app there are options to send emails and texts automatically a few days before any appointment.
