One of the best interviews yet. McInnes made it easy for you lads. He seemed to have a script in his head, didn’t need to be brought back to the timeline, he controlled the conversation. Clever and funny, composed and articulate but more importantly, likeable. Can see him getting a chance down south in the prem one day.

Cracking 1 this knew he was a rangers man but wonder if he regreted refusing his chance to manage us. The stories are magical 👌
I’ve never criticised a manager of my team, and there’s good reason why I’ve never criticised Derek’s tenure. He made the club aware that he wouldn’t stand for draconian training facilities with the first few weeks, pushed the club to build a proper modern training ground, and obviously brought home a trophy. But more importantly, he stabilised the club and brought a sense of pride back to the North East.
I, for one, will forever be grateful to him and Doc for doing that.
Yes, maybe the time had come for fresh ideas. I think he’d probably be big enough to agree himself about that, but from my personal point of view, I wish him nothing but the best. I think we were lucky to have him and his team for the time they were here.
By the way, the ‘Kid’ did a better interview!!

McInnes should have gotten until the end of the season at Aberdeen at least. Was brilliant for us across the 8 years.

As these podcasts go, This has to be one of the best. Not his biggest fan from his Aberdeen days. They way he went about things being an ex Rangers man didn't sit right but this was brilliant.

Well worth the effort. McInnes saves this interview. the two questioning Herberts need to slow up or use subtitles. Rab C. Nesbitt sound like a Kelvinside pansy against this lot. Alas, I left Scotland a long time ago, still, outside of Scotia this video is almost useless... Pity, because Bristol City gets a mention. Derek is pretty broad, but understandable, he trots out his after dinner speach, with add-ons to good effect...

First time I realised what a good manager he had was Motherwell away in the cup run. Down to 10 men, his tactics that night were superb. That and the semi against at St Johnstone at Tynecastle. Great times
Was looking forward to this one and I was not disappoint what a man did a great job at Aberdeen. One of the best interviews you boys have done and there has been some great ones good stories. Loved it we need guys like this in the league you have to love Scottish football 🏴⚽👍👍

That was a superb interview, a lot of great football pointers and I laughed all the way through it too. This was right up there with Andy Halliday's interview with Si :) .
One of my favourite ever players. Love the underdog, moving from Greenock to play champions league with Rangers for a couple of hundred thousand. Then going on to play in the Premiership. Love the story.
I’ve always held del in high regard, top manager. Would love to see him in the Ibrox dug out one day.
The drinking culture at the Rangers was enough for Scotland and the dross we would play. Europe. We suffered big time.
